Damiester

If I recall correctly, the reason why Sakaeguchi's sister was the "guardian" is because their mother passed away a couple of years ago. This is additional info from the extras in the manga volumes.

Damiester

This final arc of the anime is definitely my favourite cause it examines the psychology of so many different characters and teams. You can finally see Abe being confronted by both Tajima and Abe's father about his controlling tendencies. It's about time Mihashi and Abe grew stronger together.

Damiester

So yeah, the quick game they had on episode 7 was the 4th round for Nishiura. They glossed over it so Nishiura can reach the big game on the 5th round, which is super far for a brand new baseball team. They're super impressive to beat so many times in their first tournament.

Damiester

The guy who you didn't recognise is Nishihiro. He's a reserve but extremely intelligent. So basically, you've only seen him show up on screen as a base coach or during Mihashi's birthday party.

Damiester

Mihashi's severely underestimated by everyone. In round 3, he also did some intelligent batting that no one gave him credit for.
