This month's sleep themed audio is about: The monster hunter who came to love the monster she hunted

Speaker~

Vatra - A guild-recognised hunter of deep sea creatures. She is also known as the "witch harpooner," often using the nullification magic in her blood to take down her prey.

Listener~

A leviathan, based partly on the Abyssal Lagiacrus in Monster Hunter. Possesses powerful electric attacks. Communicates via limited telepathy and different frequencies of rumbling.

Backstory (months ago)

Vatra had you pinned. She had tracked you for weeks, and was about to be successful with the kill. This is when you COMMUNICATED with her, and you watched her eyes widen as she realised you could "speak." She decided to drop the recognition and resources she would have received for the kill, in exchange for information about a greater threat.

The Whispering White (the threat)

The Whispering White is a parasitic, colonial organism that seemingly just appeared one day. It spreads through the nervous systems of large, deep sea creatures, rewriting behaviour, turning solitary predators into pack hunters, making them unnaturally aggressive.

An network of human traders on The Surface has been harvesting this organism and infecting various large sea creatures deliberately, as it was discovered that infected tissue could be used to produce magical batteries. You both know the world is being set up for an ecological disaster.

You decide to work together as Vatra investigates the surface, and you look for clues and information in the deep sea. Your bioelectric field can burn away the parasite, making you immune.

Present time (this audio)

You meet Vatra in a massive, watery cave near an island. After exchanging information, Vatra performs maintenance on your physical form. You have some damage on you, and new barnacles are colonising your underside again...

Submit ideas for at least ONE of the following:

+ ASMR sounds! Maintenance/grooming a leviathan's different parts - which parts, and what sounds would it make?

+ How did you get injured, and what does Vatra do to help?

+ Vatra is the no-nonsense type but she's grown to like you, a lot. How might this be shown in the dialogue? (You can write the lines to appear in the audio)

+ The working relationship has turned into something more. What do you like about Vatra, and what keeps you coming back to her (other than delivering news and information)?
