I love this episode. I think it was kind of fun seeing another example of Lorelai, taking on the more grown-up parental role rather than just like the cool older sister vibe/ best friend that we were always seeing. Not that I don’t enjoy seeing that side of her, but it’s nice being able to see the parents side since so far, we really haven’t seen a ton of it.

Love this ep. And slight spoiler for FRIENDS, but if you don't know who Elle MacPherson is, she will be a guest star on Season 6

Elle MacPherson is a model and on friends at some point. She is a serious kind of pretty lol I agree giving away the tickets was a bad idea but I love getting more time with the chilton kids. I feel like getting more into that world kind of acts like a window into what Lorelai’s childhood might have looked like. It allows you to understand Lorelai more and gives you things to consider about the family dynamics even when Richard and Emily aren’t in an episode. I think Emily would’ve been like Lorelai in this episode though, going door to door looking for Lorelai.

At primary school, we were naturally addressed by our first names and with 'you'. From the age of 16 onwards in secondary school, we were able to choose how we wanted to be addressed. During our training, it was customary to use surnames and the formal 'you' form of address. However, we collectively agreed to use first names and the formal 'you'. That's why I don't find it strange at all when teachers address them by their surnames at school. It's difficult to explain in English when both are simply 'you', but in German there is a clear difference. you = du the formal you = Sie I really hope it makes any sense for you 😅

I love this episode! Seeing Lorelei go full on mamma bear and rightly so, learning about Luke's past girlfriend, and seeing Paris warm more to Rory and having a lovely night. I do agree that giving the tickets away was probably not the best idea, but I can see it from Lorelei's side though, as Rory is not a social butterfly really, and thought this might help create a few friends at the school. Of course she did not realise that Madeleine and Louise were not the best influence for Rory - although Rory stood her ground very well not giving in to peer pressure - well done Rory!! 💪🏼xx

Elle McPherson - yes, a model, but also a popular Sports Illustrated cover model type.
