House of Alphas Chapter 46: Totally Spies (Patreon)

There she was…right in front of you…The all-powerful witch. The one that took you many tries to defeat. The one that had you pulling at your hair. The dark souls of bosses. Of course, she wasn't as hard to fight as the weeping widow Rika… that fight made you cry…but she was one of the top bosses that you did not scoff at.

You died too many times… and here she was. The very bane of your existence.

What was she doing here? Was she preparing for an attack? Was something about to go down? You don't remember any reports of a fight in Shapuro so early on… most importantly…why does she seem so… normal?

“Do you like it?” Getou questioned as you ate your food. Well you weren’t really eating it, you were too deep in thought. Stick in hand as you still had three more sticky balls left.

“Oh yeah, it's good.” it was really good and tasted like a crispy donut with meat inside. If you weren't so caught up with the witch then you would have gobbled it down and asked for another.

“If she doesn't want it, I’ll eat it.” Gojo came over about to bite your snack but you pulled it away just in time as his teeth clamped on air.

“Imma eat it greedy alpha.” you growl making the others chuckle.

You barely stepped two feet from Panda’s shop when an old man with a cane approached.

“Excuse me alpha…can you please help us? We have a lot of heavy stuff that a strapping young lad like yourself would have no sweat with.” The man smiled with crinkling eyes. It was clear he was speaking to your biggest alpha.

Toji hesitated for a second, looking toward you.

Flashing him a reassuring grin you nod, “Go ahead and go!” Then you gestured to the others, “You guys don't have to stay around me all the time, I'm not a pup you know. Please enjoy yourselves or do what you need to!”

“I'll help him out quickly and then I'll be back…” Toji bent down to kiss your cheek, “Don't go too far from us…and don't start any trouble.”

“I won't daddy.” After Toji left to assist the elderly, you turned to see everyone else standing around you. Not moving a muscle. “What are you guys still doing here?”

“Are you trying to get rid of us? Are we annoying you- *gasp* Am I annoying you?” Gojo sounded hurt but you shook your head swiftly.

“No! I'm saying you can enjoy your time! Inumaki said there was a greeeat spa in town you should check it out hmmm. Don't you need a massage for your old bones? ”

Gojo and Getou exchanged glances before speaking. “What are you going to do?”

“Enjoy the town, I dunno. Wherever my nose carries me.”

“If it will please you...” Getou flipped his hand to Nanami, “Ahem- Our omega says we have to go get a massage, would you be so kind?”

Nanami adjusted his glasses, “I don't think that's exactly what she said…but…I'm going to give you guys a limit so spend it wisely.”

“Well, the massages don't count because we were ordered to get one.” Gojo pointed out.

Nanami dropped two bags in the hands of the alphas with a firm tone, “This is it. Do with it as you please, but do not ask for anymore.”

Your dramatic alpha gasped when he opened the bag, “Wait wait- this isn't enough!”

“Make it enough.”

“Ah, man…” Though the alphas were grumbling they didn't forget to give you a kiss goodbye before merging with the crowd.

Just as they went a group of young adults scurried over in excitement.

“Ah! It’s Alpha Kento!” The girl in front with pigtails was the one to talk for them all, “Kento! We were just on our way to paint, we would love for you to join us!”

“Yes, you have such an eye for art!” another added as the group agreed enthusiastically.

Nanami put his hand upon his chest in a manner of apology, “Oh- I'm a little busy-”

“He would love to!” you grinned while giving the alpha a side hug.

“Ah-” the flustered blonde looked toward you as he whispered into your ear, “…I do not wish to leave you alone…”

“I won't be alone I got Sukuna.” you whispered back to him, “besides- look how excited they are!”

Just as he looked at the group it was like their smiles grew ten times bigger. The alpha sighed in defeat, “I will go but please don't go too far, don't talk to strangers, don't cause any trouble, and be sure-mph!”

You kissed the blonde to shut him up and then pulled back with a giggle while pushing him forward. “Nanami~ go~ I'll be fine.”

He still seemed unsure, “Don't you... want to know about what happened to make you black out?”

Coniving- sneaky- alpha!

You kept your expression cool, not allowing him to see that you actually do want to know about that, and for a moment you did rethink it but not right now. Right now you had something… more important to worry about... “…I can wait.”

Seeing that his last-ditch effort didn't work the blonde finally conceded, giving you some money before leaving with the excited artists.

You kept your smile on your face as Nanami left. He continued to glance back at you every second he got. Once he was out of site you turned to Sukuna who was looking at you suspiciously.

And then there was one.

“Did you see the weapon shop we passed on our way in?”

His lids lowered, “What are you up to.” he stated matter of factly. Like he just knew you were up to no good.

“Nothing.” You snort, “Is it a crime to want my alphas to spoil themselves?”

“I’m not falling for it.”

“…”

“…”

“You wanna go shopping with me-”

“You said the armory was where?

Alone at last.

You walk the streets with your hood upon your head, trying to hide in the crowd and be as discreet as possible. Stopping by shops and asking questions about the items that you thought your alphas would like. You buy a few things for them but in truth, shopping wasn't your main goal.

“Ah~ this necklace is just soooo pretty!”

You glance out the corner of your eye as you watch what is more important than learning what the hell occurs when you black out- the unknown witch. She was holding up a gold necklace as if she could envision it with the best outfit.

This was your plan all along. Trying to understand who this villain is. You wouldn't have been able to move so quietly with your alphas around so yes you did give them the boot- all in good intentions though. You also didn't think she would feel so comfortable with you approaching with five beasts. You needed to see her for who she was, in her natural habitat.

If you could figure this witch out you could save yourself a ton of stress...and of course many lives.

So far you've learned that her name is Nobara and the girl she is with goes by Maki. The two betas seemed to have a really close relationship, perhaps a comrade? To be fair they just seemed like regular people. You don't mean that in an insulting way but in a way that differentiates them from the wicked witch in the game. The one that was killing everyone without mercy. Maki doesn't appear in the game so you don't know exactly where she stands on the good vs evil scale.

“Hot or no?” Nobara questioned as she turned to and fro.

“You make anything look hot.” Maki winked at her making the girl blush and tuck her hair behind her ear.

Oh, it seemed their relationship was a bit more than just close friends. It would appear they might be roommates.

“Ma’am?" A man called to you, "Ma'am? Do you like the dress?”

“Hm?” you looked back at what you were doing, pretending to be looking at what appeared to be a very revealing dress. It had a deep cut in the middle, slits on the sides, and down both sides of the skirt, this dress left nothing to the imagination. Could it even be considered a dress? You were just feeling it because the fabric felt nice, you weren’t actually looking at what you were touching.

"It's a one-of-a-kind, a divine dress made with the best-"

“Oh- no, I was just looking…” You quickly dismiss the man before he starts going on his sailing rant. As you spoke to him you noticed the girls leave the stand they were at. You bowed to the owner and slowly began to walk, keeping an eye on your targets.

This girl sure did love shopping.

This time you stop from across from them, hiding behind a rack with hats hanging on it. Moving them around you checked them out while thinking of a way to get closer to Nobara. Maybe you could point something out, or just so happen to like the same thing she likes. Start a conversation with her, become friendly, and get to know her. See what she was really about. Yes… all you needed to do was just go up to her and say-

“Haaaaiiiii~.”

“Eeeeek!” you let out a surprised yip as you turned to look at Junpei who had snuck up on you. “Junpei?!”

“Oh hey, Raven whachaaaa dooooin?” Yuuji smiles behind the blue monster, Megumi right beside him.

“Yuuji what is Junpei doing here?” you question looking around. It seemed like no one was paying the blue monster any mind but rather looking at you because of your outburst. "S-sorry." you bowed your head as you turned back to Yuuji for an explanation.

“I thought it be cool to show Junpei around!”

“Y-yes I see that but you shouldn't have him out here…”

“Everyone just thinks I'm a spirit handler.” Yuuji shrugs nonchalantly, “...and when he starts to get annoyed I just play him his favorite song.”

You pursed your lips together looking at the monster omega as it scratched at its arm shyly. You were glad Yuuji had taken up caring for Junpei but the boy was quite naive like a damn protagonist in an anime. His shiny good personality was too damn bright. If Junpei attacks someone, even if it were an accident, he could be killed. “Listen Yuuji I know-”

“The girl you are stalking is getting away.” Megumi states nonchalantly.

You gasp, turning your head upon instinct to see where the girls were going but were very surprised to see that Nobara hadn't moved. Did...did Megumi lie…he did that on purpose- little sh-. You try to backpedal your obvious mistake, whipping your head back around as you say, “I-i wasn't stalking anyone.”

“Why'd you look.”

You were going to punch him.

“A secret spy mission?” Yuuji questioned as he picked up a hat and then ducked down looking back and forth, “Who are we hunting?”

Junpei even joined in slapping on a bunbun hat as he looked the other way- "Radarada."

Nice...not at all suspicious…

You press your fingers into your eyes as you sigh, “No one because I'm not-”

"She's coming this way." Megumi speaks plainly.

"Yeah right fool me once-"

“Aaaah~ the bards.” Nobara…the very woman you were spying on- came over with a snobby tone, “Have you come to rethink my proposal hm? My singing had you turning right back around!”

"Oh hey it's that girl- is it her Raven?" Yuuji questions while pointing not just one finger at her but two-

FOR THE LOVE OF-

"What are you talking about?" Nobara and Maki both looked at you as you felt sweat bead upon your neck.

Then something clicked as Nobara gasped in shock, "Prime omega!" The two bowed politely. "Good afternoon, to what do I owe the pleasure of such a fine woman like yourself!"

Alright, she was laying on the sweet talk a little thick.

"I was just-"

"She was spy-"

You slap a hand on Megumi's mouth as you laugh awkwardly, "I-I-I the prime omega... just wanted to hear you sing! I've been looking for someone to sing for me and you just might be it!"

"Ohh~" Yuuji seemed to fall for your lie...

"REALLY!?" Nobara gasped. Oh nice so did she.

“Yes, and my alpha will pay you beautifully.”

That seemed to have her wiggling in excitement, "W-WELL-" She cleared her throat as she swiftly changed gears into a more professional mode. "Of course! I can sing for you!" You could tell she was containing her excitement, eyes sparkling brightly. You were surprised to see so much raw excitement. "Let's go somewhere more quieter so you can hear the prowess of my voice.

"Absolutely, and the bards can come along too." You knew Yuuji wouldn't care about you adding him but you wanted to have someone nearby just in case this was a trap and you were being led into your demise. You were not at a high enough level to fight her and her friend on your own.

"Lead the way."

Nobara and Maki began to lead the group as Megumi looked toward you.

"You know she's terrible right."

"She can't be that bad."

Megumi was right...

Nobara could not sing.

You kept a straight face as you listened to the woman bellow out another high note that was akin to a catfight. You were sitting on a stone bench under a tree in a nice park. Yuuji, Megumi, and Nobara stood before you and performed. Junpei sat on the ground while Maki sat next to you.

"Doesn't she sound pretty?" Maki gushed.

You don't know if she was lying or her ears were tone-deaf to her crush.

"Uh...let me listen to the rest of it before I say my piece."

Nobara finished her song with a hum, "How was that prime omega?"

"Yes, how was it?" Megumi questioned in his sarcastic tone.

You clapped your hands together and breathed deeply, "Are you ready for my honesty?" You say with all seriousness.

Nobara looked nervous as she nodded, "Yes- was it bad? Just tell me I can take it!"

"I think you have a lot of potential and therefore..." Pointing at Megumi you say, "I want you to learn from Megumi and Yuuji so you could find your beautiful voice!"

"What the-"

"Really? You think I have it in me?" Nobara's eyes formed into hearts.

"With the bards help absolutely! Please sir Yuuji- train Nobara so that she may become a star!"

"YES SEE MAKI- A STAR~ Everyone will know my name far and wide- I will be famous- wahahahaha~" Nobara grabbed Yuuji as she started dancing with him. "Starrrr~ starr~ I'll get money and become a starrrr~ I'll buy all the clothes and shop till I can’t~!"

Maki began to laugh as did you, especially so looking at Megumi who looked super annoyed by this outcome. You placed a hand to your lips as you tried to hold in your more evil chuckle.

"First the curse and now the banshee..." Megumi grumbled.

"Let me teach you the star dance." You giggle standing up.

"Star dance?" Nobara questioned as she stopped spinning around.

"Yes, I learned it from someone back at home. It's really easy let me show you."

You begin to sing as you show them how to do the Mamushi dance, of course, you use your hips more as you tweak the dance a bit. You were surprised by how much fun you were having with them. You almost forgot that this woman had wiped out your entire party in the game. You couldn't get a hint of evil from her.

"How on Tengen's planet do you move your hips like that?" Nobara hissed trying to get the moves right.

"Practice practice~" You smile doing a little spin as you wind your hips around. Well, you didn't practice but she didn't need to know that.

"You should have seen the other cool dance she did! It went something like this!" Yuuji threw his hands on his knees as he got in the throw-it-back position and you nearly screamed.

"NO ITADORI!"

"WHAT?!"

"ERASE THAT DANCE FROM YOUR MIND!"

"Now I'm curious about this secret move, I heard so much about it." Maki chuckled. "It's the one that won the alphas' hearts did it not?"

"No- that was all a misunderstanding! I- you see I messed up, but luckily they liked me for another reason. It definitely wasn't that wild dance that swooned them."

Well except Toji, he loved that shit.

DingDong Ding Dong~

The clock tower began to chime, everyone pausing what they were doing to stare at it as if it were hypnotizing.

After it finished its song Maki sighed as she stood up. "We gotta go Nobara."

"Damn, I lost track of time." Nobara popped her lips looking toward you. "We must be leaving but we will catch you guys later prime omega.”

You smile as you say, “You don't have to call me prime omega… Raven is just fine.”

“Alright Raven, Yuuji- Megumi-”

“Don’t forget about Junpei!” Yuuji patted the monster on top of its head.

“Raa~.”

“And Junpei.” Nobara added. “We will catch you later.”

“Perhaps tomorrow? Would you sing for me again? Maybe I could get you some Stezles for your troubles?”

“St-stezles-! Ah, that is the only finest piece of meat you could find- the juiciest food that just melts in your mouth -it cost almost a fortune! You would grace me so your Highness?” her mouth was practically watering at the idea of what your world considers steak.

“If it is no trouble for you.” you offered as if it were her that was blessing you. Which in a way she would be if she doesn't try to murder the ones you love.

“I'd be honored!”

“It's a date, see you girls tomorrow!” You waved at them as they began to walk away.

They must have thought they were out of earshot because you heard Nobara say, “She is a lot nicer than I heard.”

“Yea, I like her…”

It warmed your heart to know they were nice but that just further confused the situation. As you watched the woman with short brown hair laugh and smile today you realized there was no way she and the witch were the same people. It was absolutely impossible. She felt… so genuine and kind. Despite you being a prime omega her company didn't seem all too forced. A canon event must have occurred for her to become that nasty witch, but can you keep her close enough to stop it? If only you knew what and when it was.

“I'm assuming you will be calling us tomorrow too. Is my sperm donor paying for our time?” Megumi questioned bringing you back to reality. Yuuji was busy playing for Junpei calming the omega down.

“What?” You speak while watching how gentle Itadori is with the omega. “You aren't doing this out of the goodness of your heart?”

“I don't do charity work.”

“Oh hush Nanami is already paying for all your expenses.”

Yuuji had just finished his song, Junpei breathing a sigh of relief.

“Uuu…uuuuuiiii…”

“It sounds like he’s trying to say your name… I think he wants to say thank you.”

“Huh is that it?” Yuuji questioned as the omega nodded. “No need to thank me- what are friends for right?”

You could see the obvious relief in Junpei’s eyes, no longer being forced to kill. Though he was still a monster he seemed to be a lot happier to find such a caring friend.

“Well, I guess it's time for us to leave too. I'm sure Sukuna is getting annoyed with how much time I've been spending with you.”

“Sukuna? Why would he be annoyed he's at the armory?”

“No, he's not he's been following us this whole time.”

HE’S BEEN WHAT?!

You turn to glare off into the distance hoping you were looking into his soul.

“He’s over there actually.” Yuuji redirected you by turning your shoulders.

You didn't see your alpha as you squinted your eyes at the people walking down the stone path. You then looked toward the trees, “Is he in the tree.”

“He’s in the tree.”

You rolled your eyes. You could very well believe Sukuna had been following you this whole time, you doubt he went to the weapon shop. “Alright, I believe I spent enough time away from my alpha. Sometimes they can get moody.”

“It’s only been a few hours.”

“Doesn't matter.”

“I'm surprised you haven't tried to run away.”

You let out a hearty laugh. Boy does he know.

After saying goodbye you sat on your bench people watching. Waiting for your Joe Golberg to make his presence known.

“Was the banshee your target.” Sukuna’s voice spoke from behind you.

Right on time.

“That’s kind of rude.” you lightly joke.

“Unlike you, I don't lie.”

“I didn't. I said she had potential if she got help.”

“Tch-” Sukuna let out a little snort, “…clever girl. Did you know her? You looked scared when you saw her.”

“Are you going to come sit next to me? I don't bite you know.” you pat the bench looking back at your alpha who was standing behind you like a guard.

He looked down at you with an amusing glint in his eyes. “You're right. I do.”

“Good thing I'm not afraid hm?” you gave him a playful wink. Yet he didn't reply. Cat having caught his tongue.

“…”

There was a moment of the two of you staring each other down. You notice that you find yourself in a glare-off quite often with Sukuna. It was funny how instants like these could feel so intense. Your heart was most definitely racing but you liked to stump Sukuna with your random acts of boldness. It was a game you found quite fun.

“Hm.” Sukuna moved around the bench plopping down next to you as he crossed his foot upon his knee, leaning back with his arms crossed. “You’re avoiding the topic. Why were you following that girl, don't tell me it's because you want her singing for our matting moon.”

You fold your hands as you lean back, gaze looking outward upon nothing really. Truly you didn't know what to say. Maybe a little bit of the truth. “She reminded me of someone… who wasn't very nice and I just wanted to see if she was the same person.”

“Someone in your past.”

“You could say that.”

“Before the house?”

“I… don't remember much before the house. I was young when I arrived.” You gotta change the topic before he starts asking too many questions. “…What about you? Why did you keep your distance from us?”

“I don't like that brat.”

“Yuuji is not a brat. He is a gentle and kind soul. He's taking care of Junpei when he doesn't have to. Always trying to help out as much as he can… you can tell it genuinely makes him happy.”

“…”

You sniffed smelling the sour smell oozing from your alpha. You looked toward him meeting his red orbs.

“Su-”

“So you like him huh? He’s everything I'm not.” Well yeah, he is. “You want him instead?”

“No Kuna... I rather like my feisty alpha just the way he is.” There are a few toxic traits he could fix but pointing them out now would do you no good. “I'm just saying he seems to want a relationship with you. Family is very important. Especially ones like Yuuji. He would always have your back.”

“That’s where you are wrong. Our views are very different. He’s whiny and annoying, yapping about what is right. He’s fucking annoying.”

Yup, that talk went as well as you expected it to go.

“And I don’t appreciate you hanging out with him...yuck- and smelling like him.” Sukuna’s nose curled as he grabbed your arm dragging you close to his side.

“Seriously? I barely smell like him...” You grumble as Sukuna begins to nuzzle you, masking you in his scent. The two of you must looked like a loving couple cuddling together, displaying a bit too much public display of affection… for you. However, you don't fight much, only fussing a bit as he got rid of any ‘stench’. That was until he grabbed a handful of your breast.

“Ai- Sukuna!” you gasped grabbing his wrist, but that tongue of his was licking at your neck. You cried out pushing on the alpha, nervous gaze going to those that were passing.

“I figured it out…” He grinned as he moved his face in front of yours. “…I gotta train you out of your shyness.”

Train?!

“Uh no thanks, I'll be just fine-”

“There’s not that many people here, it would be perfect practice.”

“I-I think you are misunderstanding-”

“Think of this as my massage huh.” He moved his hand to sneak under your dress, his touch making you shiver, but being in public made you want to dive into the waters and never surface. You felt as though all eyes were on you.

You look behind Sukuna as your eyes go wide, “Y-Yuuji!”

Sukuna growled at the name as he turned to tell his brother to fuck off but he found that the boy was nowhere to be found. He looked back in forth thinking he was going crazy. Did you just…lie to him…?

“SHADOWSTEP!”

“What-” Sukuna looked back as a dark fog had taken your place and you were already running down the path like a Zalbat out of hell. You- you lied! “OMEGA!”

“BYE~!”

You dare run away from him?!
