House of Alphas Chapter 66: Pride (Patreon)
Content
You did your best to not think too much of the passive-aggressive comments said about you. You were here to get help for the Chi village and streghten your light magic. There wasn’t much time for you to focus on the piece of shit leather that walked in front of you.
You don’t know how such a holy place could praise an alpha who treated omegas like property…more so than others… Well, that was kind of the issue of this universe, to begin with…omegas were the submissive ones who bowed to their alphas and did as they said. Hell, you were bought from an omega house!
Now and in the game.
It’s sad because no one saw a problem with it except you. This was their normal. No other omega had a problem with it. Some of them wholeheartedly embarrassed it. Enjoyed it.
Dove’s options were always on the submissive side and if she acted out she would be punished usually by Sukuna. She always took those punishments in stride and accepted them. One time she snitched on herself! That’s why she doesn’t run into issues like this in the game because she behaves like a ‘good’ omega.
She always got comments about it.
‘She has such fine manners’
‘What a respectful omega’
‘You have trained her well.’
All of these comments were said about her to her alphas and she’d smile politely as the alphas thanked the person who complimented her. Dove spoke when spoken to.
You had really glossed over that shit when you played the game in the comfort of your home. Playing the game was different than being in it… like for real. You don’t mind these types of things in a fantasy world. That’s the most important part-FANTASY- Your morals are a lot different when it came to it being REAL. You wouldn’t wish this type of world upon anyone. The feminists of your world would be screaming! Outraged and ready to throw hands!
But you were alone here.
No one would link arms with you and demand retribution.
It was just the world it was.
Unfortunately, the way you behaved could be seen as disrespectful.
However, you believe your alphas are aware of this and know you are not like other omegas. Not to say that in a ‘quirky’ way but you quite literally were not an omega. You were a human being in an omega body. You didn’t have all the omega instincts and etiquette. With everything that you have done up until now if you were Dove, any other omega, or just simply had different alphas, you would have been disciplined one hundred times over.
Sukuna was the only one that wanted to correct your behavior but your other alphas have been stopping him from doing so.
They allowed you to be with- what you would consider the alpha form of- gentle parenting.
The only time they truly get upset is if you put yourself in danger.
If these old farts were big on respect then you weren’t sure if you could behave like yourself, especially considering that they executed one of their own over a mistake. Even though it was a big mistake you still don’t think the punishment weighed the same as the crime.
They were without a doubt ruthless no matter how ‘good’ they may seem. You felt that they were a bit extreme with their beliefs.
With Toji’s previous comment about fixing your attitude, you could only assume that he might feel the same way and doesn’t wish for you to get into trouble.
Again you considered if life would have been better if you had been Issekai in a game that didn’t have so many conflicting ideals. To be fair, The House of Alphas game wasn’t the worst.
Silent hill? Resident evil? Dead Space?
Yeah…
You will consider yourself lucky on that note.
This was but a simple obstacle that you could get over.
You put all these pieces together right as you made it to your destination, making a final decision to swallow your inner prideful femi queen. Quickly you whisper to Nanami, “You should take the lead.”
“Understood…” Your blonde gave you a little nod, his tone sounded slightly apologetic.
It was obvious you both were coming to the same conclusion, but he may have noticed it before you.
Pitiful as it may be… the grand priest might not take you seriously if you took control of the discussion and presented the information.
It pissed you off but, you had to remind yourself this wasn’t about you, but those that require help. You can worry about the old fart another time.
As you entered the sunroom there were other alpha priests and priestesses. Four to be exact. All sat around the stone table that was shaped like a sun. The light beamed in from above, casting a brilliant glow on them all. They were discussing something when you had entered but quickly went hush.
You don’t remember their names and you didn’t want to know either. Your mind was the only safe place you had control. So you just went with your own names, hag one and two. One had white braids that were pulled up into a bun and the other, hag two, had short wavy white hair that framed her face.
Then there was Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. Tweedle Dee had long gray hair while Tweedle Dum had a pointy beard and all his hair pulled into a low rat tail braid.
The white robes were very deceiving, as well as the sunroom. It gave off kindness and acceptance but in reality, this room was probably filled with the most judgmental people on this continent. The sun that was supposed to feel comforting was more like a magnifying glass exposing you and all your sins.
Judgment.
You felt as though you were being judged by the way you walked, talked, and breathed.
You were starting to feel as though these holy people weren’t as good as you thought they were.
“Prime alphas?” hag one questioned. “To what do we owe the honor of your presence?”
“Our prime alphas have urgent news.” The grand priest informed while walking to the center chair.
“Very well then, please sit.” The woman nodded as everyone moved to take a seat.
Nanami grabbed your hips and pulled you with him. You could feel the slight pressure, almost like he was giving you a warning. You didn’t understand the signal until you realized he was pulling you into his lap. It may have been something to do with the fact that you yourself cannot (not allowed to) have a seat at such a big and bad table meant for big and stinky alphas. Your blonde probably realized you were going to pitch a fit if you had to kneel on a cushion, and therefore seated you with him.
You can tell your alpha was trying to keep you from getting in trouble. However, you are surprised it is that bad. So bad you can’t even sit at this damn table? Like seriously? You couldn’t believe the sticks that were far up the priests’ asses. Not even the other alphas you came across behaved this way. Hell Hakari applauded your attitude. Maybe Kirara and you could inspire a bit of change.
You kept your lips pressed tight…keeping silent as your blonde began.
“Our first discussion is the Chi Village.” Nanami nodded toward Toji as he slid the scroll to the elders. Their eyebrows furrowed while they read the message together. Your blonde alpha continued during their examination. “We believe they have been cursed…Getou.” Nanami gestured for the man to speak next.
Getou seemed caught off guard by the sudden pass, he had thought you were going to showcase your findings. The alpha wanted these crusty dusties to understand that it was you who was the mastermind. But with a hidden nod from you he understood what was going on. The elders were much too outdated in their ideals. Getou cleared his throat as he adjusted himself in his seat. “When I look at them with the spell Vizi, I can see a dark spot upon their bodies… each in different places.”
Gakuganji rubbed his beard, “A curse…and you do not know how to dispel it?”
“That’s the problem.” Getou had a slight tick of annoyance, “We don’t know what the curse is. Our omega…” He spoke with a bit of prominence,”…can see what the symbol is. She had drawn it out...”
Right on cue Toji pulled out the piece of paper and slid it over.
Some eyes glanced at you before they were redirected to the symbol that was drawn.
“…We had never seen anything like this. Perhaps you might.”
There was a long pause as they stared at the drawing. Then they sat back in silence.
“Well?” Gojo questioned with impatience.
The grand priest smacked his lips, “How did your omega see something that you yourself could not see Getou?”
You lowered your eyebrows, lips in motion but, Nanami squeezed your thigh gently. You grit your teeth, swallowing the heat that threatens to escape you. You could feel that familiar scorch… it was like bottling in your anger was physically burning you within.
Sukuna’s bored tone boomed loudly, “Our omega has dark and light curse energy...” He made sure to emphasize that you had both. With how the information seemed to take the group by surprise you understood why Sukuna had decided to make sure they were aware that you had light magic as well. “…only someone with dark energy can see the mark by using a different form of Vizi, but I’m sure you all knew that already.”
“Hm…indeed…some scriptures can only be read by the purest gaze…” Hag Two’s proud voice shifted as she looked toward you. “…but dark and light energy? That cannot be. Only a select few can walk such a fine line.”
Well, bitch believe it.
“Yes…” Toji nodded with a slight grin, “…She is quite special. Show them, princess.”
“Hm.” You lift your hand to grab the light strand and let it fizzle in your hand. You did the same with your other hand so they could see the dark glow. You felt a sort of high as the elders leaned into each other as they whispered amongst themselves in awe.
“Amazing…” The grand fart complimented, “Such an odd phenomenon to have light and dark curse energy. There are not many who hold such power…when did you notice your…darker energy?”
You stopped your show of powers while shaking your head, “I never knew I had them until I met my alphas.”
The man hummed, going back to rubbing his beard in deep thought, “Would you say about three months then?”
“I… I guess so?”
“What spells do you know?”
You clicked your tongue, “Uh…a few but excuse my urgency sir I believe there are more important matters at hand. The Chi village is in dire need of assistance and the longer we wait to help I fear-“
“I heard what was said omega, and I am aware of the situation. Tell me, do you know what this curse does? How do we know it was not you who placed it on them?”
You gapped and your alphas growled. Nanami pulled you tight to his chest, while your other alphas looked ready to attack.
“Our omega is no witch.” Sukuna stated firmly while slamming his fist down upon the table.
“Settle down alphas.” Hag one chuckled as if this shit was funny. “We only ask as a precaution, how much do you really know your omega when you just received her but this past spring?”
Gojo stood, sending his chair flying backward, “Do not question our judgment, we are aware of our omega and she is no threat!”
…
The room was tense from Gojo’s angry shout, you didn’t expect such a conversation to go so south. Your heart was beating rapidly, you could feel your skin prickle with sweat. This was starting to feel more like an interrogation than a simple heroic request.
Making these people your enemies was not on your list of things to do. They were key to the progress of your holy powers. So you kept silent not knowing what your words could really do in this situation. In the fossils’ eyes, you were lower than dirt. Speaking would probably do more harm than good.
Gakuganji slid the paper of your drawing to Tweedle Dum, his tone was almost like a disapproving father, “To flash your teeth at us like so hm…this omega of yours must be something...” You watched as the other man casually rolled the paper and tucked it into his sleeve, the grand priest still speaking. “…We will send someone to the village to check on its people while we search our libraries for your symbol. I cannot say I have seen it but there may be answers within text...Now what is the other topic of discussion.”
You felt weird about this whole thing. It didn’t seem that the elder priests were reacting as urgently as you hoped. You weren’t sure if that was just the way the people of this world were or these assholes were being petty.
Or perhaps they don’t trust you now due to your dark magic. Dark energy did not make you a witch. You would think that they wouldn’t be so uptight about that considering you also had light magic. Truly you did not see any of this coming, you might have gone about this differently if you knew.
Nanami pressed on, “We seek the aid of your priestess Utahime. If you can spare her, our omega wishes to streghten her holy powers. I’m sure you are aware of what occurred in Aika. More curses could appear and it would be best if we were more prepared for the unforeseeable future.”
“Utahime is busy with her responsibilities.” Hag two was quick to deflect your request. “Perhaps we can have someone else help her.”
No… it had to be her. She was the best in her craft! You gave Nanami a little squeeze on his thigh, hoping he could sense your displeasure with the suggestion.
Sukuna was already on it, “No peasant is going to train my omega. As your prime alphas, we expect the best.”
The hag seemed appalled, “I assure you our people are the utmost-“
“Sunaniki, it is quite alright..” Yoshinobu waved his hand. “Everyone knows that Utahime Iori is the most valued omega and priestess, the prime alphas should only have the best...-“
What the fuck was that supposed to mean
“-While Utahime trains your omega we only ask that you would help around the temple.”
“We will do what we can.”
Wait- because you were still stuck on what was said because-WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?
Hot.
Boiling.
You were about to explode.
A flash of an image appeared in your mind for the quickest second. If you lingered on it for a moment longer you would have seen the very twisted idea of you screaming while choking Yoshinobu with his own beard.
A lovely sight indeed but you could not live in that fantasy or else you might make it a reality.
Dissociating was key to not leaping at the elders and clawing at their flesh. You zoned out, eyes going distant. You did your best to simmer the growing heat from inside. It was almost scary how your anger felt like a sentient being. Your dark energy tickling your skin wanting to be unleashed. Like the waves were crashing against you harder and harder. Pushing you to let loose. Cold upon your skin- hot within the flesh. If you would just… let it out… it probably wouldn’t burn so much.
Words were passed… conversations began and ended. Chuckles were tossed around carelessly. Somewhere within all of this, you bowed, and wretched the corner of your lips upward.
Then you were being escorted out of the sunroom and to your room.
You still didn’t feel like you were able to breathe.
You barely even spoke, because no one spoke to you.
Not until you were brought to the guest nest.
The betas had pushed open the door and allowed you to walk in but you stopped midway when you heard a soft chirp that sounded close to a whimper. Your eyebrows furrowed slightly as you realized your alphas had yet to leave you be.
“What’s up?” You questioned them with a casual raised brow.
They looked a bit concerned, and you soon realized why. They had no problems calling your name or saying anything to get your attention but they were so nervous to even say anything to you. They must have realized you were not in a good mood.
How could they not?
But what could they really do?
“Are you okay?” Nanami questioned first. You saw the way his face twitched ever so slightly as if pained. He regretted even asking such a silly question because he knew the truth.
Gojo stepped forward before you could even process the question, “Listen if those old far-“
“Ch-…” Toji made a sharp noise silencing Gojo into a muttering pout.
Sukuna looked toward the betas that had brought you to the room and flicked his head, “You may leave now.”
The betas dipped into a bow and shuffled away softly.
You breathed deeply, giving yourself until the betas disappeared. Once they rounded the corner you released your breath and answered your alphas. “I am alright…just a little annoyed right now.”
“I second that.” Getou spoke with restrained disdain.
“Yes…” Your blonde nodded, “I apologize for not being better prepared. I had never had to deal with… such behavior in the past.” You noticed how he spoke softer when he had spoken indirectly about the elders.
As much as you wanted to scream and raise your pitchfork, you didn’t know if someone could be listening. With how your alphas are behaving you could see that being a possibility.
So you plastered on the act that you knew your alphas saw right through. “Yes, it must have been my attitude that caused such hiccups, for I too did not see this coming.” In translation- this was not in the book(game). You knew your intelligent blonde could put two and two together and figure out the only noncommon denominator here. You. “Sorry… for causing trouble.”
“You…” Nanami shut his lips, humming softly. You heard the words he conveyed with his soft gaze. ‘You didn’t do anything wrong.’
Gojo was about to flip a second time, “The fuck you-“
“Ch-“ Toji made the noise again this time chopping Gojo in his neck making him release a loud-
“AH! What was that for?!”
You poor himbo really didn’t know the meaning of reading between the lines. Little did he know…
You were most certainly not sorry.
Far from it actually.
The elders can go suck a- hm….
Right now you might as well be in enemy territory. The disciplines of this holy ground would turn on all of you within a snap of that old man’s bones. Prime alphas or not they would do anything their leader said and you’d have no doubt he would sacrifice them all… probably screaming something about the ‘greater good’. Convince them all it was for a righteous cause.
You will avoid the elders and just focus on bettering your light magic as quickly as possible. This was a problem for another time but not right now.
“I will be sure to behave…like a proper prime omega.”
You will play nice until you get what you want and yippee ki-yay your ass out of here.

Chef Note: Have you ever had a story that just completely derailed your entire existence and you have no way of explaining it?
Yeah, that’s how I felt about mouthwashing.
I don’t know what it is but something about its story has truly set into my soul and I have no way of explaining it.
I know that sounds silly but yeah I think sometimes I can become emotionally consumed by things. That’s why I had to stop watching the news 🥲.
Anyway, this time has been quite busy for me just when I thought I had a breather, dammit I shouldn’t have said anything lol. I hope you all are doing well 🖤!
