Elizabeth

The theme song is by the same person that sings “you’ve got a friend” so that’s why the vibes are similar.

emmy

Only watched it through once and the year in the life episodes too after, this is my second re-watch with you. Definitely enjoying. 🤎

Kelsey Ryan

This is my comfort show. I watch it all the time and am so happy to watch you watch it! Been looking forward to the next episode all week!

Wrai Vizner

I can't find the first episode of Gilmore Girls that you watched on here. I've been watching it since I was little and it was on TV, so about 23/24 years. Which means I've re-watched this show an insane amount. I love that the older I get, I feel definitely about the characters and can understand the different jokes and references. The older I've gotten. I'm so happy you're watching this 😁❤️

Lisa - Marie

this is a comfort show for me, annual rewatch every autumn (fall) with a blanket and pumpkin spice latte or hot chocolate

Jordyn Mickus

I have always heard about the show but this will be my first time watching the show.

KyraB

I do as others have already mentioned and rewatch this show every fall. It is a tradition and a comfort.

Bey Brown

It’s not a new show for me. I watched it way back when it first came out and really liked it. Earlier this year or maybe even last year I rewatched it for all the nostalgia feels and because I could not remember how it ended. lol looking forward to your opinions.

Michelle

This might be my fifth or sixth rewatch of Gilmore girls! Excited to watch it together! 💖

Omar Rodriguez

I have to admit that I did added this show in my Netflix’s watchlist way back when but never got to it, so this is my first time watching it.

Huggabunchable

This is my comfort show. i binge the whole series AT LEAST once a year.

Gavin DeFazio Devine

I have never seen this show and lots of people have been telling me to watch it so I’m excited to start this journey with you!!

Savvy

The song you were saying sounds like the intro "You've got a friend" . Is also Carole King lol. Both written and sung by her.

Mari Castro

The theme song of Gilmore Girls and the one you where singing are in the same Carol King record "Tapestry",

Lara Ekholm

I always forget that Paris was supposed to be this mean girl because every time I think about her I think about later seasons

Mel86

I have watched this show many times with my daughter. I love it

fry

nick?!! lmaooo i haven’t watched this ep in a while cause i was like who is nick

gavin

I tried watching this before but for whatever reason stopped after a couple of episodes so I’m glad to watch it again !!

AGNES

For me, it's the first time watching the show.

Angela

It’s great that you’re already liking Emily, you aren’t meant to dislike her even though her and Lorelei have a tense relationship and she can be very harsh. Understanding both of their points-of-view is sort of the crux of the show. She too is a “Gilmore Girl” after all

Ronda Bennett

I don't remember when I first watched it... pretty sure the early 2000s. Then my daughter and I used to watched around 2014 or so... Hearing the theme song still makes me teary-eyed. So many memories. I would always start again from time to time but never consistently all the way thru... I'd just go to my favorite episodes lol. I'm excited to watch it all the way thru... It is a slow burn to start, but your gonna LOVE it more and more with every episode! The character development alone is enough to stick around on its own!🤗 Fun fact ... NOT a spoiler, don't worry lol Rori... Alexis Bledel plays in The Handmaid's Tale. FAR different character from her Rori days lol. She's so good!

Alex Rogner

I first watched it back in 2017 and have rewatched two or three times since then. Its one of my comfort shows

Caitlin Green

I am so glad we got another episode so fast!!!!! GG is one of my top 5 shows and a yearly rewatch for me so I am loving this!!!!!!!!

Karley Harper

Since it's a private school that she is going to, everyone in that school is smart. So I'm sure things seem backwards from a regular school with the bullies, preps, burnouts, etc. The headmaster even said Chilton is very competitive, and all the students want to get in to Ivy League schools. But there are also kids in the school, like Tristan (the blonde bad hottie) that his family has money and is forced by his family to go to Chilton.

Veronica Key

I love your thoughts on this episode so much! You were right on point with feeling like you’re supposed to take Lorelei’s side but you don’t. Nothing is ever black and white with this show. You can talk forever about the character dynamics in this show and how you can connect it to real life people. What I love about the show is that it’s very real. None of the characters are painted out to be a hero. All of the characters have a good side, but they also have bad sides to them too. I relate a lot to this show. My mom was very much like Lorelei. Growing up, my grandma Was always wanting to be more involved with me and my siblings. My mom took it as overstepping sometimes. My mom has always been very independent and wanted to provide everything for us without any help. Which it’s good to not rely on people when you don’t have to sometimes. But like you said her mom really just wanted to be more involved out of a place of love and not with any malicious intent. I can see both sides of it. I see a lot of people demonizing some of the characters online, but I think we can all find similarities with some parts of the characters and ourselves. It’s funny cause I’ve watched the show so many times but every time I watch it I’ll find myself relating to one character and then I’ll rewatch that episode and I’ll be relating to the other character. It kinda just depends on where you’re at in your life.

Emily Skeen

This is my first time watching with you

Tara Cabache

I grew up watching it, though not real-time (in the early 2000s, but likely a few seasons behind). It was on at 4 every day when I was about 12-14 and I would rush home as fast as I could from the bus to catch the second half of the episode. I watched it in full for the first time when I was in college and the whole thing was added to Netflix. Since then it is one of my comfort shows to re-watch, along with Friends!

Annie Willow

I think it is completely natural for Emily to want to help her granddaughter succeed but her approach is completely disrespecting Lorelai as her mother as well as Rory. She doesn’t even ask if she needs/wants more uniforms or faster internet and just pushes she wants onto them. Their relationship is fraught with horrible communication and no clear boundaries.

ThereseAD

Seen it many times. It's a big comfort show for me, my big sisters loved it when I was little and I fell in love with it as a teenager. Fun fact people don't often notice: At the end when Luke comes out, it's not just him "looking longingly" at Lorelai, but he also flips the open sign to closed as soon as he sees them walking away and he goes back in, implying he stays open just for them of an evening.

Kolby Johnson

I’m so glad I get to watch this for the first time with youuuuu.

Michelle Bobo

i started watching this with my grandmother when it came out i was around 12 years old so its very nostalgic for me but i havent seen every episode and i havent seen it all the way through so im excited to do that with you

Astoria

I disagree with the "don't call out answers in class - let her shine" If there's someone like Paris you don't have to pull yourself down so she can be the star. If you know things, if you're smart (and Rory is very smart) show it. Now is the time for Rory because she is new at the school, the teachers don't know her yet but they know Paris. Keeping yourself small because of a bitchy person is always the wrong way.

Van Evans

I've seen the first couple of season a few times but I've never gotten around to finishing the series, so I'm exited to watch it with you!

Shelby Dyson

I discovered gilmore girls around 2016ish when I was in college and was absolutely obsessed, so much so that I vowed I would name my daughter Lorelai if I had a girl (which finally came true this year). I will say the more I watch the show certain things and ways the characters behave drives me crazy.

Ana Vazquez

Emily isn’t showing love she’s trying to control Lorelai. If she really wanted to show love she would respect Lorelai’s boundaries. Also keep in mind Chilton is a highly competitive private school. The “dumbest” kid here would be a straight student in a public school. I speak from experience I went to a private school. We had kids who would flunked out go onto to public school and be excellent students there.

Tereza

Please tell me she will be good and i will like her

Lucy

I watched this around 10 years ago and since then I rewatch it annually every Autumn as it's so comforting. I gotta say the lady that plays Paris is very good in my opinion, and Paris is one of my favourite characters in the show. I will not give out spoilers but I will be interested to see everyones thoughts on their favourite/ least favourite characters and why as we progress 😃

Lucy

Dito mine too! 🩵💙🤍

Lucy

Me too, every Autumn 🍁

Lydia Shepard

I watched this show when it originally aired and then watched it again when it was available on Netflix. I then rewatch episodes sporadically. I’m never really one to rewatch an entire series I usually just watch whatever episode I feel like watching. Also when it originally aired the I did have to stop after watching the first episode of the 7th season as it wasn’t the same since there were different showrunner/writers but I then watched it right before the Netflix sequel A Year in the Life came out so I could be prepared for the revival. I am all for rewatching the whole series though as I pretty much just always watch the same episodes it would be good to watch the whole thing again!

Alicia

I watched when it first aired. Then when it came out on DVD I rewatched it constantly and now I watch the first 6 seasons at least once a year. And the finale but season 7 can burn.

Ryan Hemauer

I love this show and watching you react to it. That said, I cannot do individual episodes; not your problem obviously, but I say that in case you don't feel like you're getting the views to continue watching the show. The fast-paced nature of this show lends itself to binging multiple episodes, so please keep watching it!!!

Jennifer Sauer

4:05 — I love that you mentioned “You’ve Got A Friend,” because both songs were written by and featured on the LEGENDARY Carole King’s album, “Tapestry.”

Leanne W

Gilmore Girls is one of my absolute favourite shows. I watch it every single Autumn without fail, but I've decided to watch it with you this year! You'll love the characters and then hate them and back again. There is always the debate on Rory's boyfriends about who is the best, so I look forward to seeing who you like best! I won't spoil my saying who my favourite is. Can't wait for you to delve into this

Jaz

I watched the show when I was first going to high school and then every year since 😭 love this show. So almost 10 years since the first time I watched it💗

Madeline Jensen

I technically started watching it in 2019 with my mom and younger sister, but I had heard about it before then. I only got to about season 3, not because I didn’t like it, but because I wanted to watch other things at the time. I tend to get attached to a show for a while and kind of obsess over it, but then I will start to get bored and need to change it up for a bit. So, I forgot I hadn’t finished the show, but I know how it ends and what happens to the characters.

haralove09_

You would love ONE TREE HILL

Koko

Thank you 👍 for another fun 🤩 reaction! I am an original release viewer 📺 here. This series is one 1️⃣ of the best & it’s so awesome 😎 to see your fresh perspective. Thank you 😁❤️!

Rachel

I am a lifetime Gilmore Girly! I watched them as they came out in the 2000s! It always has, and will remain to be, my ride or die comfort show! So glad you're doing this! This pushed me to your patreon, and I've never been on anyone's Patreon!

Ahzet

Mary… as in Virgin Mary.

🍭

Personally, Emily’s my favorite Gilmore Girl. I even dressed up as her for Halloween one year 😆 I saw the show as a kid growing up, with my older sister. Now I think I’ve seen it four or five times? But funnily enough, I’ve never seen the last season or the reunion season. I always end up stopping after the fifth season or partway through the sixth just to start all over from the beginning the next time I feel like binging it. If you get through all the seasons maybe I’ll watch the later episodes with you for the first time. 😂

Hannah

if you haven't watched schitts creek i would absolutely love to see you react to it!! Hilarious show and not too long either!

fire12wife

I started watching them in 2012. I saw a couple of episodes on tv. Then got the DVDs. I've watched it on constant repeat since then! NEVER enough Gilmore Girls!!! The Theme song is written and sung by the great Carol King and her daughter!

Emily Savidge

I started watching live from episode 9 of season 1. I had plans on Thursday nights (or originally aired on Thursdays before switching to Tuesdays) so I wasn't able to watch the new WB show until I had a week when I was home. I taped it for the rest of the season and was a die-hard fan from then. Bought the seasons on DVD as they came out

Yasemin

My favorite show of all time. I watched it partly when it was airing back in the early 2000s, and nowadays, it's constantly on repeat. I cannot count the times I've watched this. It is like no other show for me, and so much fun! The quick banter and pop culture references and back and forth and quirkiness is just something else! It is a very WARM and extremely comforting show.

Yasemin

Emily is a Queen. :)

Meghan

I watched the first few seasons of the show while I was in high school and loved it! I didn't keep up with it after that. To be honest - as an adult I think Lorelei needed better boundaries as a mom with Rory and there was a little bit too much parentification. Overall though I think all of them loved each other and all had very different ways of relating

Shaliek

Wait this makes so much more sense now why it sounds like two people. HOW DID I NEVER KNOW THIS?!??

Lindsey Swift

Glad I found you to watch/join along on your journey! I started watching this show in 2004 when my first son was born and have watched it about 100+ times since. If nothing else, it's always playing in the background lol!!! PLUS, Hello to my girls that I know from other channels!!!!

Grace Stockwell

Believe me you'll rethink Emily as the show goes on..there's a reason Emily and Lorelai are estranged
