Just a quick reminder that Vegapunk/Shakka already said back when Vegapunk was first introduced (remember he phased in and was stuck to the giant robot) that the robot was created during the Void Century, and had attacked Marijoas around 200 years ago. It went inactive before actually causing any real damage and was supposed to be destroyed by WG order, but instead scientists of the time hid it away to study it. Now Vegapunk has been trying to figure out its power source and modeled his Vegaforce01 after it.

Bonney realizing Luffy is Nika is one of my favorite Egghead bits, just so cathartic to see. Getting that and the entrance from the Giant Pirates really hits, nothing says "Emperor" like giants (+ a giant robot) making moves on your behalf killer discussion + reaction as always y'all, looking forward to the next!

Mannnnn why does Toei always have to do this… this chapter was so peak in the manga and they dragged and ruined so many scenes with awful composition. At least Dorry and Broggy was cool.

Jesus man, Toei really botched this. Bonney seeing Nika should've been as glorious and impactful as Oda made it to be in the manga. Also whyyyy did they make us watch Luffy bouncing around everywhere for the entire episode 😭

I mean even that didn't feel as impactful as it should. These are THE Giant Pirates!! Back after 100 years and they're coming for Luffy. He made them mobilize! It should be a huge deal. Instead it feels like just another event on the island
