Yes I agree with you for the last 3 relationship I have had for context the first was on and off for 4 years the second was 3 months and the third was 4 months I have always made it clear from the moment we chose to be in a relationship that I want kids and that it a thing I will not change and it's not worth it to me if they don't cause I have service baby fever and have since I was 13 and I'm now 21 nearly 22 and it only gets stronger as I get older or anytime I see kids or when I see baby cloths in shops I get very giddy and happy If I was in a healthy relationship I would have already had a child or to I can't wait for the day that test says positive but I have to find the right man first it's like fining a needle In a haystack

I absolutely agree that whether or not to have kids is something people should talk about early on. It's very hard to make a relationship work if one wants kids and the other doesn't. Of course people can change their minds but some might cave just to keep being in the relationship which is never a good idea. I want kids and always have, so I would make that clear from the start (same with marriage). I also agree that shielding kids from EVERY bad/sad thing is not good, but you do also have to make a judgement call on how much is too much for a kid of a certain age. Regarding the story of Danny's nephew, I had no idea what you were actually talking about because all I heard is "douche", as in douchebag, and have never heard the word in the context you meant (granted, English is not my first language) 😂 Anyway, funny thing about when Ross is trying to get Ben to say "dada" is that the kid actually kept saying it, so they had to retake the scene several times: https://youtu.be/F_PW5knyWVE?si=la0BAj5z08wJ88bI. Also, Ben's first word is "Hi", just like Ross's first word in the pilot (and the show).

I definitely think that it’s important to still expose kids to negative things that can happen in the world because that’s just real life. If they are only exposed to puppy dogs and rainbows their whole childhood they will not have a clue how to process and deal with the inevitable negative things that do happen to them or around them as adults. Starting young with tiny things will prepare them for the larger things as they mature and it won’t be nearly as traumatic then. Also teaching them how to recognize, feel, and process their emotions is so incredibly important.

Some people are saying they can’t see the episode in the main chat but it obviously shows up for us but thought I’d comment here.

I do think it's important to say early on what you are expecting. I did with my hubby I was clear I wanted kids, he was ok with that. Unfortunately life happened though and now it just will not be fair to have a kid, but again we talked about it for hours like really making sure we were both genuinely ok. We agreed that as long as we have a fluffy animal to look after we are happy. So we have our two cats - I gotta say if I couldn't have cats I'd be super depressed.

i don’t think it matters when the kid convo happens but as long as it happens and depending on the people in the relationship. in my longest relationship we always talked abt kids but towards the middle of the relationship i changed my mind and told my then boyfriend i didn’t want kids anymore.

For my relationship in particular it just wouldn't have really worked out to have the kids conversation early on because we got together in high school, I was 15 he was 16, and neither one of us knew exactly what we wanted at the time. I was pretty sure I wanted kids but I was far more focused on just graduating. Once we were college age and had been together for long enough to realize that this wasn't some teenage puppy love thing, then we started having the grown up talks about marriage and kids. We have now been together for almost 2 decades (dated for 13 years, married for 2) and kids are still very much part of the plan once life stabilizes a bit and we can properly afford to bring a baby into the world.

I think it should probably be talked about early on if you could see a potential future with the person but if you're just dating around then idk. I'll be bringing it up right away my next relationship since, like yourself, I've had a hysterectomy and can no longer have any kids.
