Hey everyone!

I'm here to show you the next WIP! I didn’t get as much done as I hoped since my sister came to visit and we spent a few days together.

The first thing I did was redoing the UV map for the rattan chair. Someone suggested I shold make a loveseat version and I always try to link the textures between similar items, so I had to adjust it for that.

Next up, I wanted to make a wallpaper and I won’t lie, I spent so much time on it because I just wasn’t happy with how my early attempts looked. I almost gave up and thought about leaving it out of the set, but I really hate giving up on things, so I kept pushing through (even though I didn’t have much time.

The version you can see in the picture above is what I finally came up with, and I’m somewhat satisfied with it. It gives off the vibe I was going for!

This was one of my earlier tries, but I really didn’t like the quality, so I decided to separate the cracks into decals and go for a “cleaner” base wall instead. I do like the colors though, so I’ll include some swatches in this style!

And lastly, I made the crack/damage decal. I’ll work on a few more tomorrow. I really love using the in-game ones, they can add so much character to a building.

Also, I wanted to show you the other side of the door because I’m really liking how the hardware turned out.

Next up: I really need to do the windows and finish the texture for the citrus tree. I also want to make a table to go with the patio furniture. So many tasks, so little time! :D

At this point, I can already tell I won’t have time to finish everything I had planned for the outdoor theme in this set, so I’ll continue it in the next part as well. I want to make more plants and gardening pieces, but that’ll come later!

That loveseat is gorgeous 🥰💕! I have the perfect house for your patio furniture. I can't wait to see the tree. Thank you so much for sharing your WIP 😊! Edited because I forgot to add how much I like the wall decals. 💕

I'll eat up an ajar door every time. Wonderful work!

As always, you're really good at doing lived in, rustic looks. I'm glad you got to spend some time with your sister!

Katharina

I'm so glad you ended up making a loveseat. Thank you so much for that cause it honestly looks amazing

VALIA

Thank you so much! I'm so excited to share it. I feel like these sets will be my favorite to create because I'm enjoying myself so much for the 1st part already.

VALIA

Thank you! I feel this theme really needs an ajar door. I want to add a lived-in look to it.

VALIA

Thank you! Yees, I'm already working on them.

VALIA

Thank you! I use them so much in my game. I really love the mold from For Rent :D

VALIA

Thank you! I've been living in Spain for 4 years and this was the first time my sister visited me here. It's always me who's going home, so it was so nice! And thank you for the nice words. I'm always trying to achieve that my sets have personality and evoke some type of a feeling. I don't think I'm always succeeding in that but at least I always have that in mind. :D

VALIA

Thank you! Hopefully it wasn't that big of a job because I "just" had to redo the UV map :D but I think it was a good idea because it's more versitile this way!

VALIA

Thank you! I saw a similar colored door on Pinterest and I knew I had to make one with this swatch. I'm also feeling some more vibrant colors wood look good. I definitely want to add a teal one. It would look good with the orange/beige walls.

VALIA

I mean, that's the point so I'm not sorry. :D I love sharing the wips, it a great way to shape the set with the feedback in mind, also it's a perfect way to tease people. :D

VALIA

Thank you so much, you're so nice saying that! I'm going to look for the tutorials and Youtube channels that were the most useful to me tomorrow (it's late now where I am). I think the most part it's not about modeling, rather than creating a whole. Sims 4 items and I think most games in general look good if their textures are good. I feel the "secret" lies there but evidently you need to know the technical stuff to reach to the point of creating textures. So I'll update you tomorrow with the channels! You can DM me here or on Instagram if you'd like.

I am so excited for this set!

If you start to learn Blender I think the trusty, old Blender Guru is a must. Some say there are better tutorials out there than his but it's a good place to start. I really liked Ryan King Art's videos. Especially his procedural texture ones. Although I don't use them for my CC I experimented with them when I started learning Blender. Polygon Runway has soo many videos and tutorials on modeling, you can learn so much by doing them. Although he doesn't have that many tutorials, I like SouthernShotty's videos and art style. It really inspired me in the beginning right along with tinynocky. These are my favorite Youtube channels but I always read on 3D modeling, Blender subreddits and find some really great tips there. Also my forever method for learning something new is to search directly on it on Youtube. :D Fortunately there are a ton of videos in every aspect of Blender. For example if you want to learn how make a sofa you can find a bunch of tutorials, you do one and see a lot of techniques which you can learn and use to create other things. The most important thing is to practice a lot and use the software frequently so you don't forget what you already know. Then if you think of something to create you open you mental library of techniques and use one. Also good tip I've learned, there is no right way or wrong way of doing something. If it gets the job done it's a good way. Sure there are some guidelines if you want to make game assets and good topology but in Blender and in other 3D softwares there are a lot of modifiers and tools so you can reach to the same point on different routes.
