Week 4 Lily Loud Goth -ified (Patreon)

Last week’s pin-up poll winner was Lily! The goal of this specific poll was to get a little headway on “goth”-ifying certain characters that may appear earlier in the game. Lily’s intro is already in the game so this worked out very well. If people like the design decisions then I can start redoing the bust for the next update.

Lily’s design: For her “goth”-ification, I decided to play more into the fan idea of her leaning more into anime girl status. So I aimed to find a reference picture of a goth girl with some sort of cat eared headband. Instead, I stumbled upon an already “goth”-ified model with a beanie with points resembling cat ears. In the outfit reference, the look had a black and white beanie with matching gloves and leg warmers. Along with these accessories, she had a large t-shirt that almost acted like a short dress but I don’t know if it was meant to be one. I ran with this idea and used her light purple as highlights.

Here’s a few things I’m a little unsure of:

Due to her beanie, I got rid of her ponytail which makes Lily feel less distinct. Honestly, I worry she could be mistaken for Lana as she appears like she has short hair and a cap.

All previous busts only had one example of their main color, for example Leni’s belt is the only green visible in her default outfit. Lily’s design might have too much color and I think it might look better if the only purple was in the square of her shirt.

I’m trying different eye designs for all “goth”ed characters. For Lily, I was trying for smeared tears but kept her two lashed designs on the sides. I don’t think they work well together so I may change the lashes.

This is a very disjointed post but the holidays are a busy time. I’m aiming for a 1/9/24 release of version 0.03a so watch out for that. Now I need to finish dialogues and start bug testing. It seems like it’s coming up so quick that I can’t help but feel the pressure.
