So the ep they flashed back to and reanimated was episode 19. That aired in March of 2000 originally. Watching on release from the start (assuming you’re watching the eps that air on tv and not recap specials) the last time a viewer would’ve naturally seen that (the full run back, not bits and pieces of snapshots via a tiny clip here and there) was more than 23 years ago. Hence the lengthy flashback. Some of these reanimated flashbacks sometimes get pulled from some of the reanimated retellings they’ve done, which they rolled into a bundle called episode of East Blue, which I recommend folks watch, despite the hypersensitivity to flashbacks, as they’re absolutely gorgeous and a good reminder of the roots and how far we’ve grown At the risk of being crucified for this opinion, I must confess that I have always found zoro to be one of the less interesting characters Oda has written, I won’t go into details and assault people’s favorite character (since almost every one piece fan says he’s their #1), but that’s just, like, my opinion, man. But honestly, when the story does what it arguably does best in these character driven moments, accompanied by the swelling crescendo in the OST, it gets me every time, regardless. The hype is very much real haha I don’t know if Patreon has a way to mute the comment section or disable it or something, but if it does it might be a good idea to do so for the next… like… 15? I think? Something around that, you’ll know when. As great as this community is, we are entering major spoiler territory, and seeing as some random folks have been joining recently, it might be smart, since idk if you guys have anyone modding comments atm Either way, everything is coming to a head, in more ways than one. The golden age of reactions is upon us fellas
