There are a lot of questions about the clickers I use such as, where are the best deals for clickers? Which clickers work in your designs? Where can I find clickers in my region? Etc..

So I decided it would be best to have one central location where I can post links to clickers so everyone can know exactly what to buy and what works best for their situation. I will try to keep this post as up to date as possible but there is a chance some of the links may be broken at some point in the future. You need to cut the metal leads off the bottom of the switch so they are flush. Then you just push the clicker into the base. It should feel like it snaps in. Then the cap should slide right on. The cap is a fairly snug fit and I will dab superglue on if I know they will be given to young children/handled roughly but the glue is not required.

The best deal ones, do they have the awesome clicky sound? I bought one pack from Amazon that had the sound and then bought a different brand but the different brand didn't have the clicky sound. Just wanna know before I buy them. ❤️

The color of the clicker determines the sounds they make. The White ones are the most clicky followed by brown and jade. Black and red are not clicky. So you just have to make sure you get the right one and read the descriptions and comments if you can to double check. I believe the "Best Deal" ones have options for the color and quantity.

New sub here, love the designs. If you want to support more key switch options, open up the key pocket X axis to 15.65mm on the top down about 3.2mm. This will clear the locating tabs on a lot of the popular key switches.

We actually have been working on a new pocket design for the bases that does almost exactly this and will be incorporated into the next release! Please let me know if that works for you (when it's released) or if there is still something we can do to make the design more universal!

This is a great post. I'm wondering, do you have any suggestions on where you get your keyrings you use in your photos as well? I was having trouble finding that kind of keyring using a few searches on Amazon, and I know a few people who want items as keyrings.

Hi! I'm not sure which keychains you're referring to but here are some keywords to try to throw into Amazon/Google to see if they are the ones you're looking for: Ball Bead Chains, Star Shaped Spring Keychain Clip, 1 Inch Binder Rings, Split Key Ring with Chain. Hope this helps!

Whats the best way to remove the contact points in the keys?

By contact points, do you mean the metal leads on the bottom of the clickers? If so, you can either bend them over with pliers or rolling them on a table. If you want to remove them, I like using "Flush Cutters". They are cheap and do a great job and I also use them for cutting ends of filament so they are multipurpose!

Cherry switchs fit on the new base design, so Leaf Lovers and newer! But I am working on updating the existing designs with the new base as well but that might take some time because I'm prioritizing new content and any free time goes to updating the old stuff!

Do you recommend gluing these in place? Like, gluing the switch to the base, and then the cap to the switch?

I would never glue the clicker to the base, it holds in there really well. If yours isn't, make sure you're cutting everything off Flush on the bottom so it seats all the way! I will sometimes glue the caps if I know they are going on a backpack or to small kids just to be safe! I glued all the Halloween clickers I gave out this year. Just a tiny dab of superglue on the + of the clicker is all you need

Hi Robyn, what switches are you using? And are you sure you are putting them in the right way? They can go in 4 ways and only 2 of them will lock in.

Kailh jade is slightly louder than the kailh white! Can’t say whether there are others louder at this point. White and jade are my go-tos for clicky though!

Yes, and if you bought V2s, there are 2 plastic bits you need to cut off as well. You can also fold them over but cutting them seems to be the easiest

I order the Kailh Box White Mechanical Keyboard Switches, when clicking them they are pretty much silent. Is there a version that will have a actual click sound like the old keyboards?

Hi John, the whites are almost as clicky as it gets. You can get Kailh Box Jade or Pinks which are slightly louder but not by much. Try it in a base because some of that should comes from the plastic cap hitting the base when you strike a key.

I got the Ajazz Gift 45gf Linear Mechanical Switch Set before I saw your list of compatible ones, will these work? I’ve tried but they aren’t sitting flush with the outer rim of the turtle

They will probably not fit in the turtle base because it has the old base design but there is a new design in the works for the turtle that you can try!

Hello - Love your designs and just purchased your clickers from pawpularprints.com. Which slicer do you recommend for your .3mf files to retain the color info? I use Bambu Studio and when I load one of your designs I get the message: "The 3mf is not from Bambu Lab, load geometry data only." I've tried Orca, Prusa, and Cura slicers as well and don't see the color info (and I'm relatively new to 3d printing). If you have an FAQ that answers this question could you point me there?

Hi! I saw someone else asked this, but I didn't see an answer. Do you know of any clickers that are silent? While the click is very satisfying, there are some people I know who have auditory sensitivities that would use these for the action, but struggle with the sound.

Yea! Check out Kaily Red or Black! They are silent but not tactile. Kailh Box Brown is silent and tactile

I also use Bambu Studio to slice these for PYE Games. I just select the import geometry option and it usually still brings up the colored version for me. I hope that helps, we love our Pawpular Prints!

Yes, the kailh whites linked in this post will work in 2 orientations and not work in the other 2. If you have something else like Gateron, those don't work in the old base design. The new base design was introduced in Leaf Lovers so anything newer is the new base design

I have a few assembly videos on my Instagram and pinned in the #help channel on Discord. You have to make sure to cut everything off the bottom of the clicker, the metal leads and any plastic posts (kailh V2s). You don't have to clip the middle post. Cut it as far as possible. What clicker are you using?

It depends on what you're downloading. The older stuff is still STLs and I'm working on going through it and making them 3mfs. All the newer stuff is 3mf almost exclusively! Did you have a specific model you were having issues with?

That's odd you had the same issue with Penguins. Those should have been saved similarly to all of the newer models as 3mfs. Let me check the other models. The Oh My (lions, tigers bears) and Forest Friends (Raccoon, bunnies, etc) were all saved differently, but the caps I'm seeing are all 3mfs. The bases are stls. Do you happen to have Discord? I'm curious what you are seeing when downloading and opening these files and it's a lot easier to send pics on Discord it you do have it and could hop on our server.

I figured it out. When I import the cap it is loading right side up. I noticed that the color for the faces is under so I rotate the cap and all is good.

There are quite a few single color models like the Puzzle Packs! I've also started adding Raised version of some caps so single color printers can easily print multiple colors by changing the color at a specific layer. Im hoping to make some YouTube video tutorials to show how to do this better in the future!

if you have a Microcenter near you (US only, i believe), then they have packs of 120 Kailh switches (jade, white, copper,bronze, silver, red, black, brown and purple) for $40 (30ish cents per keyswitch). Much cheaper than amazon, and even Kaihl's own site, after shipping.

if you are using bambu studio or orca slicer, you can remove paint work with basically a single click in the painting menu. I do that with most of my multi-Color prints. I find the time wasted on any printer's multi-color annoying, and manually coloring in needed spots, even with a sharpie, is better.

Thoughts on the silent clickers? Are they click worthy?

Are you asking the silent Pawpers or any silent clicker? The pawpers don’t have the same tactile feel but do have a satisfying resistance to them. In general silent clickers seem appreciated as an option for schools/churches/other silent places, but they will have a slightly different feel.

Silent is definitely a good option for these! Any description that says silent or linear should be silent and if the description says clicky it has a sound and often a more tactile feel! I do not. There are a few I've seen out there now but they have a pretty high resistance in my experience and they don't go straight down, it's more like a jack-in-the-box feel if that makes sense?

Thanks for the quick reply, Yeah seen a few but dont like them, thought Id ask incase you did. Ordered my second round of clickers from you friday so next ones maybe the silent ones. We are working with a school group that allows neural divergent kids to have fidgets in class but cannot make noise. Thanks for all the work you do we are excited to start making a bunch of your clickers! We just got a 3d printer 2 weeks ago and with 3 spicey divergent kids the clickers have been a hit!

I haven't been successful with downloading the 3mf files to Bambu Studio and retaining the colors, etc. Am I missing a step?

I'm having similar issues with this also, although I'm using the latest version of AnycubicSlicerNext. It just keeps saying it's only able to read geometric data only. In spite of this, I was able to print one of the Emotional Simple Pack prints, facedown and without any issues, but anything I've tried since, will only print without colors retained, even though the slicer shows the correct number of colors and even color changes. I hate to piggyback off another's comment, I just felt like the fix might be the same for both problems lol. Thank you kindly in advance!

Hi! I'm new! I purchased the clickers that you suggested, and I can't get any of them in. Is there a trick to it? I am trying to put them in the music notes, and none of the little plus signs are going in. Help?

Hi! That’s not good. Just gotta make sure I am understanding correctly: the switch fits in the base fine, but you are having issues getting the cap onto the switch? Does it look like the + sign printed cleanly?

I saw on your webpage that we're supposed to remove the two metal pins at the bottom of the clickers - am I reading that right? Does it affect the clicker if you don't remove them?

You need to either remove or bend so they are flush. Taller designs we’ve cut space for them, but most designs the clicker won’t sit properly if the metal pieces are not removed of bent.

How do you get the metal peices out of the clickers?

You can either bend them over flat or use some Flush Cutters and snip them. But make sure you have eye protection!
