Your feeling about Elena... not really caring for her... or not getting attached to her is veryyyyy common in the fandom... especially early on. I; however, really love elena 😆... but I think im a rarity

Guys let her get there on her own like we all did instead of giving so much away. I have seen a few comments on the other episodes too giving way too much away. We want her to enjoy the show and look forward to it so that she will keep on reacting to it for us. It will get boring for her if everyone keeps telling her things about things to come! We can all discuss it in detail when its finished.

i had commented on the first episode post, that i never was able to fully get on board with elena. there are times where i felt for her in very particular situations. however, she really frustrated me and sometimes i admittedly truly disliked her. i think i just vibed more with caroline, she has great character development over the seasons, and candice accola-king portrays her in a way that makes her very lovable and relatable, flaws and all. she's one of my favorite characters of all time, truly.

Also on the Elena thing, I never developed a fondness for her like I have for some of the other characters, for the most part she’s kinda blah to me. Can’t wait for the next episode! We get some Salvatore brother’s backstory! Season is really gonna start picking up now, so excited.

Ah this is one of my favourite shows! This was at the hype of everything Vampire when it first came out, it has cringe moments but it's still an awesome show with lots of mythical lore. I don't know if someone has already said in a previous episode but you will notice that Elena and Damon have a shit ton of chemistry, that's because the actors (Nina and Ian) ended up in a relationship for a good while. Also Nina and Paul (Stefan) hated each other at the start of the show! Different kind of chemistry 😂 Paul and Ian are besties and have an alcohol business together, Bourbon I think. Also, Caroline is one of my favourite characters! You'll grow to love her. To this day I will die on the Klaroline ship. When you get there you'll know 😜

Elena, Damon, Bonnie & Caroline are my favorites. Caroline more later though. An unlikely friendship develops later in the series between 2 characters that end up being my favorite friendship. You’ll know when you get there.

I agree with you that Stefan should definitely have some better excuses if he knows he’s gotta lie to Elena, but then I remember that even though he’s 145 (or 162 if you count the time before he was a vampire), he’s still just a 17 year old boy and he still has a little bit of that mentality. He’s giving Elena stupid boy answers when it comes to the questions she asks and with the way Elena acts sometimes, I forget that she’s 17. She’s more mature than most people her age, at least in my opinion, and sometimes it’s like Elena is older than Stefan. I will admit out of all the characters, Elena, Caroline, and Jeremy are the ones that were harder for me to get to like. I did eventually end up loving every single one, but probably Jeremy more than Elena and Caroline. I really feel for Elena and Jeremy though. I lost my mom and my dad is barely hanging on, so I feel the loss and some episodes are very hard to watch because it brings a lot of my own memories and feelings out, and I remember acting out a little bit just like Jeremy so maybe that’s why I didn’t like him as much in the beginning? Maybe because I saw so much of myself in him and it kinda makes me sit back and think “did my friends and family feel the same way about me?” And it is really hard to forget that they’re all actually teenagers because of the fact they’re always at the Grill playing pool and you never really see a lot of parental authority. My high school years were never like that. There were parties like some of the ones you’ll see throughout the show, but I was never invited to them. Those parties were for all the popular kids (athletes, cheerleaders, our student council, etc.). I mainly hung out with the stoners and the artsy type kids, but that was mostly at the football games. You know how everyone goes to the games, but never actually watches them. When I wasn’t doing any of that, I was sitting at home either writing fanfiction or playing The Sims 😂😂. Anyway, kinda got off topic hahaha But I am really glad you decided to watch this show. I had actually let Patreon go for a while because I couldn’t really afford it and I happened to be on YouTube last week when I saw your reaction for episode 1, and when I tell you that I couldn’t renew my Patreon quick enough, I mean it. I actually almost broke my phone because I got so frustrated that the website wasn’t loading quick enough on my phone. I ended up throwing it because after I clicked the subscribe button, it declined my card and said that I wasn’t allowed to join your channel. Hence why I messaged you and asked if you blocked me or something, because I was so confused and so mad that I was gonna have to just watch the edited versions on YouTube. I threw my phone so hard, I cracked my screen protector. 😂😂 But, I figured it out and I’ve been binging ever since! I really love your work, Audrey, and I can’t wait to see what’s next! 💕
