House of Alphas Chapter 84: The Woman With The Master Plan (Patreon)

“You want to capture the beta?” Nanami reiterated.
“Yeah, weren’t you just saying you were feeling guilty?” Sukuna added.
“What on earth did I miss…” Toji mumbled.
You point to each alpha as you answer their questions, “Yes- I said I wasn’t sure what I was feeling- not much I just came up with a plan! I just need to know if you guys are alright with it?”
“Why capture him? Why not just kill him.” Getou waved his hand casually.
“No- he holds a lot of valuable information. He is the son of someone I know.” You look pointedly at the other three who weren’t part of the conversation earlier but if they didn’t get it then you will fill them in later. “Go on ask all your questions I'm ready.”
Your alphas snorted before Gojo pointed to Yuta, “Well we don’t even know if he’s on board with that plan…I mean-” He looks toward the alpha as he says, “-this guy did poison you, I'm sure you'd want to poke him with your sword and Rika wants to eat his flesh.”
“Or shake him around.” Getou added with a little upturn of his nose.
“Oh, that beta…” Yuta nodded now understanding.
“Yes…” You realized this might be tough since Choso did try to kill him, “Yuta I know I’m asking-“
“I’m fine with it.” Yuta shrug.
-What the- “Realy? Just like that?”
Yuta gave you a shy grin as he rubbed the back of his head, “I did say anything you wanted. You saved my family's lives… and mine. Like I said, I owe you big time.”
You were flabbergasted by the alpha's attitude. He was much too kind and trusting for his own good. Dammit Yuta- you sweet ball of sunshine- this is how you got in this situation IN THE FIRST PLACE- Pushing that thought to the side, you looked toward your council of alphas.
“I don’t have a problem with it. Do you know where he is?” Toji questioned.
“In the Eternal City.” You answer fluidly ready for the next question like you stood in a press conference.
“Ooo~” Yuta hissed, “I won’t be able to go… not without Rika…she doesn't like how it feels in there.”
You paused but then waved the worry away, “That’s…not too bad, I think we can handle the alphas ourselves and you can just nab Choso on his way out.”
Getou raised a brow, “And How, do you plan on taking care of the alphas?”
Gojo got excited, “Are we going with my plan? The PP- stands for Poison plan btw- that also means by the way.”
“Oooh~.” Yuta nodded.
“Okay, now you are just making stuff up.” Sukuna’s annoyance was quite evident. “Don’t listen to this guy if you know what's good for you. You should listen to me.”
Gojo gasped, “I am a great role model!”
You don't know how Yuta had become so infatuated with Gojo like he held the keys to success and he was passing on all his wisdom to him but you weren't sure who would be worse as a role model. Sukuna or Gojo.
Perhaps you should be worried, but anyway- “Back to the plan guys. We aren't going to use poison because they can just sniff it out like Toji said. We will use candy.”
“Love it let’s go-“
“Not that candy- the mana and stamina candy”
“Aw, man-“ Gojo made a face, “Those are the worse, they taste like shit…”
“I know my alpha, but it will give us the boost we need to fuck shit up.”
“I do like fucking shit up…”
“You do.” Getou agreed with the white-haired alpha.
“Alright, I’m in.” Sukuna said- he too liked to fuck shit up-
You noticed all your alphas seemed fine with this now. Maybe you should have started with that first.
You noticed Nanami seemed a little quiet. So you made sure you double-checked with him. “Nanami?”
“Hm? Oh yes sounds lovely.” He nodded.
Your eyebrows scrunch up in slight worry. “Are you sure? I don't want you just saying yes to say yes.”
Toji chuckled, “He just can’t wait to get his money back.”
Nanami had a moment of embarrassment before correcting his expression, “What uh-this is a triumphant plan little bird. If we just so happen to retrieve my money then that is just a bonus.”
“Uhuh.” Your alphas teased the blonde who tried to deny their claim as best as a lying but truthful man could.
You looked toward the other alpha who seemed to chuckle at your group's bantering. “Yuta will you be alright with getting Choso… that's the name of the beta… if he didn't tell you.”
“Yeah, I won't be tricked this time.” There was a shift within Yuta’s eyes. A scary one that gave you the shivers but it was gone before you could really feel the fear settle in.
“Don’t kill him please…”
Yuta seemed almost taken aback by your statement like he was surprised you'd even felt the need to say that, “I won’t. We are just going to capture him. I won’t fail you, commander.”
You smile a bit as you say, “Good, let’s get packed! Then we got some shit to fuck up.”
“Yes, that sounds very fetch.”
Your face palmed, “GOJO!”
~
You felt like you had a clearer mind now.
You now realize that you didn’t feel guilty…not completely…You did what you had to do to save your alphas. But now you realize your mixed emotions were due to uncertainty.
Unsure of letting Choso go.
Unsure of who you thought Raven was.
Unsure of the story you knew.
But you are sure you want to capture Choso. So that way you could be sure of his well-being.
If he leaves he might die on his way home, and if he doesn’t then he will tell Mahito and Kenjaku that he failed his mission in killing Yuta.
What if that gets him killed?
Kenjaku was a very straightforward villain. He wasn't even a villain you could somewhat understand. There was no sad backstory with sad Naruto music playing.
He only put himself first. He had no loyalties but to himself. He betrays even Mahito in the end after he has exhausted his use. Who’s to say he wouldn’t or hadn’t done that to his son?
Kenjaku doesn’t even speak about having a son. Not one breath of- ‘my boy~’ or anything along those lines. Not even when he dies! Nope, nada- like his son didn’t even exist.
Who’s to say he has more children?!
You don’t even know what omega Kenjaku had mated with. He doesn’t speak of a mate.
It’s clear that Kenjaku doesn't give two shits about anything.
The man was a pure shit stain and you did not like the idea of Choso and Raven working with that asshole.
Mahito?
Yeah, you expected Mahito to join that type of crowd he’s a dickwad too but Choso and Raven didn’t seem to fit the bill.
Raven may have been an annoying typical rival in the omega house but she didn’t start going crazy until she was taken by Mahito. And the longer she was with him the more insane she had become. You couldn’t imagine what they had done to her and how Choso could have sat idly by to watch her spiral out of control.
Not to mention for her to die to Sukuna and he didn't make an effort to stop it or take revenge?
By the way, Choso spoke, it sounded ludicrous to think he allowed any of that to happen without a peep.
The only other plausible explanation is that Choso is lying about being Kenjaku’s son and his so-called feelings for Raven, but you don't feel like he is. His emotions seemed too raw to be fake.
Choso chose to save Raven and abandon his mission for her. And he did it as soon as he realized that you- or she would die. He willingly gave you the cure for Yuta- a strong alpha witch that you are sure was a huge pawn for the villains to take out.
Choso will never have that sort of opportunity again.
If you were a villain you would be shitting bricks if Yuta and Rika were the opponent in your way.
Hell, you almost dropped just on your way to Rika!
This character walking with your pack and talking so casually to your alphas was no one to scoff at. As sweet and innocent as he looked he was strong. You couldn't sense it but something just told you he was. Perhaps the way he carried himself. He didn't push his scent out, he wasn't afraid of your alphas, he was calm, cool, and collected. His only weakness was being too trusting, or perhaps too focused on saving his omega to see that he was being tricked.
Either way, this situation feels heavy. You just got two characters that, did not appear in the story. That made them important.
You just hopped Choso doesn’t turn on you once you try to talk to him again. How could you get him on your side? Do you continue to pretend to be Raven who had lost her memories? That seemed to be the best even if it is lying. This was for a greater cause-
Right?-
“Miss Raven?” Yuta broke your deep thinking.
“Yes?” You looked toward the alpha, showing him he had your full attention.
“Sorry to bother you, but we noticed that you had pretty strong shadow energy and light energy.”
“I do.” You offer him a little grin, liking how he linked him and Rika together when he spoke. “And please, you don't have to be so formal.”
“Oh, sorry-uh well-within my research so far, I have found that a long time ago there was a mage with immense powers. They were able to work many miracles.”
“Really?” You were quite intrigued now. “How immense are we talking?”
“Upon Angel and Yuki’s level.”
“So pretty immense.” Gojo spoke over his shoulder.
“Yes…” Yuta nodded. “…This mage created this book and cast amazing spells. It is why I was within the catacombs. I was looking for it. With it, I believe, we can save Rika and the others.”
“That’s amazing!” Just as you suspected, Yuta could very much be the last ingredient to save Junpei! “Do you have any other leads? I would love to help if I can.”
“I actually, wanted to talk to you about that…I don't necessarily need help retrieving the book, I have more areas to check off my list, but I might need you to read it. Only one who withholds the power of light and dark can read it.”
“Woah…I don’t think my powers are… that immense.”
“Probably, not now, but I'm sure you could reach that level.-”
“She can.” Sukuna said without even looking.
You release a tiny snort, looking at Sukuna’s back with a little smile. “I guess it wouldn't hurt to try. I'll be sure to work hard to reach that level.”
Whatever level that is!
“Yes, Gojo said you were amazing. In all fields but he said especially within the ne-”
“Okay~!” Gojo shouted in a high-pitched voice, “We are here people look alive!”
You weren't sure what Yuta was about to say but your mind shifted to your new mission.
“Good luck in there- oh and take these, I have a little extra.” Yuta used a spell to create a purple circle with intricate symbols. He then reached into it and pulled out a handful of candies.
Oh, so that's how he carries his stuff around.
“Thank you.” Your pack thanked the alpha and then shifted onward.
You spoke softly as you got closer, going over your plan one last time, “We will get our usual room, and then I will seek out the beta and Uraume. I want to get as many omegas and betas out of the way.”
“We can have them come to our room. I'll let my informant know.”
“Thank you Getou. Be sure to use your candies only when it's time to fight. There's no telling how quickly we will eat through our stash.”
“That’s if they work.” Nanami spoke up, “Let’s test it out first before we get too hasty.”
“Okay, good idea.” You were getting a bit ahead of yourself there. It was nice to have a smartie blonde to keep you in check.
Walking into the Eternal City wasn't as nerve-wracking as when you first entered. You went through the usual security and got the usual glares from the patrons.
Reggie Star practically ran out as soon as he got news you were there. As he babbled, you saw Uraume bustling the tables, their surprised gaze looked toward you but quickly averted.
You will have to talk to them later. As you moved through the crowd you didn't feel a hint of fear.
You realize that these alphas weren't nearly as scary as Rika. You almost scoffed at the idea that you still had to keep your head down for now. These slugs weren't anything. You had reached the milestone of the toughest boss in the game and the next ones would be Mahito and Kenjaku. The other bosses weren’t too hard, especially since they had typical Pokemon weaknesses and strengths. Water beats fire- fire beats grass- grass beats water- however, thunder is much more effective for water.
No matter what, you plan to be geared to your teeth after Treasure Islands.
You could hear Toji breathing deeply as you walked the corridor. When he passed a door he tapped you. You glanced at the number- room 152. He wasn’t too far from your room.
Once you got to lovely room 200 your team wasted no time.
Sukuna was the first to try the candy. He flicked it into his mouth and then snapped his fingers; a flame sprang on his thumb.
“Sweet it works.” Gojo grinned with excitement.
“Let’s see how long it lasts.” Sukuna kept the flame going for a good five minutes before it started to waver and finally diminish.
“Five minutes.”
“How long were you talking to the beta?” Getou asked.
“I can’t say…” you weren't counting the seconds within that time, too much was going on. Seconds felt like hours.
“It was about five minutes.” Nanami answered.
“So we got five minutes before we run out?”
You shake your head, “Not necessarily…Every spell takes various mana or stamina. So we must be conservative of our moves and make sure they hit our target.” if you could remember how much each move cost then you could confidently tell them. However, the cost fluctuates as the levels increase. It would be damn near impossible to get such a precise number.
“We each have five candies so that's at least twenty-five minutes. I can kill them under that time.”
“Did you not count that one you ate? You have four now.” Getou pointed out.
“Give me one of yours.”
“No-”
“Take one of mine- actually take all of them.” Gojo tried to hand his candy away but you stepped in before he could-
“No Gojo, keep your candy. Sukuna you can take one of mine… Now that we know it works let's get this party started as soon as we can, Kobeq needs us. I’ll go speak to Choso and you guys… have to tell the omegas and betas you require…” You paused pressing your lips tightly together before swiftly uttering out, “…their services…”
Toji made a face, “Ah~ baby don't make that face, you know we won’t touch them-”
“I know! I know! I just- you know what- it’s just for the plan I'm not upset or anything it’s fine-I'm fine everything is fine-”
“I’ll just tell them our omega likes to have an audience.” Sukuna stuck out his tongue as Getou chuckled.
“I like that~ I’ll go with that one too.”
You gasp, “You- you guys- you know what I don't care what you say- just- let’s just get this shit over with!” You were trying desperately to hide your embarrassment. How could you feel such jealousy for a simple lie?
“Alright alright, but I'm not letting you go to that beta unsupervised-”
“Toji you can’t-”
“I know I can’t come in, but I’ll be right around the corner. Just in case. Don’t give me that look- it's the only way for me to feel better about this.”
“It’s the only way for all of us to feel better. You either have him stand guard or you don't go in at all.”
You could see that they all showed hints of agreeing with Sukuna’s words. Well, you were not going to fight them on this. You liked to pick and choose your battles.
“Yes sir-”
“And make sure you make it quick, you can talk more with him once we have you safe.”
“Ok-”
“And eat a candy before you go in, just in case you have to blast him-”
You almost wanted to roll your eyes but you allowed your alphas to continue to lay out all their conditions.
~
You stood before the room that Choso resided in. You couldn’t smell his scent but Toji’s nose wasn’t any regular nose. You trust that this was the right room.
Room 152…got it…
You looked toward your big alpha who had given you a nod before slipping around the corner. You then proceeded to slip a candy into your mouth before knocking on the door with an urgent tap.
The door opened a crack, “Can I help you?” Choso spoke with a raised brow.
“They didn't see me.” You whispered to him with a little nervous smile.
The beta swiftly let you in and then closed the door behind you.
“Did you… get your memories back?” He questioned with a hint of excitement.
You shook your head, “No…not yet. The alpha witch said he had to speak with someone higher than him to learn the spell.”
Choso looked pained by this news, “Shit…”
“What…?”
“That may not be possible…”
Did he know about G.Ma and Kenjaku’s plan to kill her and her adopted children? If so it sounded like he believes G.Ma is dead.
“Why is that?” You questioned with a little tilt of your head.
“Did he say a name?”
Well, let’s test that thought- “I… think he said his grandma?”
“Yeah…” Choso’s brows pinched, “…by this time she's probably long dead.”
“Did… you kill her?”
“No…not me.”
You wanted to ask who but you already knew it had to be Kenjaku. So you ask something else that was nagging your mind.
“Why…were you trying to kill Yuta? He seems like a good guy…did he do something to you…to us? Should I be afraid of him?” you mentally strangled yourself because you knew what your alphas said- in and out no questions till later! But curse your curiosity!
“It was a mission given to me…I’m not sure what that alpha had done but Father wanted him gone. He must have a good reason.”
“…Oh, so does this mean… I won’t be able to get my memories back?” you shifted your tone trying to sound sorrowful for this news- that you knew wasn't true.
“No-no-” Choso tried to comfort you, “Like I said, I can figure out a way to do it. I’ll ask my father.”
“He won't be angry, right? Ken- your father? He won't... Do anything to you…because of your mission?”
“No… he will understand. It was to keep you safe.”
Raven or not Raven, Kenjaku never gave two shits. That had to be obvious enough. You could do nothing to stop your deep frown, “He doesn't care about me Choso…I don't think he will understand…”
“Then I will make him.”
“…” You felt saddened by Choso’s words. His feelings for Raven must have gotten him into trouble. You just don’t know what kind. But possibly death. With how he's speaking now you know he would have tried to protect her. Maybe that's why Raven went crazy. She lost the only true person who cared.
“…I see… you still worry just as much now as you did then...” Choso offered you a little smile, “…it’s good to know you haven’t truly changed.”
That statement threw you off. You had known Raven could be a bitch but hearing that she was kind and worried about Choso made your heart constrict.
You suddenly felt it was now your duty to save him. If not for you then for Raven.
“That’s good to hear…” You speak softly as you offer him your hand, so that he may give you the link.
He did so with a gentle touch.
“I will fix this…I won’t stop until I do.”
“Ok.” You nod, feeling a tingle of guilt wash over you. “…You should leave though… quickly- no!” Choso tried to hug you but you stopped him. -”Sorry-Last time the alphas got mad about your scent on me.”
Choso blushed, “No that’s… that’s my fault, it’s hard for me- my scent has always been extremely potent.”
“Yes very much so. It almost sent my alphas into a frenzy. Are you sure you are a beta?” You let out a little laugh as Choso gave you an awkward smile.
“I am…I just have some alpha habits that get me in a lot of trouble…Link with me as soon as you can, but don't get caught I don't want you to get into trouble-”
-“RAVEN!?” you heard Toji’s loud voice echoing down the hall.
That translated to get your ass out here before I kick this door down.
“Oh- I must go-”
“If he hurts you- I swear.” Choso growled low.
You wanted to bust up laughing as you imagined both Choso and Toji shouting at each other over the thought of the other hurting you.
Would it put his mind at ease if you said the alphas were kind to you?
You wondered. Already in motion to test the waters.
“He wouldn’t… Believe it or not…They all take great care of me Choso.”
The beta looked worried, “Even …Sukuna- you aren't scared of him anymore?”
“Anymore? Was I scared of him before?”
-“Raven!?”
“Go! We will talk later.” Choso pushed you out the door as you hurried along.
Just as the door shut Toji ‘rounded the corner’.
“There you are, where have you been missy?”
“I was just a little hungry- can we go to the kitchen to get something to eat?” Your fake conversation continued as you moved away from Choso’s room.
Then your real conversation started.
“What happened to in and out?” He whispered.
“He caught me off guard- no he didn’t hurt me but he asked me if I was still scared of Sukuna. Like Raven used to be afraid of him. Don’t you think that’s strange?” You whispered back.
“Mm… sounds normal- He is a pretty scary guy, most people do fear him.”
“Yeah I know…perhaps you’re right.”
