The way I see it is that there really was not a Joey Phoebe thing 😅 it was just a friend helping a friend and it really showed how pure Phoebe’s heart is and how strong their friendship is 😊

Alicia

That scene between Phoebe and joey was just Phoebe being grateful that joey put their friendship first and she was moved by that. There was never anything more with that. ❤️

People always read more into the kiss, but it really was just Phoebe being a good friend and Joey realising it was her and not Ursula. He was so touched that she would do this for him (break up with him gently on Ursula's behalf) and Phoebe was shocked because one of her best friends kissed her 😆 Fun fact: The plot about the gang playing poker was inspired by the cast playing together on set. And I think it's obvious Ross won. Even before he said "look how happy she is" I knew. He would do anything for her, including "losing" when he HATES to lose.

What’s happening is a sitcom that ran for 3 seasons in 1976 and Dee was the sarcastic little sister of the brother on the show and yea Ross clearly had the better hand but didn’t want to let Rachel lose so he lost and let her win if he actually lost for real he would’ve showed his hand and would’ve been pissed in true Ross fashion🤣🤣

The kiss didn't really mean anything to either Phoebe or Joey. It's a sitcom situation where it didn't really matter in the long run. Phoebe was surprised it happened, but she's not interested in dating him, while Joey just sees her as a friend who was nice enough to dump him in a nice way, otherwise he would have been crushed and heartbroken over Ursula.

Absolutely he had better cards! He’s just that kind of guy, which is one of the things I love about Ross! And the thing is, I totally think he would have done that for any of them if they had just gotten bad news and needed a win. It’s not just because it was Rachel. It’s just who he is.

Oh he definitely had better cards lol. He reminded me of the first time my extended family let my sister join in on the poker game (she was like 11 or 12) and she was SO excited to finally be allowed to play. Most of the family treated her like any other player, cuz that was how they learned, but my dad and my great-aunt went easy on her and pretend like she kept beating their hands until she finally ran out of cookies (there was no way that they were playing for money with a kid involved). She's a much better player now at 25 and can hang with the best of them but she still cherishes that memory of that first game.

Yes i think he 100% had better cards! Also the fact that he did not let Chandler and Joey see his cards cemented that for me! I feel if the show did not do that I'd still be on the fence a bit more .

I think he absolutely had better cards than Rachel. A million percent!
