Orsted is best girl. No one got to (through) Rudy's heart faster

Sage Bastien

Rudy just reacted the same way as when he encounter Ruijerd. Everyone is supposed to be scare of him so it's not really out of character. And i can't give any info about Orsted since even any hint could spoil haha

Jaron Clark

Skipping the beginning is a crime, the director put it that way for a reason. Idk who told you that XD

Adam

The curse on superd is a difused curse. a big curse on one guy (lapace) defused to many, weakening the invidiaul curse on each superd. A loop hole. Since diffused curse is much smaller (but spread across many). it's easier to dispel over time (granted it's still taken 400 years)

nikum

Who the flying f told you to skip the start of the ep ... Never listen to that person ever again ... Way to ruin an experience.

Ougi

Yeah ur right Chillih, it's because he doesn't have an in depth understanding of anatomy and biology. He essentially has to use the incantation to make up for his lack of medical knowledge.

Neko Moe Assassin

this episode is so peak. orsted is too damn cool

Felix Hilscher

Well, Rudy didn't understand in the situation that the other two were so scared of Orstedt. Because he felt *nothing* from Orstedt he treated him like a normal person. The disconnect led to this.

This is not spoilers. Other may have said this but in the video your spot on Chillih. This is all from the Light Novel during this fight. Some fighting context you understood pretty well. 1. During the entire fight Rudys Eye of Forsight is pretty much useless all he sees is like a garbled mess of possible attacks Orsted makes. Rudy is not good enough to comprehend them much less dodge them. 2. Orsted crushes Rudys lungs midway though the fight disabling a mages ability to fight. However Rudy is not just "any mage" he can use voiceless magic. So Rudy pumps air into his lungs manually to continue the desperate fight. 3. Orsted is confused on why Rudy does not use voiceless healing. Not fully realizing that Rudy has never learnt how to do that. That's basically it the rest of what happens is pretty straight forward. I'm not recounting he fight only putting a few things out there. In the LN you hear all of Rudys thoughts the whole way though. So it's cut and dry on what is happening etc.

Nice theorizing, I really enjoy when you are really close or when not . Pdt: Just dont consider "god" as divinity in this world (usually won't be the case), I wont explain why, but like i said in other reactions, god is also the top power level, is not necessarily a divinity.

True although a lot of people do agree that Rudy sometime has trouble reading the room. lol Like if you see Rujerd acting that way. Maybe it's time to not say anything. I thought Rudy spent most of this past life playing video games and watching anime. We all know a level 20 character when we see one! That's a silly D&D reference.

Midnight

This! But there is more to it then that. In the LN it should have been explained by now. But for the anime it's to soon to fully discuss it. So I can't go into. It's not just missing context? Well it is but still I don't want to get into it now. Basically it's something even as an avid Light Novel reader I still don't fully understand. But we will need to discuss it at a later time. If I remember I will come back to this in time. lol Now is not the time. P.S What I mean about not being able to discuss it. Is there are two types of LN content. Missing and rearranged? Missing is something the anime just lacks etc. And it's fine to just say it. It's not spoilers. But re-arranged means it will still come up but out of order etc. So it's still kind of spoiler. This situation is kind of both. In order to discuss it fully you need to be further into the anime.

Not going to lie though it was VERY INTERESTING! It does make your reaction stand out more! You basically saw it as it was shown in the Light Novel. So the author intended it the way you saw it. lol So personally while I would not usually recommend skipping any parts of the episode. Except the opening in season 2. You need to skip those for a while etc in my opinion! Keep that in mind. But honestly skipping the beginning was very interesting. Never seen that done before.

Midnight

Yes thanks for not saying anything! Spoilers are the worst.

AzyxA

No, I think skipping the spoiler at the beginning really increases the impact of the encounter.

AzyxA

I think skipping it was the right choice. The beginning just spoils the encounter.

AzyxA

lol, this comment is in every react video. The meme never dies 😂

AzyxA

So I would recommend pausing when you both want to talk. Especially in an episode like this. You missed some key information at the beginning of the encounter. Definitely worth going back to rewatch it.

AzyxA

Oh, and something else from the LN. It's been a while since reading it but that purple fireball he created was him visualizing a nuclear explosion. If Orsted hadn't absorbed it with that dragon gate, it would have blown up the mountain, killed them all, and irradiated the whole area.

nikum

It puts you in a state of fear, as if you're affected by Orsted's curse yourself. Such a pity people like you think they know better than the director and 99% of the fans who loved it and ruin it for others.

Jaron Clark

The beginning "spoiling" the encounter is the point, and a deliberate choice by the director to express the gravity of the encounter. It is an excellent narrative technique in the right circumstances. The shock value puts you off guard and has you asking questions during the slow part as well as simulates the fear that the other characters feel. We as the viewer are put way more on edge because we already know he's the real deal, there's no ambiguity. You spend the downtime of the episode leading back up to the encounter coming to terms with what is about to happen and it helps getting the "What, how, why???" out of the way to give room for the subtle lore dump that happens this episode and serves as foreshadowing for the future. The problem with this way of reacting to this episode imo is that I feel it leads to people not even noticing a lot of the impact Orsted's words and behavior have on the story and instead are too focused on "Oh god what is happening?" Thankfully, Chillih and Nesa still asked a lot of the right questions but I still feel like they could've picked up on even more if they watched it as intended.

aailysp

To push back on the author's intention, Rifujin is very hands on with the anime and if he didn't want that scene to be there its likely it wouldn't be there. Was just an outright bad suggestion to skip it from whoever did it.

floxer

the turn is pointing

Matthew

I think skipping the opening few seconds was the right call imo. I never liked the idea they kind of spoil what is coming later in the episode. It feels better to go in totally blind.

Mr. Every

Not the entire mountain, but a good chunk of it. Just because he visualized maximum output and he has the crazy mana, I don’t think it was mountain level, definitely city level though. Any city we’ve seen so far would’ve been erased with that spell.

Mr. Every

They do pause all the time, but they keep it fluid.

Mr. Every

It’s the naming convention they use for top powers in the world. From a mortal’s perspective, they are gods.

Mr. Every

To have pointed is to become turnt

Mr. Every

So basically, Rudy was reading the tension, but he didn’t have enough context. The vibes were off so he was trying to fix them, but at some point it occurred to Rudy this man might be important enough to have info to help him find his family. He asked about the mana disaster because ever since his encounter with Paul, he’s been desperate to do his part. He just fumbled, he’s not a genius, just smart for this world.
