Important update about Patreon access issues

Dear Patreon members,

I’ve spent a lot of time recently investigating and fixing some ongoing access issues, and I discovered something that honestly surprised me.

Over the past week, some of you were unable to vote or play the full version of Gaizellic Adventure. At first, I thought this was a simple bug—but it turns out the situation is more complicated.

Patreon doesn’t send me clear data like “this person is on the $5 tier” or “this person is on the $10 tier.” Instead, it sends a lot of indirect and sometimes confusing information, and I have to interpret that data to decide who should receive which benefits.

For example:

Some members pay $10, while others pay $14.50 for the same tier due to Apple fees.

Some members have canceled, but their subscription hasn’t expired yet—so they should still have access until the expiration date.

While trying to account for all of these cases, some of my code unfortunately got mixed up. It took a lot of testing and fiddling, but I believe I’ve now addressed most of the edge cases for Gaizellic Adventure. Next, I’ll be doing the same for Gaizellic Contest.

What I’d like to ask is this:If you’ve paid for something but are being denied access, please contact me directly and let me know. That’s the only way I can identify and fix these issues properly. Going through real cases one by one is the best way for me to fully understand how the Patreon API behaves in all situations.
