I had to laugh so much at the reaction and how happy it made you. Not gonna lie, when I watched that scene with Matt and Caroline in the car back then, it was sweet and romantic and all that. But nowadays, I have to say it leaves a really bitter flavour in my mouth and reminds me of my Ex who also liked to gaslight me and make me feel bad because I’d caught him lying.

I love your reaction to Matt and Caroline! Matt is classic “Nice Guy” here. On surface, all nice and cute and reasonable. But when you look deeper you see the manipulation and gaslighting. Even the “it’s my fault because I said I’d always have feelings for Elena” part is manipulation designed to make her feel guilty because he “told” her and so she doesn’t have the “right” to feel jealous over his blatant puppy eyes at Elena all night.

To answer your question about being invited in- you have to own to house legally and then any living relative of yours can invite vampires in. It doesn’t matter if they physically live there or not

I think Matt meant the whole "in this car" speech was more about if he could have had anyone with him in that moment, making that memory, it would be Caroline. It kind of reminds me of Troy and Gabriella in High School Musical 2 when they're in the pool after work, and Troy tells Gabriella that right there in that moment with her, it was finally starting to feel like summer.

Also, I joined your Patreon for this series and binged the whole thing. 1x16 is the first episode that I’m watching as it’s uploaded so Hiiii, I’m so happy to watch your journey on this show. I do love Damon and I did from the beginning (maybe a little problematic, sue me. I was a teenager lol) but Stefan is and always has been so exhausting to me. Love him, but ugh😭 too high and mighty… I CAN’T WAIT for your reactions as the seasons progress.

I believe they do since legally they would have a right to the home with a lease signed. It’s all about the home or building being privately owned, buildings like the school and the grill they frequent are owned by the town therefore vampires don’t have to be invited in since it is open to everyone. I’m not sure if Stefan and Damon’s uncle Zack owned their house but it would make sense as to why those vampires could get in uninvited now that he is dead and they don’t have any other human relatives.
