Week 37 Lisa's Peridot Cosplay (Patreon)

Hey everyone, this week's outfit is Peridot! I was quite surprised by this one. Steven Universe is another show that I admire for its art and, while I enjoy both, I didn't know if there'd a lot of overlap in the fandoms.

I did try for a more dynamic pose for this. I used an upright reference picture then tried to sketch it as if she was leaning forward. It kind of works at first glance but I did mess up the perspective. While drawing I noticed that Peridot's chest diamond is meant to touch the top of her pants unitard thing. As such, I tried to fix it. However, no matter how I warped the perspective it just looked wrong. In the end I decided that the flat obvious diamond got the point across however I think it may make it look like her chest was foreshortened.

Some other odd choices were in regard to her hair and glasses. In the game her hair comes across as messy. Lisa is supposed to be disheveled as she is too focused on other things. Here, I think it almost looks fashionable? At least, more put together. I think this is also because I chose only to do Peridot's visor and not Lisa's ginormous glasses. I can see her picking up contacts for the outfit but I do feel like you lose some recognizability for Lisa underneath.

Anyways, I'll have another post in a little bit with some game screenshots. There's been a sudden surge of support recently and I can't thank you all enough. Since there are so many people I think it may be a good time to start deciding who should be the second "Hunt NPC". It won't be the round robin round but I want to see what kind of personality people may want. Look out for those polls soon and have a good day.
