I sadly agree with Emily on this one, not the delivery but the message. There is just too much at stake for everyone, Max could lose his job Rorys social life and reputation at the school and also her grades in his class could come in to question if someone bring up the fact that she could potentially get special treatment. And I think this episode shows how the "Bestfriends before parent child" is a problem. Lorelai is making all the rules and pulling the mom card while arguing with Rory in the school. She argues that the rules she made up for dating should not be questioned when she made Rory go open the door and talk with Max earlier in the episode "breaking the rules".

Agreed. As someone who acted like my mom's best friend growing up, I definitely relate to Rory a lot, especially that scene where she's comforting her mom while she's crying. Let's just say always having to be the mature one as a teenager leads to some negative effects in the future lol

I think Emily was right but went about it the wrong way as usual. She always seems so judgemental of Loreali all the time. And I'm sure Paris will keep growing on you more and more🙂.

In the early 2000s, 'tramp stamps' were a very popular type of tattoo. every girl wanted one, including me. However, my father was against it, so instead I got a tattoo on my upper arm during a spontaneous visit while on holiday. I was 15 at the time. In hindsight, it wasn't the best idea because I hadn't given any thought to the design and just randomly chose a template from the catalogue. It was a Chinese symbol for 'love' (yes, it really means love, not sweet and sour chicken or anything like that). Of course, because, as I said, it was the early 2000s. It was painful and took an hour and a half, rather than the expected 40 minutes, because I bled so much. This wasn't due to my veins or anything like that, but because the tattoo artist had tattooed it much too deeply. Basically, for more than 20 years now, it's just been a coloured scar. Long story short, parents who get along with their children are great, but they also need to realise when their child needs them as a parent instead of a friend.

My mother left me and my father when I was 7, but I still remember the story about my hamster. She didn't like how loudly he drank, so the cage had to be moved to the kitchen. One day I came home and the cage was empty. She told me that my hamster had been burned in the sun. Which was a lie, of course. She had taken him to the police and declared him a "found animal" in order to get rid of him and hopefully get some money. Yes, she was such a terrible person and I'm not sad that she's no longer in my life.

Aww this episode man, again so complex but very well delivered I thought. And even though Lorelei did bring it on herself with her insecurities, and kissing Max at the school, it still gets me every time I see the end scene with her crying on the bed. 😭 I also feel for Rory always being caught in the middle of everything, and needing to be the 'grown up' when she still a tennager. And Paris, for her parents shit, and yes she shouldn't have told everyone, but she wanted the attention off her, as she insecure too. Oh I love Suki asking Jackson out too, I always forget how cute that scene is 🥰❤️
