Week 18 Whitney... and Bonnie?! (Patreon)

Here is this week’s winner for the bi-weekly pin-up poll, Whitney! … And Bonnie … and also two more variations for Patrons. I may have gone a little crazy on this one. Anyways this will be a quick aside and before I talk about plans for v0.07a.

This week, Whitney won the pin-up and so I started looking for a reference picture of a woman with curly hair. I found this exquisite pic of a model named “Danielle Ramona” sitting on the edge of a pool. The line art came quick enough but when I got to the coloring… it felt off. I fully admit my monochrome style I use in the game can come off flat, and that was not working for this picture. Switching to color for Whitney did help but then I needed shading to put it all together. After that I felt like the model fit the picture so well that it’d be interesting to just recolor it as her. I went to grab a skin tone from another Loud House background character named Bonnie and things started spiraling. And so I went a little far on this piece. I don’t add shading often, I mainly focus on speed, however I believe these pics came out very well. I will be saving the Gyaru Whitney and Model variations for Patrons but please enjoy the Whitney and Bonnie versions publicly.

Now onto the game talk. I got pretty distracted this week doing a commission but I did manage to redraw Luan’s bust. This will replace the temporary one I have in the bar scenes to help it feel more unified. The power icons are ready to be added to the game and now I’m debating how to implement the powers. For instance, approaching the heroines before they take a shower will prompt you to use the eye power. The menu makes it clear but I wonder if being able to cast the spell from your phone instead would feel more satisfying. There’s a lot of code on the phone and I don’t want to push Ren’py too far like I’ve done in the past. So we’ll wait and see.

After the tiebreakers,  the NPC final will be between Stella and Taylor. As this is the final NPC that will help to round the entire story I want to write a little bio for each before I publish the poll. So look out for that later today.

Thank you for your support and have a nice day.
