Fun trivia I noticed: When Shiki was in coma there was a hole that looked like grail from fate, I guess it has something to do with the root that every mage seeks. Also here's something I just now noticed rewatching this for the fifth time with you lol, before Touko came visiting Shiki as fake doctor they said her previous therapist was some dude called Araya, that's like super important! He's the dude from after credits and things they showed there happened before previous movies. And yeah mystic eyes of death perception are super vague. They basically can kill anything that exists including ghosts, zombies, gods, vampires, whatever. Im pretty sure she can kill air or wind if she wants to lol And next movie best movie for sure! Like it's generally accepted that fifth one is peak KnK! Even though after all these years I still have no idea what's going on in that one LOL

her eyes of death perception are not genetic, and they are not unique cuz there's another character in fate universe (not from this series) that has exact same ones. And Shiki literally got them because of coma and being close to death for 2 years, like you know those stories of people being in comas and when they return they speak of tunnels of light and all kinds of strange stuff. So it's like that, she took that power from beyond life.

I think you overthink when trying to put what's happened into words because of Nasu's confusing writing, especially considering it was his first work, he tends to put simple things in hard to grasp explanations. Basically you what you got is: y shiki got in coma her split personality died in order to keep her alive she woke up with weeeeird eyes, she don like dat much, also shes bored now, oh poor thing, every character obsess over her cuz shes dat cute. Even ded guys! in fact one ded guy straight up almost hugged her to death! but then she killed him, sad face. its ok tho she can still hug puppy-kun!

Okay, cool, thanks for the clarification. Then the only thing I don't really get (haha, funny joke) is what "power" or something she had which was why she was supposed to be the heir to her family instead of her brother... Like, I thought the eyes were part of it and that was why her father made her do things or knew about the deaths and said nothing because he knew that way she would awaken them or it or whatever... but apparently not... Don't answer if it might spoil something for the next movies though (obv):D
