Elena had taken her necklace off at the end of episode 10 and left it on top of Katherines picture before she left. Stefan found the necklace when he came back to the room and realised Elena was gone and that she now knew about Katherine.

You seem to be getting a little mixed up with VD and TB. True Blood makes a big deal of if a vamp bites someone they can feel when that person is in trouble, but VD doesn't really ever say that (I don't think, it has been a while since I watched VD and I may have missed it.) This episode shows you that the history teacher Alaric is Not a vampire, but that his wife was killed by Damon setting up a whole new complicated and yet fun dynamic

First time watching TVPD, I never knew Gina Torres was in it (for one episode but it still counts). Gina Torres was the witch that owned the bar that Damon killed, she's been in a lot of stuff : Firefly, Serenity, Angel, Suits, Memory of a Killer, and 911: Lonestar, to name a few. Sad they killed her off so soon, love the actress. I almost forgot to mention, you remembered who Lexi was faster than me (I was sitting over here thinking who's Lexi). I also sit while watching this (would love to walk), I'm at work usually when I watch.

The difference with Caroline and Damon was that Damon used his connection with her to draw her to him, using a form of compulsion & dream manipulation. As a note: this is due to the additional powers Damon had in the book, they distance themselves from those additional powers in later seasons and solidify the vampire lore a bit more.

It’s funny when he says that they went to Georgia, right outside of Atlanta, cause the show was filmed outside of Atlanta in Covington, Georgia. Which I live two hours away from and have gone to a couple conventions for the series and volunteered with a couple of the companies

It's kinda cool that the comments you were reading at the beginning of this episode included the comment where I said that I couldn't wait for you to get to this episode, funny how that worked out. But yes, other people mentioned it already i believe but in VD there isn't a connection between a vampire and those they drink from. Great episode (this was the one after Elena found out about Katherine and then went to Georgia with Damon to the bar owned by the witch), I know that you didn't really think that anything all that interesting happened but it's setting up for future episodes. Anyways, can't wait for next week, love your reactions!

Yes MRI - I agree so scary I've had that not that long ago too and thought they left me, and that clonking noise really made me so nervous, and they were like 'you need to lay still and not breathe too hard', I'm like 'I'll do my best but I'm nervous and I need to deep breathe'. Grrr! 3. OMFG when you said 'sex and little nibble nibble' hehe OMFG I was laughing so so much at that Audrey, amazing just amazing!! 4. As much as I love Damon, he 100% deserved that beating up in this episode- Lexi was awesome and he immensely fucked up there! 5. You kinda need to get used to semi cool characters turning up...then dying I'm afraid! Not all the time, but mostly! 😔 it's the nature of the show! Xx

I get lots of MRIs due to various health issues. I usually take Valium prior to, Benadryl helps too! My second one, I had a major panic attack and sobbed for an hour straight. Now, taking the Valium an hour beforehand really helps me.

ELena's life didn't have vampires in it before Stefan showed up in her life, but she did have that darkness around her, having both her parents died in such a tragic way with her in the car gives her grounds to say what she is saying. And thinking of vampirism as a metaphor for drug addiction and substance abuse it does make sense that she would try and rationalize this new world where she has to battle demons and the struggle to resist it. I hope this makes sense, that's my take on it.

And yes, Damon was betrayed by Gina’s character, Damon is a lover boy at heart. He will reliably spin out if someone he loves betrays him, he has serious attachment issues lol. Because he is a vampire, that part of him is amplified and for someone so emotional, it’s easier to shut down inside instead. That’s why it seems like he doesn’t care when he kills.

I was scared.' then him being seen in the sun looking for his ring and the reveal that Damon killed his wife, spinning the beginning of his story but with clear implications that he his not a vampire

My mom was a big Y&R fan and during summer vacation and other breaks from school, I would watch it with her every day at 12:30pm. Then B&B came on right after, and I always hated that it was only a 30 minute show because I like it better than Y&R. As The World Turns followed right after and it instantly became my favorite because, if I’m not mistaken, it was one of the first soap operas to have a LGBTQ+ couple (Luke & Noah) kiss on-screen. I was so mad when they cancelled it because Luke & Noah were my favorite and they made me so happy! It was around that time that I started realizing I’m bisexual. Of course, I couldn’t tell my parents at the time because it was very confusing at first. So I just live vicariously through “Nuke”.

The first time I ever had an MRI was when I had COVID. I was basically unresponsive so I don’t really remember much. I do remember waking up a couple of times and freaking out because I didn’t know where I was so they had to restart. The one MRI I actually do remember was fucking terrifying. I had a problem with my kidneys and my potassium levels. I don’t remember much from the first couple of days, I only know what my husband told me. But basically I went to use the bathroom and my husband heard a loud bang. When he came to check on me, I was lying in between the toilet and the bathtub, completely out. He said I wasn’t breathing so he started CPR but it wasn’t working so he called the paramedics. But I ended up waking up right before they arrived and this part I do remember. I remember opening my eyes and my husband, Jon, was in my face and he was crying and yelling but I couldn’t hear him. My hearing was completely gone, so I started freaking out and Jon was shaking me a little trying to talk to me but I wouldn’t answer him. I finally figured out how to talk and I told him I couldn’t hear. He ended up writing down what was going on and it just made me freak out more. I remember standing up and shaking my head because I didn’t want to go to the hospital. I tried walking back to the bedroom so I could go lay down, but my knees gave out and I ended up passing out in the doorway. Next thing I remember is the hospital and I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many doctors in my life. I still couldn’t hear so I have no idea what they were doing. I don’t even remember them putting the IV in or the catheter in. Next time I woke up, I was back in the that damn machine and the sound that Audrey described was absolutely terrifying. I couldn’t actually hear it but I could feel it and I felt like my heart was gonna explode. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hospital and I pray on everything I love that I never have to go through it again.

I don’t think Damon felt that Elena was in trouble. I think he just happened to be at the right place at the right time. Ooh, but their chemistry is fucking fire!!! When I first started the series, I was hell bent on being a Stelena (Stefan/Elena) fan and thinking that Damon was just a sexy fucking asshole. But Damon just has that way of getting under your skin and by the time you realize it, he’s already got his hooks (or should I say fangs?) in you so you’re just like “fuck it”. 🤣🤣 You gotta admit though… Ian “Smolder”halder is so fucking sexy and whenever I rewatch it, I get chills everywhere when he gives that little smirk and is all “Hello, brother” in that sexy fucking voice of his.

It was just kind of an unspoken thing between us. I mean, my mom had really good intuition when it came to me. I remember when I lost my v-card. I didn’t tell anyone about it. I didn’t even plan for it to happen when it did. But, I’m not even kidding, as soon as I walked in the house, my mom took one look at me and just said “you had sex”. I was 17 and really shy so I was kinda like “what are you talking about? No I didn’t.” And she said that I had a certain look. 😂😂

I never managed to finish the series because of the direction the plot was taking (I didn’t get past season 4). So I’m glad to be getting back into it with your reactions. And don’t worry, I hate Damon too. That kind of wicked, humorous anti-hero act has never really worked for me. 😅
