Also we didn’t have to wait a whole year - closer to like 4 months. Season usually ended in May and started the following September.

I was never a Ross and Rachel person, maybe that's why season five is my favorite because up until now with Chandler and Monica, there was nobody I really rooted for romantically.

Chandler and Monica are definitely one of the best tv couples and are a million times better than Ross and Rachel

I should rephrase what I said. What I meant to say was S5 & 6 were to me their peak, but I can't speak for everyone, but it was generally agreed upon that S 4-6 were their strongest seasons storyline wise. I'd say S7 was when it dipped a little but they came back with S8 which was most would say, their next peak.

When you said 'are they both having breakdowns', this is why I feel uncomfortable in some episodes as yes you are right Audrey I feel they are of a time when mental health wasn't really a thing, and I don't like laughing at that in some of these episodes. Although I know it was meant to be funny.

I looked it up if David Schwimmer really messed up his lines when he said Rachel’s name. This is what I found: “During a rehearsal for a different episode, Schwimmer mistakenly said, "Rachel, the taxi's here" when the line was supposed to be "Emily, the taxi's here". The show's writers and producers thought this accidental slip of the tongue was brilliant and decided to incorporate it into the storyline for the wedding episode as a major cliffhanger and plot point. Therefore, while the initial inspiration was a genuine mistake, the actual line spoken at the altar in the final filmed episode was intentionally written into the script for dramatic effect.”

There's a scene in the extended cut right after Rachel talks to Ross. It's really short but showcases a lot more that Rachel had her moment of clarity and wouldn't be getting involved with Ross stuff going forward.

I think when people are saying that season 5 is the peak of friends, its because that season is better and a little funnier than the rest of the seasons (we are excited to see more of Chandler and Monica). Not that it goes downhill afterwards. I would say season 6-10 is the same as 1-4🥰 anyway, you are the best!
