Fun fact : the woman who tells Joey to pick up the bag of dog food is actually Billie Eilish's mother.

it’s so insane to me how healthcare has not changed in the us since you were in your 20s, i’m 22 & haven’t had heath insurance since 2024 because “i make too much money” yet am barely making ends meet & am stressed all the time over money. i truly don’t know what i would do if something really bad happened & needed to go to the hospital. if i think about it too much i’ll cry.

it's always crazy hearing stories of medical costs and insurance as someone from a place with (almost) free healthcare. I had a health crisis earlier this year and 3 trips to the ER, all with imaging, meds and two overnight admissions, and then eventually (planned) surgery cost around $40 dollars for the pain meds after surgery.

The US healthcare system is so fucked up and distressing I can’t, there are no words. And holy shit Audrey 2L is WILD! I am so sorry and glad you here cause damn. Little info dump for those who might not know: Adults can typically feel the urge to pee with 30mL (like one cup) in their bladder and max capacity is usually around 500mL. But, I’m ready for the Rachel/Ross mess. Give it to me! Grateful to be here as always ☺️

Going blonde to blend in grey is a great idea! I started going grey at 17. I'm 42 now and almost completely grey now but ppl often ask if it's a dye job but it's totally natural. Grey is cool lol. Embrace it girl!

do you think you will watch How I met Your Mother in the future? I think you might really love it. Where can I vote? xx

I am indeed loving your blonde hair Audrey 😍 I feel very fortunate to not live in the US as I'd be dead. I have had so many operations ect over my life time so far and I dread to think what it would have cost 😞 yes England is shit in a lot of ways and it's kinda falling apart, but I am for one very very thankful for the NHS. I love Rachel's reaction to the realisation of her being married to Ross still too, really really good.

Australia. Don't get me wrong, some things can cost in the medical system like dr/specialist appointments and public waitlists can be long. But emergency things like what you described and joey's hernia would most likely be treated for free (including hospital stays and surgery if absolutely needed), except any prescriptions that need to be filled afterwards. Note: this is just my experience and I'm not an expert in how our system works, and luckily I haven't had to use it much.

I just looked to see if the next epsiode is the one I think it is, and it is! probably the only part of this ross/rachel storyline I like

Keran Holland

I think Pheobe's actress starting wearing a wig in season 6. If you Iook close enough, it's noticable in a few episodes, but I believe she had a bob in real life. Also, I love your Friends reactions and I Loved your starkid reactions:)

I’m so happy you are feeling better! It’s always crazy to me how expensive medical heathcare is in the US. Where I’m from it is more or less free (part of our taxes) which is how it should be, in my opinion. Getting medical care shouldn’t be a luxury, it’s a human right. This is one of the reasons why me and my fiancé moved back to Sweden (after spending almost 3 years in the US). We wanted to start a family soon, but I wasn’t too excited to be pregnant there due to how expensive it is.. and let’s not get started on parental rights😅

Turnip Crazy

This show always has great reveal reactions. Rachel's realization that she's still married to Ross is priceless.

I live in Denmark, and I love our healthcare systems, we pay extra in taxes, so we can go to the doctor/hospital and actually get the care we need without thinking about what it costs. ❤️ I can’t even imagine living in the US and having to think about this stuff, it’s so crazy that it isn’t just free(or paid in taxes) everywhere in the world😳🫣 But anyway because of our healthcare systems here, we have a special id card, we can take with us if we leave the country and stay in Europe. So in all of Europe I/and the rest of Danes(probably all Europe, but I’m not sure) can go to the doctor free if something happens to you(as long as you’re in an European country) Don’t know if the last part makes any sense but yeah🤦🏼‍♀️🤣🤣

Hanna may Williams

i am incredable luck as i live in London Englad so we have free healthcare (should be free for every peorsn in every part of the world

Ronja

I was in the hospital for two or three days last year and all I had to pay was about 18$, I’m from Sweden and we have a pretty good health care system compared to a lot of other countries. I was in total shock and kind of hysterical because of the reason I was there. But not once did I think of the cost of the stay or the cost of if they had to give me emergency medical care. That is just an insane thing to have to care about in those situations. On to the episode, if I was Rachel this would be a friendship dealbreaker. Ross is the worst as usual. If I was Rachel I would be so hurt and feel betrayed. She trusted him to take care of the divorce and he lied and manipulated it so she would move in with him. Rachel might not be my absolute favorite character but everybody deserves better than Ross!! Both as a friend and as a Romantic partner!!!!!!

Poor Phoebe and her psychic reading. 😭✨ that’s a reason I’ve never gone to a psychic and don’t really care to. What do you do if you get news like that or someone gets in your head?! You also have to worry about scammers and people who’ll say anything. Reminds me of ChatGPT having full conversations with people that's essentially unsolicited medical advice, especially on mental health struggles and then having it go horribly wrong. It just feels very out of your control and mind-manipulative. That said, I do find psychics really fascinating, especially ones that connect with loved ones. there’s very much an intrigue and fascination with that. I would be willing to do that, but when it comes to people literally telling you irreversible life altering things and you don’t know if they’re actually telling you the truth is a little bit creepy and unnerving to me. But then again, it’s Phoebe, and she somehow finds the comedy in all of it. Only she could get news like that and make it seem so casual. 😅 Chandler: “Make sure you look both ways before you cross the street…” And then Joey smacks his face right into the door on his way out. 😂💀 That’s quintessential Joey and Chandler right there. It’s one of my favorite GIFs to use whenever I feel like my brain is absolutely fried and I’m making fun of myself. 🤣 Ross’s situation is actually pretty funny to me because if you have any kind of social anxiety or an impulsive side, this would probably be you. I know this has been me many times, where you make a decision, say something, and suddenly feel like you have to commit to it until you figure out how to fix it. 😂 Ross trying to keep up the fake English accent after everyone noticed it reminds me of those moments where you realize you’ve dug yourself into a hole, but now you’re too embarrassed to admit it. Even taking the wrong turn while driving is a perfect example. Sometimes you refuse to turn around in the middle of traffic, so instead you keep going out of your way until you find an exit and circle back around. It’s that same feeling of, “Well, I’ve already committed to this, so I guess I’m doing this now.” I feel like everyone makes that kind of decision at some point in their life, even if most of us aren’t accidentally faking an accent in front of our friends. 🤣🤣 Poor Joey and his insurance. 😩 It’s so freaking expensive, and it basically feels like if you want the right to live, you have to have a ton of money in case something goes wrong. 😭 The medical industry is such a damn mess, and it always feels so secretive about what you’re actually paying for. At the same time, I know healthcare can’t just magically be free because someone has to pay for it somewhere. Nothing is free and the money comes from your pocket in regardless. It’s just a mess altogether. That said, Joey’s situation is very real, and it really shows the life of a struggling actor. He reminds me a lot of Rachel in the earlier seasons when she worked at the coffeehouse and had to decide whether chasing fashion was worth the struggle. I think Joey is facing something similar. Acting is one of those careers where you eventually have to ask yourself how long you can keep chasing the dream while still paying your bills and taking care of yourself. It feels like a nice parallel to Rachel’s earlier story and figuring out what you need to do to survive, especially in New York City, while also deciding how much your passion means to you. 🤍
