A chapter an episode is terrible pacing by any anime standard. Oda isn’t dragging anything as the manga is incredibly dense. “They are just adapting what oda did” excuse only works if they are accommodating the manga chapters with the benefits of the anime medium. Which isn’t what is happening. The fault lies on toei for choosing to stretch out one chapter when most anime’s adapt 4 chapters an episode. But its calm, the remake, if successful, will right those wrongs That being said, I enjoyed this episode

you just said yourself that the chapters are dense, much more so than most other animes, but my point was that it's an improvement from past toei where we would sometimes only get half a chapter. I'm not making an excuse I'm stating facts. Don't get emotional on me

Kinda even though its seasonal they still doing one chapter per ep which if fine for some chapter because they are pretty dense with context but for the eps that adapt shorter eps it drags a little bit. the Next three episode are going to be really good

yeah compared to other manga one piece chapter are very dense I do think for the shorter chapters toei can probably adapt 1.5 or 2 but its fine right now its just building up the beginning so we can understand everything once everything kicks off

You said the manga also has fault in dragging content. Which for all intents and purposes, isn’t really the case when considering the actual perpetrator of dragged content (toei). Nor is it actually dragged in the first place as the pacing on a per volume basis carries the story significantly with little filler/dragged content in between (each chapter takes 5 minutes to read, which is quick and concise vs the anime showing 10 minutes of rodo) Now to address your second comment. I completely agree. Past toei was horrendous, at least now they have proper end of chapter cliffhangers. Toei nerfed one piece, but without toei one piece wouldn’t be where it is today. So toei are still goated

Toei really needs to commit to 2 chapters an episode at least. The One Piece anime has consistently been liked whenever it's 2 chapters per episode, and consistently annoyed the audience whenever it's 1 chapter per episode, they have enough statistical data to prove this I don't know why Toei is still doing this.
