Yes 100% agree! Joey you be you huni 🥰 This is one of my least favourite episodes ever of friends as Ross definitely could have cancelled or rearranged or ...just told her and had a giggle about it, but no ....we need the drama but this was meh drama in my opinion. And i know it was the 90s but FFS let Joey like what he fucking wants to - he is not hurting anyone..yes bring back the man purse he looked great in that and he loved it! Grrrr!

I love Rachel’s storyline at work because I think it’s incredibly relatable. So many of us have had moments where we’ve exaggerated something or tried to seem more important just to fit in or impress the people around us. Rachel goes through ALL the stress of finding out this gossip, and then covering up this lie, only to discover that her fellow employee did exactly what Phoebe did and Ralph Lauren wasn’t involved at all. It’s a funny reminder that we don’t have to make ourselves into something we’re not in order to earn respect or fit in. That leads perfectly into Joey’s storyline with his new roommate. It still surprises me just how progressive Friends could be, especially for a sitcom that aired from the mid-‘90s into the early 2000s. I love the way the episode moves Joey from his masculine life with Chandler to the possibility of living with Janine, bringing more traditionally feminine things into his apartment, and then having him genuinely enjoy some of them. 💐 At the same time, Chandler’s comments about every apartment he visits suddenly having his guy friends doing “girly” things is one of my favorite jokes in this episode. All he wants is to escape the things Monica has him doing at home, only to find the same thing happening everywhere else. I’ve never really overthought that joke or over analyzed it. It’s just a funny, relatable moment that a lot of people can appreciate. (this calls for the Chandler emoji 😆) As for Ross’s storyline, I love that instead of simply rescheduling his date like most people would after a disastrous spray tan, bad haircut, or getting sick, Ross stubbornly decides to push through no matter how ridiculous he looks. Of course, because he’s Ross, every attempt to fix the problem only makes things worse. That’s one of my favorite parts of his character. David Schwimmer’s physical comedy is phenomenal, and his willingness to fully commit to every awkward situation is what makes Ross so endlessly entertaining. 🤣👏👏 Friends has always been a happy place for me. I love when people can just relax, enjoy the characters, and laugh without feeling like EVERY joke or storyline has to be picked apart. Life gives us enough to analyze already. Sometimes it’s nice to simply enjoy the relationships, the ridiculous situations, and the brilliant comedy that makes this show so timeless, whether little things have changed or not. This show would NEVER remain the success it has and one of the top 3 sitcoms of all time if every little thing was picked apart to the point where it could longer be relatable. It still is and always will be. 🥹🫶👏 ❤️💛💙

I loved your spot on predictions Audrey! Chandler was being a little wimpy whiner, in my opinion. Monica’s activities didn’t even strike me as girly just boring as fuck haha. I didn’t get that being “feminine” was the issue until Monica said it. I know it’s a show, and maybe it was progressive for its time, but it truly annoys me. I can’t not notice it. I could go off about gender norms, maybe a little bit of a touchy subject for me, some deep rooted trauma there lol. I also never asked someone I made out with if they were married. It was the vibe, hitting on them (or them on me), or simply “I’m horny, you wanna?” “I wanna!” Hahaha but in my opinion, if you’re in a monogamous relationship, you shouldn’t be in a position allowing yourself to make out with someone else. And it’s not the other person’s fault or their responsibility to be like wait, pause, are you in a relationship? I feel like society uses that frame of mind to slut shame and I’m not here for that. I know it’s a comedy show, and I do find much of it fucking hilarious, but also the media we consume does impact us. I think it’s okay to acknowledge that. And I’m not trying ruin it or say people shouldn’t watch or enjoy Friends. I’m here enjoying it 💛

I love me the occasional silver fox but this episode is also the first time I found out that apparently Ralph Lauren is considered hot (?)
