Watching this when I was Rory's age, I was totally on her side about how you needed to work around the rules. But now that I'm older than Lorelai (😭😭😭) and a mom, I would tie my kid up by his shoelaces if he pulled that crap. Ahhhh the wisdom of being so old a sneeze can send you to the hospital.

The Jared Padalecki playing Dean here and Sam in Supernatural is extra funny because, when he's at conventions for Supernatural stuff, fans sometimes bring it up and Jared always teases Jensen (the actor that plays Dean on Supernatural) that he was Dean first so he's the "real" Dean.

It’s funny that you keep saying that luke and Lorelai are too alike because everyone views them as being polar opposites 🤣 I agree they are more alike than people think. I think their personalities just throw people off.

"We know they'll get together by the end of the season".....ha....ha....👀👀 Oh if you have watched Supernatural, you may not remember, I can't remember what season but there was an episode where they went to studio, I think it was the ep where they killed Paris Hilton 😂 anyway, they're on the tour golf cart and the guide says something like "now we're in the famous Stars Hollow set of Gilmore Girls, if we're lucky we may see one of the actors." Sam's face (Jared) is sooo funny in that scene. Anyways I love that you're watching GG, this is my all time favourite comfort show, along with Friends so to watch both with you is amazing! I usually watch GG every single Autumn without fail so I'll just watch it with you this year 😊

Really glad to hear Weenie is doing better. Just so you know, we all understand and want you to take care of yourself and your family when you need to. I would sacrifice a week’s worth of content to know that you took the time you needed to take care of things or to get yourself in a good mental headspace so that you don’t burn yourself out. Not much to say about the episode, loved it, love you and can’t wait for more! ❤️

The opening sequence where they are getting ready was actually added to the episode because the episode wasn't long enough so they added that in. I really like that they added that in too because shows their home life a little more. I really enjoyed this episode I forgot about a lot of things in this episode like the Luke and Lorelai moments. The whole Sam and Dean thing is funny too because I watched Gilmore Girls and my brother watched Supernatural so I always knew Jared Padelecki as Dean and my brother always knew him as Sam and Jensen Ackles as Dean and so we would always argue about that. He's Dean to me though and he will always be Dean to me.

It is wild to me that Keiko Agena (Lane Kim) is 27 years old in season one of this show. She deserves all the awards for passing as a teenager - not just looks but that energetic dreamer thing too! So many late-twenties / early-thirties actors are cast as teens now and it's... noticeable. XD I'm currently 27 (born in 1998) who gets mistaken for much younger most days, but I could never capture that energy that Keiko does.

I looked up the information about kitchen rolls and food. It's true that due to chemicals and recycling residues, kitchen rolls shouldn't be used for food, as they are specially designed for absorbing liquids. To be honest, I'm completely shocked by this, but at the same time I think to myself that there are no warning labels and 99% of people who have kitchen rolls also use them for food.

At the beginning of the episode, Lane and Rory listen to one of Claudine Longet's CDs. She was a French-American singer and Actress. Lorelai asked if she's "the chick who shot the skier" because in 1976, she did in fact shoot her boyfriend, Vladimir "Spider" Sabich, who was an American Olympic alpine skier. He died and she got 30 days in jail plus two years of propation. She was also married to Andy Williams for about 14 years. I believe Lorelai was born in 1968, so she would've been around 9 years old when that happened. I had to ask my mom about this reference, because I, too, didn't understand if for a while. My mom was 10 when it happened and remembers hearing about it on the news. I love Sookie in this episode!! "Please! I'll be your best friend!" Kills me every time I watch it. Also, I'm so glad your baby is doing better! We would totally understand if you every needed to take time off for her.

Yeah, I think they’re a really interesting complement to one another. They’re opposites in that Luke is introverted, isolated, pessimistic, and kind of grumpy, while Lorelai is extroverted, high-energy, charming, and the life of the party. She gets him to open up to the world and new experiences and makes his life brighter, and he balances her reckless, wild-child energy with his calm, steady presence. But as you mentioned, they do have ways in which they are also really alike. They’re both fiercely loyal, protective, stubborn, and independent. They’re both happy with their small-town life and share a strong distaste for the upper crust of society. Basically, they are different in personality and energy, but they ultimately share the same values and vision for their future.

I do agree I feel there needed to be more consequences on what Rory did, however I like that Lorelei spoke directly and explained everything, and spoke to Rory calmly and as a person. But as we know Lorelei went in the complete opposite of her parents.

I'm so sorry to hear about Weenie's bad week, it's so hard when there is something wrong with fur babies and they just don't understand what's happening. Thank you for watching GG. I think that Stars Hollow is Lorelai's family she always wanted. And I don't think she wants adventure because she doesn't want anything to change. Her commitment issues, making a public confession, is not something she can imagine herself doing. Being judged and open is just not what she can handle from her childhood trauma. She has been totally so focused on Rory for 16 years, she can't let it go or let anything compete with that.

I'm Gen X, and watched this as it aired every week. There's so many popular culture from back then and also lots of mentions of characters from books and movies. It's a great flashback for me, but it goes straight over younger people's head. Back then, it was such sharp writing, which it is still, but with outdated references.
