Nell's last lines really are heartbreaking. I think it can apply to her in life as well. Anyone who looked at her in her last few months, or maybe MONTH would be able to see that she was in a bad place, and that she needed help, comfort. But it seems like most of her family didn't see, or didn't want to see. "I was right here and I was screaming and shouting and none of you could see me. Why couldn't you see me? I waved and jumped and screamed, and you didn't even look. None of you even looked."

God, so chilling when you put it like that, with the quote💔🤧😢 Definitely applied to her in life. What's also interesting, and sad, is that she herself never paid any attention to herself. Like their father said, she never wrote anything in the letters about herself but only about her siblings. It's like she learned to be invisible. And symbolically speaking, she never did realize the bent-neck lady was actually her all along...😞
