I honestly don't know how enlightening this reaction is. Haven't watched AoT in a while and I admittedly might have forgotten very important details😓😓

The trailer was still really entertaining and I am super excited to get back into it with the 4th season!🤩

Yeah don't worry. In the trailer there're many new characters that you don't know and because some "changes" (like the animation studio) maybe you can't recognize some familiar faces. I highly recommend -almost like an obligation lol- to rewatch the basement's reveal episodes of last season (the last 3 episodes)

The visuals and the subs were very fast paced, that's why its super hard to pick on everything. This is going to be a great final season, with some new characters, excellent character development and new mysteries introduced. I think the animation was pretty decent too. Lets hope Mappa does as good a job as WIT did for earlier seasons. Looking at this trailer I have high hopes from this studio :) Also the reaction was great! It is super hard to add much commentary to a trailer of this type. As you said, it was just filled with emotions!

I think there will soon be a release of AOT movies as well, which are essentially a summary of all the previous seasons. It essentially contains edited scenes from all the previous episodes. Will share when it comes out, could be a fun way to recap the whole of AOT in 2-3 hours.

Mappa did Vinland Saga, and I thought that animation was beautiful! Plus this trailer isn't like a finished project. It's stylized animation and different shots but it's basically like a rough draft. WIT is contributing also with regards to music. Which I think is so awesome! But I have to admit, I'm still a little confused about hair color changes 🤨🤔

Oh yeah for sure. That’s why I feel like so many anime-only’s are confused as to what’s going on in the trailer 😭 it’s Probably been so long for them since the end of the S3 which covers a lot of stuff that’s important, I’m sure it would be almost impossible to remember everything

Yeah I was surprised with what all was added in the trailer. But I don't think anime only will be spoiled as there is no context to most scenes. Of course if someone tries to analyze the trailer frame by frame then they could stumble upon some spoilers. Having spoken to a few anime only friends who had watched the trailer, I don't think they were spoiled on anything. They were just super hyped for the upcoming season! :)

Vinland Saga was in fact animated by Wit Studio and not Mappa. Some of the notable shows animated by Mappa are: Dororo, Yuri on Ice, Dorohedoro. As you pointed out, some people who worked on earlier seasons will continue working on the final season as well, despite the studio change! This includes Hiroyuki Sawano (music composer) and Yasuko Kobayashi (screenplay writer). But of course there are major changes too: new director and new character designer.

Idk if you've ever watched or heard of Banana Fish, but I think Mappa also did that show? Also very beautiful! Dororo was a great series! Besides that one janky scene running up the hill🤣 lol.

I remember being confused by that motorcycle intro thing too lol. That is actually the Twin Engine company intro. Its a production company that funded both Dororo and Vinland Saga. I have heard of Banana fish but haven't watched it yet. Have watched Dororo though, especially since its original manga was written by Osamu Tezuka, also famously known as the father of manga! Wanted to see what his works look like. I think the anime was well animated for the most part, except for a few episodes, where I think the production wa rushed (as you pointed out as well) Hope they do a good job with AOT...its probably their biggest project until now!

Well that makes more sense! I never knew why they both had that intro lol. Oh boy, Banana Fish is just... soul crushing 😭🥺. Kind of a slow burn in some respects but it's so emotional and gritty. If you enjoy character driven stories, great but sometimes slow writing, and are okay with some very... mature/dark topics... I highly recommend it. How could someone not be interested in an anime loosely based on the titular Salinger short story! In my very nerdy opinion atleast lol.

No problem! March Comes In like a Lion is also pretty good! Rei reminds me of Arima from Your Lie In April a little bit lol. Everyone seems to love Haikyuu and I really wanna like it cause I feel almost left out 😅 lol but I know nothing about volleyball. I can't seem to finish the first episode without getting bored and changing it😅.

Well i'll just share right here. **possible spoiler theories from an anime only aot viewer** First episode of season 2 when the Beast titan did not recognize the manuver gear i figured there was a group of people living outside the walls. I was thinking they lived in the forest or something. During the 2nd part of season 3 when the Beast titan mentioned a perfect game i wondered how did he know about baseball, and that kind of confirmed there was a developed society out of the walls. My predictions for season 4. When the Owl mentioned Mikasa and Armins name that took me by surprise, so i think somehow the memories became connected or merged. or i'm thinking this world is a simulation like in the matrix, or there is some kind of artifact or something that resets the timeline or there is alternate dimensions connected somehow. One reason i think this is when the beast titan was hurling rocks at the soldiers he mentioned how humanity repeats itself, so maybe the beast titan is actually a good guy in a way. Also there is a character that appeared with reiner on the walls during season 3. at first i thought it was Berthold but now my guess is it's Eren from a different reality and he is gonna be a bad guy . thats all i got for now lol.

I'm very excited!!! aot was really the first anime that i sat down and watched, besides dragon ball z, but i never considered that as an anime at the time. I'm gonna be happy sad when it all ends, aot has been apart of my life for such a long time, it's special when you look forward to an anime airing on a certain day of the week brand new, so much anticipation week by week.

Those are some interesting theories :) Can't wait to see how you feel about the final season! AOT is probably the anime that is closest to my heart...I love the characters and the depth of the entire plot. I'm already starting to feel emotional about AOT ending soon. The manga will end in 5-6 chapters as well :(

I feel your pain😢. I also watched dbz as a kid lol. But I never knew it was anime. It was just cartoons. That and Inuyasha were on cartoon network all the time lol. Naruto was the first anime I started watching knowing it was an anime if that makes sense😅? You get so attached to these amazing characters and story then when the end is near it almost feels like your breaking up! Or maybe I'm just weird and alone on that one lol. Bittersweet indeed:/

Of all recent anime I watched, my faourite were Vinland Saga and Promised Neverland. I'm guessing you must have watched both these spectacular anime already, but if not, I would strongly reecommend both of them! Haven't read demon slayer manga. Looking forward to the upcoming movie :)

Definitely watched Vinland Saga. That show was awesome! I keep teetering about reading the manga or not lol. I've seen the pilot for Neverland, I think? Other than that, nope never watched it lol. Thanks for the recommendation! I totally thought you had read the Demon Slayer manga actually lol. I just hope it finally comes out! Last I heard Ufotable wasn't doing too great and it was already pushed back because of the quarantines. The mini arc was pretty interesting so I can't even fathom how amazing the movie is gonna be😆! With my shit luck it's going to come out soon and I won't be able to watch it because we're gonna be under martial law 😅

Then you should certainly checkout Promised Neverland! We will be getting its season 2 next year too! :) There was no movie release date announced for demon slayer right? In which case I think we still have at leat a few months before the movie is released.

Not currently, atleast I don't think so? I've heard people saying it's coming out in December or January? Don't know if its accurate that's accurate either lol. 😅
