I do feel for Ross in a sense though, because he was married to this woman for what was it…nine years and suddenly found out they were not only going to work out, but that many things were changing. I don't know what that feels like, but I can sympathize with that because changes hard for many people. Accepting that your marriage is over is bad enough, and he was blindsided. Then he has to accept and get used to another woman helping to raise a child and it’s completely different than what he pictured in his mind. I can see how it would be a very tough transition, but he’s doing it. I think he’s being very respectful while also expressing his feelings because they are valid just like Susan and Carol’s are. There is a very playful banter between Susan and Ross, but it’s not malicious in any way. I appreciate that they show all aspects of that because it is very real. I think a lot of people think that he should get over it overnight and accept that two women fell in love. Of course love is love and its such a good thing they found each other, but that doesn't discredit what Ross is going through. I think if you put yourself in his shoes, you would be feeling some big things too, and that’s important to remember and empathize with. They’re doing it though… little by little and getting more comfortable with the situation. I appreciate how they are showing it all because that kind of transition isn’t seamless nor void of feelings.❤️❤️❤️

It's funny that you ask this question bc I have always wanted a twin, or a full biological sibling for that matter (I only have half and step siblings) but to answer your question, no I don't think I would mind if a close friend wanted to date my hypothetical twin, it'd probably be a little weird at first but I would be happy for them and then, if it works out and they got married, my close friend would then be a part of my family. Win win!

I don't think I'd have a problem either- I think the problem will be others freaking out! But I have always wanted a sister - a twin would be cool too! In terms of children - I always pictured myself as a mum but for various reasons it hasn't happened. I am really happy with my husband and fur babies though, at times we both feel a tad sad about it; but we speak about it and realise it just not happening and we ok with it! We both have said we would've really depressed if we did not have our fur babies though hehe 😺😸

btw Ursula is a character that Lisa Kudrow played on Mad About You, the two women who talked to Phoebe in the coffeehouse were main characters from that show. They crossed over because both shows took place in New York and aired the same nights on NBC.

With the twin thing, I think it just depends on the situation. Like for Phoebe it's less about them being twins but more about not only them not getting along, but Ursula is not a very nice person and Phoebe thinks she is just going to break Joey's heart. So I absolutely understand where she is coming from. As for Ross, I think they make it out to be about Carol being a lesbian but it's more about the betrayal. Carol DID cheat on him and it would've been just as hurtful if she had cheated with a man. The writers just focused so much on the lesbian thing because of the time and it made for good laughs. Speaking of, at that time bisexuality wasn't really talked about that much but Carol may have very well been bi. However, lost of gays and lesbians were in relationships/married to the opposite sex before they came out and loved their partner on some level, even if they weren't  'attracted' to them in that way. Fun fact 1: The character of Ursula was created to explain Lisa Kudrow's ongoing role on the sitcom Mad About You. The two shows aired back-to-back on Thursday nights. Helen Hunt and Leila Kenzle also appear in this episode as their Mad About You characters and mistake Phoebe for Ursula. Fun fact 2: Nina is played by Jennifer Grant, daughter of actor Cary Grant. Btw no kidding, I've left the Christmas lights up until March/April a few times lol

Audrey, here is the full theme song music video. https://youtu.be/SCQGnVrTsAM?si=5SXId2UDimsqlwC6 I honestly was never sure if I wanted children either. My pregnancies were "whoopsies". I've had two full term pregnancies and a miscarriage. Both full term ones ended up being complicated and high risk. I wasn't sure I was going to terminate or not. I went through them both and loved the experience of something growing in me. Not everyone is like that though. That's perfectly fine. Parenting is hard. Yes, Ross needs to get ready for a full time commitment.

I am so sorry for your loss ❤

I don't think I'd have an issue with the twin thing. But I do think it would depend on my relationship with my twin. I kind of get being upset by it if you are not on great terms. And as far as pregnancies, I have had two kids of my own, and man it is weird how much you just give up control of your body. Like, your organs more around all over the place to make room. And then once you start feeling them move... It's wild. I didn't hate the experience, but I totally understand why some people would.

Carol is a lesbian, she's stated it multiple times so at least that's clear. I don't love the focus on making fun of that fact, but I do understand it for the time.... and I get Ross's side, his entire life plan was flipped because of this thing and while she has every right to be happy, he has every right to feel upset and hurt. He's not trying to harm anyone but deflecting pain with humor was the thing they did. For the twin thing, like everyone else, depends on if we are okay. Ursela and Phoebe are obviously not good with each other which would be a deal breaker. Honestly if my friend wanted to date my sibling who i obviously dislike by the fact I've literally never mentioned her and when brought up I'm visibly uncomfortable, I don't think they are a great friend. This episode is a bit of a hard one with plot points but it's important

I have mixed feeling about the Carol thing. Technically Carol cheated on Ross with her current partner. Being a lesbian or Bi doesn't excuse that. They kind of gloss over that whole fact for laughs/comedy, but that's really what happened.

Jill

Yeah, it's less the sibling/twin thing and more the "Ursula isn't a good person" thing. But if you haven't watched Mad About You you wouldn't know that. She is a flighty and somewhat rude waitress at the lead characters' favorite diner. I remember being impressed with the split screen featuring Lisa Kudrow as both characters back then. Now it just looks obvious. Mr. Heckles! He first appeared without a name in TOW the Blackout. He is a fan favorite and is always good for a laugh.

I think it would definitely depend on my relationship with my twin but, in general, I think I would probably be okay with them dating one of my close friends.
