I’m considering making the gleeful weekend twice a month but making the videos longer like a double feature. I’ve been getting comments that my plugs feel overwhelming since there is less video to play between. However I need to plug because I fully took out the intro and outro and moved it to the middle.

I’m thinking with a longer video it would have TWO songs and be around 15minutes long.

What do my GLEEKS think?

I think it would be a great idea to do a double feature like that!

Great idea!

Great idea! Perhaps, also consider doing the full studio versions of the glee performances. Almost all of them have YouTube videos that have been edited to align with the much longer versions of the song; that way you get to review more of the song and lengthen your videos. For example the the full version of “shake it out” is amazing. https://youtu.be/Z-0mRd8yImE

With 700 songs Glee has, you could do up to 13 songs a week for a full year.

Ok I think I need to start telling you guys what songs I want to do and then YOU find me the best recording to use.

That would be good (although I don’t mind them now they are) and I think it would be nice to have a bit of commentary after the song finishes, like your opinion on the song overall, as sometimes it feels like it ends a bit abruptly. If you’re taking more suggestions, I’d love to see you do more Kurt songs (total Kurt fangirl over here!), my favourites from him are As If We Never Said Goodbye, Bring Him Home (duet with Rachel), For Good and Being Alive 😊

I would love an double feature but personally I was never bothered by the plugs with just one.

My wife and I just discovered the Glee ones, so we watched a whole slew of them in a row last night. The plugs were very definitely overwhelming when you’re watching them back-to-back. Having a longer song-to-ad ratio spins like a great idea. :)

Oh, I get it. :) I was a marketer for 20 years. Though the 87% doesn’t necessarily mean people are watching your videos for the first time. I’m not a YouTube person. I only go on for specific purposes. I don’t subscribe to anything because I just search for what I want each time. I do have people who interest me, but I just search and visit when I’m in the mood. I’ve been watching your videos for a month or so without subscribing. :)

Audrey I am game to watch hours long videos for you, so a double feature for these Glee songs just sounds like a great idea - most of Glee's songs are only 3-5 minutes long so the ad-to-content ratio will feel more evenly split

I wouldn't mind hearing more about your thoughts on the song/performance after it is over. The video tends to end when the song does and that's a bit jarring. Like when I go to a musical with a friend half of the fun is talking about it afterward. That would add some length to your videos and not make it seem so "advertisey."
