The Danzo hate is hilarious. If that toad went to get Naruto, it would have been before Naruto could use Sage mode. Naruto didn't know that he couldn't use the Toad on his shoulder yet. He would have shown up in sage mode, got captured even faster (cause sage mode would run out) and the leaf would be squashed just the same. And I'm still not understanding why Danzo is being blamed for the Uchiha massacre when it was stated that the Entire Uchiha Clan (minus Sasuke and Itachi) were planning to start World War 3 with a coup of the Leaf village. The Uchiha are at fault for the Uchiha Massacre. Not Danzo. Danzo is definitely an asshole, but not the villain.

Thats not the point, Danzo wasn’t thinking about that, he didn’t know if Naruto learned it or didn’t he just did not want him to come help. Your comment on that part almost sounds like you are saying it was good danzo did that. In some way yes but then we’re having a meta convo about the story with info the characters don’t have “ in the end it was good that danzo intervened cause..” heat and hus were commenting in the moment about the act danzo did. This is how they are feeling about danzo rn Yeah I don’t think uciha massacre was his fault I think you have a valid point with that Gotta remember that if you have watched all of the show you have a better look on certain characters. What’s in the front of their mind is that danzo is a snake. Again they might be wrong But with more information through the story their opinion might change . Or they might keep thinking he’s a hoe 😂

Karheem Danzo kept Naruto away because he did not want Pain to capture the Nine Tails. Based on the information that the characters had at that time, he thought Naruto would be captured by Pain. And that is exactly what happened. Even being able to use Sage Mode was not enough to stop him from being captured. He had to be saved by Minato. (No one planned for that). The point is Danzo does dark, ugly things in the shadows to keep the village going. But they are done for the village.

I see your point about danzo. My point is him thinking something is good for the village doesn’t mean we should like how he goes about it or accept it.

Something I rarely see people point out is that the scenario playing out in this flashback here is almost exactly the one that Kakashi taught to Team 7 during the bell test at the beginning of the series. He sits on top of Sasuke's back and holds a kunai to his neck, then orders Sakura to kill Naruto to save Sasuke's life as a mock scenario
