Thank you! 😂 Haha I laughed out loud at your ”one-second-too-slow” realization when we saw that Anna was the same girl from 1864 (or whatever year it is). Ian Somerhalder (Damon) and Nina Dobrev (Elena/Katherine) dated in real life for a couple of years during the filming of this show, thats why they have insane chemistry. I don't know if this is a spoiler or not but No, Alaric is not a vampire. His identity will be explained in the next couple of episodes, previously he held Vervaine (SP? vervaine burns a vampire when it touches their skin) when Damon tried to compel him. Alaric was also looking for his ring in the daylight after the gym a couple of episodes ago.

Oh Audrey I loved your predictions and recaps and the 'woo woo' for the compelling - I feel we all need to say 'woo woo' now 🤣🤣🤣 Soooo there are gonna be lots of times I feel you are gonna say 'remember when...' with these characters as none make particularly good choices in my opinion, it's all shades of grey. It's basically who you like as a character with all thier good/bad choices they make, and that can change over the course of the show. I love Damon's character for all he is, the good/ sweet choices he makes, and even the bad and the very ugly.... and... even when he fucks up! And yes he fucks up alot! There is one character that i personally don't love as much as others do in the fandom later on in the show, (if you know you know) who, in my opinion is waaaaaaay worse than Damon! (again they have thier reasons too) but that's another discussion for when/ if we get there...hint hint.... Please keep watching this show Audrey 🤣🤣😏😏

One of the best thing about this show is that they don’t stretch storyline. They go trough so much stuff in a season where other shows tend to stretch their mystery so long you don’t care anymore. One of Damon best qualities is his devotion to the people he love. And vampire emotions are magnified so this is why he was still looking for Katherine after so long. A lot of Damon and Stefan behaviour can be explained by how they were raised by their father, one of the scene in this episode with the 3 of them is very telling. Stefan wanted to be seen as the good son and hide his flaws to maintain his good image. Damon see himself as the black sheep and hide his qualities, it kind of becomes a self fulfilling prophecy where other people only see his flaws and reinforce this mindset. This is why he was hurt by Elena betrayal, he taught she was one of the first people to see past his defence mechanism.

Absolutely love your reactions and I will admit I've been screaming at the screen for however many episodes "Alaric is not a vampire!!!" 😂🙈 glad you have finally sorta figured it out. The show just gets better and a lot more characters introduced, you may need to get a notebook and write down names, what they are etc and if they die cross them out to keep track 😂 Also not so much shows lore but actor, the actress who plays Caroline (Candice Accola King) is an amazing singer, I had her EP way back in the day and cannot for the life of me find it anywhere. The actress who plays Bonnie also had one but I preferred Candice's as it was a bit more rocky. Ian Somerholder and Nina Dobrev (Damon and Elena) did date early on for a few years which I did mention before but Ian ended up marrying another vampire, Nikki Reed (Rosalie from Twilight). Also, not really a spoiler but look out for her, the actress who played Lexi (Arielle Kebbel) who was the blonde vampire and Stefan's best friend that Damon killed will be in Gilmore Girls, she was a lot younger in GG so it may take you a minute but you will definitely recognise her when you eventually get there. Love that you have green lit season 2, it just gets better i promise!

I thought the intro to this episode was really cute. It’s only Season 1, Episode 13, and you’re already completely blown away. No spoilers, of course, but I can tell you it doesn’t let off the gas, quite the opposite, in fact, and a lot of it isn’t as predictable as in some other series. But if you’re already having a ‘WTF’ moment every time, then buckle up for the upcoming seasons.

If you already find Stefan more attractive/better character generally you are going to be a Stefan girly. Even though Damon is the "big bad" for alot of this season, all his reactions are done out of hurt/betrayal. He truly believes he loves Katherine more than anything. To answer your question regarding the books, yes the books are VASTLY different to the show. The show is a very loose portrayal of the books. I'm a book girly with every show except for this one. I found the books to be very boring and the writing style IMO (don't hate me) was childish and sloppy. I'm also super glad you are already planning on Season 2. I really hope you go at least up to season 5-6. (Will understand if you don't watch the last two) However PRAYING for The Originals. To this day that show is my comfort show. Loving your reactions Audrey! Can't wait for the next!

I love how this show actually gives almost every important character a backstory. It makes you understand why they are the way they are. Like Damon is such a villain in season 1, but as you learn more about him you kinda start sympathizing with him without even realizing it 😭 And Katherine… she really shaped SO much of what happened. Her backstory just adds so much depth to everything

It took me to season 6 to really love Damon, he really got the short end of the stick, poor guy. I now understand why he is the way he is. He's unapologetically him, no if ands or buts about it. He became my favorite comfort character and he will always hold a special place in my heart. Bonnie is still my first favorite character that I related to.
