I think I explained it before but here's some quick baseball explanations: -strikes = when a batter swings and miss -balls = when a pitcher doesn't pitch in the strike zone (between knee and shoulder of batter in swinging motion) -3 strikes = batter out -4 balls = batter advances to first base -deadball = when a pitcher hits the batter accidentally and the batter advances to 1st base -If a fielder catches the ball mid-air after a hit, the batter is out -other stuff should be visually recognisable

-Foul is when the batter hits the ball past the "range" of the field on either side or if the ball goes backwards. (This counts as a strike, but you can't get an out on fouls) -Batters sometimes use fouls to stall so they get a better pitch to hit

I think with Haikyuu it's just less realistic and more focused on the hype aspect. That's the reason why viewers can identify with a sport they don't know. It's kinda like Kuroko no Basket where certain things are embellished without actually describing the sport itself. I personally dislike that because it doesn't actually matter what sport they're illustrating. Nevertheless, I can understand if you're switched off by new info on a sport you don't know. For now, just ignore the pitch types and at least know why batters are scoring or pitchers getting outs lol.

lol the video was cut short at the end.

I definitely think you're right - it's a less realistic depiction, but that way you are able to reach a wider audience who don't necessarily have to keep track of too much new information. I'll try to focus on the things I do get for now. Your explanations are really helpful, and I hope it sinks in at some point😅
