Remember when Naruto tunneled underground to KO Neji during the exams? Was that earth style and why couldn't he just do it here lol.

To be fair it seems that barrier was covering underground as well but I’m just guessing here lol

Nvm it actually does since it seems the ground is regenerating as well.. I didn’t got that further into the episode when I commented that.

No that moment wasn’t earth style. This is still years before Naruto even knows what a chakra nature is. He just used brute force to tunnel. As for this situation the opponent Jirobo has essentially a dome of earth surrounding them that heals using chakra while also absorbing those whose trapped inside. So Naruto couldn’t break it at his current energy.

Jack haha I was second guessing myself as I commented that. I also was like 3 min into the episode too. Shedrick I was always curious about that. I remember Kakashi did something similar during the bell test, so I figured maybe it was like a part one mistake. Something like Naruto learned/copied based on what he saw kakashi do.

I really do like how this episode showed why Choji is necessary to the team.
