I’m a dummy I’ve never fallen for a scam before 😭 I thought I was too smart but SIKE anyone is at risk I guess 😫

Run malwarebytes and virus scan on the zip file and computer. Lucky it was a PO Box and not home address but you can use your phone to block numbers. As far as embarrassment, can go with the “ it didn’t work out, I disagreed with them” and future sponsorship opportunities, have a friend you trust look over them to see if they can spot any sketch stuff you may miss. Wishing you the best and hopefully this is the end of it

Changing your passwords is a good move, also change the your number that is registered to your accounts because they can use that too, I think. But why did you open the zip file?!? Nah Im kidding lol, but seriously sometimes things like that happen so we can improve ourselves, I guess? Its gonna be ok 😉

Do everything Simon said. Don't wait. Disconnect from the internet while you run it and don't touch the computer until it's done. It will get rid of anything malicious and you will be ok. Good call on changing your passwords. Setup two factor authentication if you haven't already. Locking your credit file is also an option if you're concerned about anything getting opened on your name. Source: I work in IT.

Make sure to setup Two-factor authentication, if you haven't already. Avoid using SMS based 2FA and prefer standalone applications (like Google Authenticator)

If you wanna keep your # anonymous you can make a Google Voice account and it’ll give you a different number to choose from. But avoid trying to do that and stick to asking to do Zoom/Teams calls instead.
