Ye, Luffy also mentioned a person who never sleeps way back in Chopper’s hometown, and that he heard it in a bar. Probably from Shanks who learned it from Buggy. There has to be some kind of connection if Oda thought about it this early.

One of the things i always wondered about why was Shanks had slashes across his eye when it was blackbeard who we didn't ever see use a weapon. The flashback kind of solidifies that BB still has that shit up his sleeve

The interaction between Shanks and Buggy about Blackbeard is especially interesting. Buggy said Blackbeard didn't sleep at all. A lot of people think Blackbeard may come from a snow island, because of something pretty random and inconspicuous Luffy tells Sanji all the way back during the Drum Kingdom arc that might be considered foreshadowing. He tells Sanji that someone in a bar once told him that "people from Snowy countries never sleep because they'll die if they do".

I always wonder who the baby that Roger is talking about when he was holding Hiyori, there's so many layers to this flashback that still hasn't been explained til this day... And I wanna just reiterate what I said on 958 reaction, Blackbeard always described peculiar, ties his beard in "3", carries "3" guns, etc, sometimes his missing tooth is different, sometimes his jewelry is different, never sleeps I wonder how ? haha

Yeah, im honestly a believer in that theory. That’s such an Oda thing to do lol, mention something seemingly random and obscure only to have it be relevant years later. It also helps that the Drum Kingdom Arc was the first time Blackbeard was mentioned in the story. We still don’t even know why BB decided to wreck Drum 😂

I'm inclined to believe it as well, Oda usually throws in random things that seem innocuous at the time but actually end up being important lol plus it would just be another testament to how good his foreshadowing is. And you're right, it hasn't been explained why BB was in Drum to begin with. Off topic a bit, I also believe Foxxy will eventually become relevant again, and that Gaimon in the treasure chest will also be important even though we've only seen those two (besides filler for Foxxy) a brief amount of time. Gaimon is also one of Oda's favorite characters, there has to be a reason right lol

Yes part of that theory is that the "guy in the bar" who told Luffy that is most likely someone on or associated with Shanks' crew while at Makino's bar, which would make sense

By the time Kuma told Rayleigh the plan, he already made usopp, zoro, brook and sanji disappear. Rayleigh then said he wish he could help, and thats when kuma jumped in between the fight and whispered the plan. Rayleigh couldn't stop them from getting sent
