So…. Remember how I said I was concerned with a Mimosas & Musicals watch party because people get offended online if I don’t take their musical seriously?

YEP. Exactly that has happened with Rent.

Interesting thing is you, my patrons, thought it was funny and even encouraged me to enjoy myself and do more of them. Which truly I had a great time watching it and not being so “professional” the whole time but just enjoying watching a musical with a friend.

However the rating for the Rent Watch Party started to damage my channel and the comments were going south very fast :(

I’ll be keeping the watch party available HERE but it will no longer be available on YT.

…now I’m concerned with continuing my Mimosas & Musicals series.

There will always be haters one way or the other so you do what is best for you and your channel. Either way I'm not going anywhere

Alex GutCor2301

I have an idea!! You do the Mimosas & Musicals a Patreon Exclusive, and that's it, we do love saw you enjoy the moment and having fun 😉💙

KJ Dogmom

My experience with seeing comments on YouTube (other channels. Especially glee) is that it's almost like Twitter trolls. Yes talking you can miss important things sometimes not all ways. You and Haley made me personally laugh. Especially with Maureen's protest. Yes maybe you missed why they were mooing, but civilized people can be nice and helpful, as they were on here. Don't worry about those YouTube trolls. Keep on doing what you love, because we love what you do as well. 😉🥰

Is it here?? I was waiting for the Patreon version because I’m lazy but I don’t see it 😩 also eff those guys, people don’t know how to let others just enjoy things.

Jennifer Adame

It’s a shame people were being so harsh on you about Rent. I thought it seemed like you were having a great time. If you want to make it a Patreon exclusive but are worried about revenue, you could make it accessible to those on a higher tier list (for a time) before releasing at the lower tier I suppose. I’d pay extra to have a good time with you drinking and laughing with Movies

Veronica_R_T

I understand your frustration, but on social media it doesn't matter what you do or say, there will always be people who don't like it or who will judge it and you. You can't keep changing your content to make everyone happy because you will end up not being able to post anything at all. If you enjoy what you're doing, keep doing it. People will gravitate to your joy and that will far outweigh the negative.

Dylan Rahn

I seriously love your vibe and energy! It’s sad that people have to be so rude

Capri Zonica

This generation is beyond annoying, ugh. Everything is offensive to them and don't know the meaning of rethoric questions. Anyways, I'm not a fan of musicals but I have a dark sense of humor I'd thought of watching some.

Leilani Huntsman

Folks act like you can’t rewatch these things later😭😭a first reaction is supposed to fun. I bet if you paused the video everytime you wanted to talk, those same people would get mad that the video was too long🙄people are too damn serious these days smhh never satisfied. I love your personality and energy in your videos !!👏🏽🖤

Olivia Stratton

People take Rent way too seriously. I honestly enjoy Rent, but it's kind of a mess. The stage version is more self-aware than the movie at least. Also, no one watching something for the first time is going to catch everything that long-time fans notice. It's not a big deal. Besides, it creates an opportunity for engagement where fans can answer questions and point out things the reactor missed. (Hopefully less rudely.)

greenlifechild

I like Rent. Even the movie. Of course the Movie was my first exposure to the musical. You missed some things while watching because you were laughing and having fun with your friend. It was still a fun experience to watch you and Hailey watch Rent. Keep having fun and ignore the haters as much as you can :)

Chelsea Doyle

Okay so two things, 1. don't always listen to the comments. Some people are grumpy just to be grumpy. If they don't like how you're reacting to something, they can choose not to watch. 2. As a Renthead myself, I can tell you with absolute certainty that the fandom is INTENSE and very, very impatient with new viewers. They're known for being rabid and freaking out at people who don't treat it with gospel, or don't give it the treatment they think it deserves. I've seen tons of reactors get the same kind of responses over this same musical. You've basically stumbled into a well-known musical melting pot of very passionate feelings and honestly, it could have been much worse. So just know ... this is not only you. You could have done everything perfect except for ONE thing or ONE opinion and it would've led to a meltdown. I love Rent and I've been in the fandom for a long time. You've been clear that you're reacting out of fun and that if you want to do more in-depth reviews you do song by song rather than a fun watch party with your friend/patreon. So basically. You're doing great. <3

Amanda Logsdon

As long as you had fun so will i, musicals are supposed to be enjoyed.

Kenyatta (KD) Smith

This is why I hate people. I'm sorry the YT people are trying to put you in a box. There are literally channels out there whose main purpose is to trash movies or shows. But you can't just have a fun night with a friend and watch a movie with your viewers? Smh. Maybe the Mimosas and Musicals series can just be for Patreon only.

beth

damn! I'm glad you created a Patreon. You don't have to worry about ratings here. <3

Amber Harrison

Mimosa and Musicals is an amazing idea I hope you decide to still make those happen. The very idea promotes fun, and being laid back. It’s drinking and vibing with a friend for fux sake! Silence those haters, this is all your creation and we are fortunate that you to want to share your time and energy. Slay them demons, and keep it moving.

Romy

That’s a shame, but seeing how many more people you reach on YouTube I’m not surprised because there are always people who won’t like something. I’ve heard too from other channels that posting really long videos like this can harm your channel because a relatively small number watch them compared with the short reaction videos so YT won’t promote them. Maybe just post these on your patreon and put an explanation at the beginning that it’s for fun. I don’t mind that your reactions are chatty even if you do miss parts because the point is that I feel like I’m hanging out with you, but some people probably expect them to be more similar to your in depth reaction videos.

Kasey ALbert

People need to seriously get on with themselves. If you can't hang out and enjoy a musical and a friend then they've got bigger issues. But love the idea of keeping this as a patreon exclusive.

Carly Mahr

Honestly, I have not watched your reaction to Rent yet. I have not seen Rent and I like to watch the movie or musical first before I watch someone react to it. That being said I look forward to your reactions and have enjoyed them immensely. The reason I have enjoyed them so much is that you are enjoying the shows and movies and songs I love so much and its fun to see you have fun with them and give us your thoughts on them. Someone shouldn't have to feel professional all the time they should be able to enjoy what they are doing especially a show or movie which was made for entertainment. I don't tend to comment or even read comments because of the toxicity level they seem to reach especially on YT. But there are so many who value what you do, the work you put in and enjoy your videos for exactly what they are. The only thing you can do is be who you are and be true to that. There is always going to be someone who isn't happy its the nature of the world can't please everyone. Whatever you decide to do, myself and everyone here will be here to enjoy it with you. ❤

Elizabeth

Aw that’s a shame. I would say keep doing it because you’re gonna get haters no matter what, but I understand you don’t want to harm the growth of your channel. My advice is to do a disclaimer at the beginning saying that these videos are just for fun so if you want an in depth reaction video, this isn’t for you. Or just do them with stuff you’ve already seen so you aren’t missing important info. I’m glad you’re keeping them here though. I think they’re a lot of fun and very entertaining.

Kaitlyn L

Such a shame that people can't tell you were having fun. It's a great reaction, and a fun time, and I understand the commenter's perspective, it is hard to introduce someone to something you love, and for them not to grasp the things you love about it. But that is zero excuse to be mad and rude about it. I'm sorry those people were too rude.

Casey

People can be so rude and thoughtless! They think that posting something online has no consequences and doesn’t effect that person in any way. Just ignore them! It is totally okay for you to have fun and let your guard down a bit when watching something! I think you should keep on doing them and seriously just ignore those people! ❤️

Megan Christina

People are so rude. From my side here, I was a little taken aback by all the laughing and questions and talking during RENT, mainly because I was expecting something more like the Glee ones, and wasn't expecting jokes about it and all that stuff. It's difficult when you love something and someone you love watching doesn't take it seriously. That said though, I think you should still do the Mimosas and Musicals. Even if it's a Patreon only thing, I think you should. As long as you make it clear that it's just a fun, not serious thing, it's not a serious review, etc, you should be fine. The difference too between here and YT, is that people here are here for YOU and your content, and know what to expect? YT is full of anyone and everyone, so you're going to get the jerks who want to put you down and insult your content.

Lauren

I know I was a little disappointed with the reaction because I was expecting a more thoughtful one like I’ve seen you so before. (Like for Tick Tick Boom and Encanto) But it was also fun to see you have fun. I am hoping you do the stage show and maybe pay a little bit more attention. Rent is a play that means a lot to people and they watch this stuff with the excitement that you would enjoy it too. It’s disheartening when someone just laughs and jokes all through something you were expecting to be taken seriously. (Although, let’s be honest, the movie is garbage and deserves to be dragged) I don’t mind the idea of mimosas and musicals, I guess I would have wanted to know before clicking that that’s what it was going to be. I went into that thinking (and being really excited for) a more serious take. Or at least you following along a little better. Ultimately, this is your stuff, you do you. No hate or anger from me. I just might be more selective about what I do with my money in the future. I still really hope you check out the stage show. Rent gets shit on a lot, it would be nice to see someone take it seriously. (Though again, the movie is terrible and should probably only be watched while drunk 😂)

Lauren

I get so annoyed and protective when I see comments like this. This is not constructive feedback and no one should be talking to you like this...But add to that the fact that this is from youtube comments...meaning it is from people who are getting your content completely for free. How dare they criticize the content you are providing them with FOR FREE! Unbelievable. All of us on here know how open to feedback you are. You ask for it all the time. You were very clear about what your Mimosas and Musicals parties would look like, and you delivered. There is no way to please everyone, and yet you provide so many different kinds of content that you actually do have something for everybody, which again, is why it is so infuriating that a few ignorant and rude people are treating you this way. Please know that we are all very grateful for all that you do!

Matty

Please keep the Mimosas & Musicals videos. I think a big part of this was that RENT tackles a lot of very serious human issues. The movie isn’t great. I’ve seen it performed live in New York (with some original cast) and it’s different. People can’t separate their emotions from art sometimes. Please don’t stop fun commentary about art. I appreciate that you can laugh at things.

Lauren

I don’t have the option to reply to you Seph Hernandez so I hope you see this. It wasn’t entirely on me. She said after her Rent reaction that she wanted mimosas and musicals to be a thing, not before. So yes, I went into watching that reaction thinking it would be a more serious and thoughtful take. I also only paid my actual money because I was excited to see what she would say about Rent and I was looking forward for her professional opinion because she’s a professional. It was only after that she suggested this drunk watch be a thing. I have no problem with that idea, I only wish I would have known before I paid money and gotten my hopes up. I meant zero disrespect with my comment, only offering up my opinion and my experience. I don’t appreciate your response. I haven’t been a patron supporter for long (literally was just here for Tick Tick Boom, Encanto, and Rent. I can’t stand Glee) and to see this is how Audrey’s “fans” talk and treat people really says a lot. I’m sorry Audrey, you have lost my support thanks to Seph. I wish you luck in the future.

SongsFromASuitcase

The rent video actually came out before the Mimosas and Musicals announcement. It was the FUN that I had from that video that inspired me to do more of then…hence the Mamma Mia video. So I can see how people could be confused with my watch party mood being more towards drinking and fun and less towards seriously watching and analyzing. I truly appreciate all of your opinions! It helps me understand my top viewers more. I plan on continuing with Mimosas and Musicals BUT I will put a couple warning at the beginning and change up the thumbnail to show the loose drinking feel of the video. I enjoy making them and clearly you enjoy watching them. These videos give you a look into who I am in Real Life. I am a normal person. I like to drink with friends and talk shit while watching musicals. I would never vocally analyze a singer while watching a movie with a friend. That would be weird! It simply time for me to kick back and enjoy without be “on” and I’d like to share that with you ❤️

Tina Jo

Audrey, I'm sorry you are getting some hate. I hope you continue the Mimosas and Musicals and just having fun. I guess I've never gone into any of your videos expecting too much seriousness. I don't know of many YT reaction videos that are serious? I guess I always assume they're mostly meant to be fun and entertaining, not like a serious instructional video. So I guess I don't know what some of these people are thinking. For anyone who says Audrey's a professional and should essentially act like it, you realize this is content she is providing for entertainment on YT? It's not her in her full-time job role. Also, she's a vocal coach, not a doctor providing medical advice. Maybe get over yourself and get off YT if that's your expectation.

Henry Munoz

I think what makes this channel so special is you. It's the combination of your insight with your grand personality that makes this such a great value. You keep being you, your fans will keep loving it!
