Danny and I are planning out our video collabs for November.

...Yes yes YES, Long Pond is happening.

but we need three more movies. We were thinking about the Mathew Perry doc that supposedly just came out? I can't find the name of it.

We were also thinking maybe Framing Britney, Prince: The Final Secret, Demi Stay Strong, Whitney 2018

Any other MOVIE/DOC suggestions within that same drug addiction, mental health frame of things?

Morgan

- Tina (Tina Turner documentary from 2021 - talks about her overall career but also talks her experience with domestic abuse and her mental health) - Janet Jackson (Janet Jackson docuseries from 2022 - The docuseries is about her overall career but there is conversation about how 2 of her ex-husbands dealt with drug addiction, and she also talks about how her issue has never been drugs but weight issues/self image issues.

Rebecca Karsner

The Runaways - Kristen Stewart kills it as Joan Jett

If you watch Demi’s staying strong documentary you HAVE to watch her Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated documentary. It came after her staying strong doc but it gives a lot more insight into her addiction and I think it is produced better. She was still actively using during the staying strong documentary. The simply complicated documentary is after she got out of rehab I believe for the second and it led to her six year recovery before her overdose. Both are great but I would definitely recommend watching both to fully understand! She is also more honest in the simply complicated documentary! Love y’all’s reactions!

I loved the Ed Sheeran docuseries as it covered Eds mental health and the death of his close friend from an overdose etc but I know you don't cover him so I can see that being something you're not interested in. But I just got my Mathematics tour limited vinyl so Ed has been on replay lol.. I second the Runaways movie! The music is clearly amazing and the cast nailed their roles!

Becca Murley

selena gomez's doc My Mind & Me is really good! it goes through her struggles behind the scenes with mental health and lupus.

Danielle

Rocketman, Judy, Ray, Straight Outta Compton, or the most recent Elvis would be an interesting for collabs since its both music and substance addiction. Bohemian Rhapsody doesn’t have as much substance addiction but is still a great movie.

Savvy H

Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields Documentary. It is about the darker side of the industry and has guest appearances too. For example Drew Barrymore is in it, and gets deeper than she did in the child star documentary.

Jay Johnston

It's a movie and not a doc but A Good Person is about grief and addiction. It stars Florence Pugh as Allison who has an addiction to pain killers after a car crash and Morgan Freeman as Daniel who is an alcoholic. can't say too much more about it without spoilers but it's pretty good

Lily Lindsey clark

The Elvis movie is really great and does touch on his drug problems towards the end of his life

All the demi lovato documentaries are amazing 🥺 I mean it’s not a film but the tv show one day at a time I find deals with many issues, like addictions, mental health, racism, homophobia etc, I love it so much I’ve watched it like 50 times 😂 Apparently my mind can’t remember anything else 😂

Jayda Riley

I believe the documentary Demi did on YouTube was called dancing with the devil? It talks about her overdose It was the first I’ve watched of hers and really good

April Moellendick

I don’t know how you feel about Queen but Bohemian Rhapsody was fabulous

Tema Krempley

High Fidelity on Hulu. It’s only one season, but it’s a great show.

Stay Strong is so good so I definitely think you should watch it, but Demi wasn't as open about her addiction yet and later she even admitted that she was under the influence of cocaine while filming it. She talks more about her eating disorder, self harm and bipolar diagnosis. I hope you can find it. It was aired on MTV but I don't think it's on any streaming service. She also made another doc called Simply Complicated and that's on YouTube. She talks more about her addiction there. Make sure to watch the Director's Cut. Dancing with the Devil, which Danny watched, is her most recent one after her OD. I don't know if Danny would be willing to watch it again but it's really good. Other docs/movies I recommend are: Justin Bieber: Never Say Never Justin Bieber: Believe Justin Bieber: Seasons Justin Bieber: Our World Ariana Grande: Dangerous Woman Diaries Ariana Grande: Excuse Me, I Love You Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me The 2022 Elvis movie with Austin Butler Bohemian Rhapsody Rocketman There is also an Elton John doc set to be released on Disney+ on December 13th (Taylor's birthday 😉). I hadn't heard there was a Matthew Perry doc coming out. Honestly, after looking it up I don't know how accurate it's gonna be or if it's even made with his family's approval/input. I do recommend his book, though it's not something you can react to unless it's an audio book. I haven't finished it but the only reason is coincidentally I had just baught it a few weeks before he died and I hadn't started it. Then when he did die I opened it and literally the first words were "I should be dead" (as in he had done so much drugs and alcohol that he didn't understand how he was still alive) and I closed it and started bawling 😭

Yes, it's called Simply Complicated and it's on YouTube. It's after Stay Strong and before DWTD.

Elisha Li

Billie eilish documentary? She herself isn’t an addict but she was dating someone manipulative and who had a drinking problem at the time, and it includes how it affected her. But it revolves heavily on mental health topics as well as seeing how brilliant those siblings are :)

Elisha Li

This isn’t a movie but i really want you two to react to the Daisy Jones and the Six album!! Danny is watching the show on his patreon now but would love your reaction to the music. The female vocalist is Elvis’s granddaughter

Yeah there’s 4 all together, stay strong, simply complicated, dancing with the devil and child star 😁 Haven’t seen child star yet but the other 3 all made me cry 🥺
