You have to watch up to season 4. I think like second to last episode of of season 4 is the pilot episode of the originals. And the originals you will love! You haven’t met those characters yet but you will and I look forward to hearing your opinion on those characters! But by far season 4 of TVD is my favorite and I believe it is the best season. Season 7 and 8 are a struggle to watch. All of The Originals is amazing. And then legacies is a bit of give and take. Definitely cringy, in my personal opinion the plot never made much sense and I think the only good season is season 4 which is the last season of that show.

Please keep watching and please do the Originals. I love TVD up until about season 6 and then to me I struggle. But the Originals has one of the best stories ever! Also yes to loving Caroline (her character is amazing). I like Elena and her actress (Nina Dobrev) is bloody AMAZING. The distinct difference beween Elena and Katherine is sooo good.

For me Damon is like Regina. You start out not liking them and pretty soon they are your favorite. I have been watching this since the 2nd season was airing on TV so I have a hard time remembering not liking Damon.

I haven’t seen it in years, and while I remember certain mayor storylines and twists, the details surrounding them are completely gone from memory . For instance, I know that some future characters will die (not saying who), yet I have no recollection of how or when it will happen. So everytime you have a ”WTF” moment, I’m having an ”AH YEAH” moment, hahaha! Take care!😋

*MORE BOOK SPOILERS!* * Katherine’s personality was very different in the books. She is often portrayed as naïve and innocent, immature despite her years and her experiences, with a selfish streak. She hated the rivalry between Stefan and Damen and wanted them to be the three of them to be “eternal companions”. She also drank animal blood like Stefan. Interestingly, Katherine and Elena’s personalities are almost entirely flipped. Katherine in the show is more like Elena in the novels and Elena in the show has more in common with Katherine in the novels. * The town people did not know about vampires. * The Vampire Diaries actually took place in a town called Fells Church. * They did change the names of some of the characters: * Bonnie Bennett was Bonnie McCullough * Matt Donovan was Matt Honeycutt * Vicky Donovan was Vicky Bennett (no relation to Matt) * Tyler Lockwood was Tyler Smallwood * Aunt Jenna was Aunt Judith * Katherine Pierce was Katherine von Swartzchild (originally from Germany) * Vicky wasn’t turned into a vampire. She was however, mentally tortured and manipulated by various vampires throughout the first 4 books. * Elena does get very suspicious of Stefan but she finds out he is a vampire in a very different way. In the books, she catches him feeding on a rabbit he caught. However, she didn’t end it with him after finding out in the books like she does in the show.

I am one of those who loves through Season 7 (the characters, the story doesn't hold together as well in all 7 seasons). I would love to try the journaling, and thought it would be fun if some of us journaled from different character perspectives, but I found it hard to do without including parts of the character's current POV that we shouldn't know yet because the flashbacks haven't been shown to us yet.

The character development gets so much better over time. I love Caroline and Bonnie. I love their character developments over time. This is just the start of Katherine. I'd recommend watching TVD until the end but you could start The Originals starting season 3 of TVD and then watch both at the same time. I personally like the Originals the most out of the 3 series (TVD - - > The Originals - - > Legacies). Becoming a vampire requires the person having vampire blood in their system, they need to die, and then they have about a 24 hour window of time they either need to feed on human blood to complete the transition and be a vampire or not and die permanently. So much more to come! Excited to keep watching this with you and everyone else!

Elena, the one who reminded me what it is to be alive doesn't want anything to do with me and I can't even cope with that right now because Damon has committed another atrocity and someone in town knew enough about the secret to know exactly how to hurt me.

Please keep watching this show! You will want to watch past season 3. Especially season 4. I believe this show was so good through the end of season 6. The story could’ve been completed by then though 7 & 8 grew on me in more recent rewatches. Please keep watching past season 3!

Also, I’m sure the tears from overwhelm due to a person she knows who is mow a vampire, her boyfriend is a vampire, she just broke up with him, his brother is killing people, plus being the one to turn her brother’s friend & she now needs to protect herself, her brother & her friends. That is insane amount of feelings to process. Tears, I feel, would be inevitable. Especially at that age. On top the grief of losing her parents & her brother’s rebelliousness & having to help her Aunt Jenna to parent. That’s a lot.

I'm closer to Chico but have family in elk grove. And you are talking about Lafayette aka lala from true blood. He was my absolute favorite character from that show so when the show deviated from the books and kept him i was soooooo happy. RIP to Nelsan Ellis who played him. Also Ian (who plays Damon) married Nikki Reed who played rose on twilight. Also even though Nina (Elena) and Paul (Stefan) didn't get along the first few years they are now really good friends. Also Paul and Ian have a whisky company together. I think Nina does a really great job acting as different characters on show. P.s. your facial expressions and reactions are the greatest

A brief history lesson: no woman ever fainted because of a corset. That is pure Hollywood fan fiction about this item of clothing. A real corset at that time was neither worn on bare skin nor was it so tight that the woman could not move, let alone breathe. The corsets of that time were also not like the one in the show. The stays were made of whale bones, but the name is misleading because they were not actually bones, but the strong yet flexible hair from the mouths of blue whales. In fact, there was always at least two fingers' width of space after it was laced up. The so-called "wasp waist" was largely an optical illusion. "Cushions" were also used to make the hips appear wider and the waist appear narrower, as were coloured ribbons to distract the eye. The corset also served to counterbalance the weight of the skirts so that the weight did not really rest on the woman's body. If you want to learn more about this, there are some good YouTube channels that deal with this topic and also show how clothing was worn back then in order to dispel the myths that Hollywood has put into people's heads.

At this point the Big reveal and everything is the vampire stuff. Important because the realization of looking alike is a pretty important scene/story point.

Oooh Stefan's diary would totally say something about failing to help Vicky and that bringing back memories of when he was going through the same thing himself. Also something about how he thought his brother hated him but he saved his life so maybe there's still some humanity in him left. And ofcourse something about breaking up with Elena and not wanting to lose her like he lost Katherine and just wanting to protect her! Such a good episode! 😄

I’m not sure if someone mentioned this or not, but Candice King (Caroline) was in the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus concert movie, not the actual movie that you reacted to. When I first heard that in the beginning of the video, I was like “what! I don’t remember seeing her!” so I googled it and got the answer.

when you start the originals it is best to do alernatingly because od crossovers untilbefore the last season of them then you should watch the whole final season of tvd first and then the final season of the originals and then all 4 seasons of legacies

honestly s7 and 8 are boring but they’re worth the watch just cuz of the whole show and then the originals. there’s a few good sad episodes between s7 and the finale.
