House of Alphas Chapter 89: After The Rain (Patreon)
Content
As the omegas washed you, you felt as though you were starting to feel… just a little lighter.
You watched the water turn colors, running with murky red… but soon it became clearer as time passed and the river flowed.
You didn’t speak much as your washers chattered to you and each other. They were excited… excited to go home…some of them just happy to be alive. They spoke about what they wanted to do… or the first thing they wanted to eat.
Things they missed…
You listened to them quietly, enjoying their sounds of joy until-
“Ah!”
You were under attack!
You heard someone scream, and the noise made you jump up with your hands at the ready- but you soon realized that the screaming was just silly water fun.
"Raven? Are you okay?"
"Ah- Yes, sorry about that..." You quickly dismissed your magic as you sat back in the water, watching the others splash around. Their laughter seemed to help even the shy ones come out of their shell. Hints of smiles on their lips.
With the setting sun glistening on the blue water, it felt like a warm summer day.
Your gaze tried to avoid the many marks that covered their bodies… some more than others… yet here they were able to laugh and enjoy life again… when it was once so grim.
Maybe Getou was right… There was still something to celebrate here. Even though you couldn’t save them all, you still changed lives.
You should be proud of yourself…
"Ai-" You squeaked as water splashed upon you. You had been caught in the crossfire.
Everyone stopped and gasped.
Eyes going wide.
The omega boy at fault looked frightened, “Oops- I’m so s-sorry prime omega-please forgive me!” He cried out as he bowed his head. His hands were clasped so tightly in front of his chest as he looked on the verge of tears.
You released a playful growl, “Oh, you are going to pay for that!” Splashing the boy back caused the tension to unwind. Everyone began to laugh again as the water-bending battle continued.
~
Toji sat high up in a tree, watching you play with the others. He released a light sigh, seeing you smile again… though he noticed it didn’t seem to touch your eyes as much... Your laughter also didn’t have that ring to it like it usually does... Still… this was something… a step in the right direction.
They weren’t sure where your mental state was going to tip. The amount of distress you were in was enough to make any omega drop, and yet you accepted the pain and held it tight.
Coming out from the other side... seeming almost different.
Though he wasn't sure how this was going to affect you going forward.
It was scary to watch.
It reminded him of himself when he went through his dark time, but you had truly helped him. Being with you made him not think about his terrible past and trauma…
He didn’t want you to go through pain.
He didn't like seeing you in pain.
If he could protect you from it all, he would. He was fine with bloodying his hands so you wouldn’t have to… he was alright with that…but he didn’t do a good job… and now you were here...disappointed in yourself for not killing that alpha.
And now you were with pain, scarring your heart.
He didn’t want this to change you, change who you were. But he was at a loss for what he should have done.
Should he have pushed you more so you could have been better prepared? Did he give up too easily? Should he have never taken the blood from your hands? He wasn't sure what he had done, but he felt as though he had failed.
Failed as your alpha and your protector.
He should have...done something...but he's not sure what.
And that scared him even more.
What if he can't protect you from everything?
What if...
“Aye.” Sukuna called to him, standing at the base of the tree he was in.
“Sukuna...Look.” He nodded his head toward you.
The other alpha didn’t even move his head, “I saw.”
“Her laugh sounds a little different, doesn’t it?”
“She’s hurting.”
“Yeah…I know…”
“Give her time.”
“…”
“…Come help me hunt. We gotta feed the princess and her friends.”
“Do you ever think… it would have been better for her to go back to her world? Do you think ours is too much for her?”
“Don’t fucking say shit you don’t mean.”
Toji jumped down with an irritated growl, “I didn’t say I wanted her to go back- I’m just saying what if it would be better for her?”
“No- we can’t protect her there.”
“Sukuna, we can protect her physically, but mentally, is a whole other story. She knew that omega for less than ten minutes, and you would have thought she lost a pup of her own!”
“Tch- I’m aware, she’s weird. That just means we need to do better- HEY WHERE THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE GOING?!” Sukuna yelled as one of the betas squeaked at his shouting.
They were walking in the opposite direction from camp.
“Uh-p-prime alpha I was just going to the bathroom-“
“YOU KNOW WHERE WE MARKED THE BATHROOM! THIS AREA IS UNSAFE!”
“It-it was occupied-“
“So then you have chosen death?!
“N-no-“
“THEN FUCKING HOLD IT AND WAIT!”
With that, the beta apologized while running back toward the others.
Toji watched the interaction with an unblinking stare.
“See?” Sukuna pointed, “We just have to make sure anything she attaches herself to doesn’t get themselves killed, fucking easy. We just gotta treat them like our pack.”
“Heh- if you say so. Is that why you are trying to feed them?”
“I don’t want to feed them, but I try to think like her…which is the opposite of what I would do.”
“Yes, I don’t think she would have liked the way you yelled at that beta.” Toji stated with an eyebrow raised.
“I’m keeping them safe the best way I know how!” Sukuna rolled his eyes, knowing that Toji was right. You would have been displeased with his shouting but you’d have to suck it up- this was him protecting you, by protecting them.
“Of course, I understand you have nothing to prove to me, Ryoumen.” Toji chuckled.
“Besides,” Sukuna continued with his point, “She’s strong…and better with us. We can protect her…so don’t talk about that stupid shit again. Be a better daddy for your princess.”
“You’re right, we need to protect your Lu Marcie-“
"..."
"..."
“Shut the fuck up.”
~
~
“You should have seen her!” One of the omegas spoke as you all walked back to camp. You believe the omega’s name was Ika.
You did your best to remember all of their names, but there were quite a lot of them.
“Yeah-“ The omega boy named Sago, boasted on your behalf, “-she controlled those alphas like it was nothing.”
“Ah~” Kanjé whined, “I missed it! I was in the room still!”
Some of the others were not lucky enough to see you in all your powerful queen form.
“Our prime omega was so cool- like an omega alpha!”
“She was like- ‘go fetch me water!’” Sago pointed with an upturn of his nose and a hand on his hip.
“And they did!”
“They were like fighting to get it for her!”
You released a laugh at their interpretation of how you asked for water from Gojo, which ended up with a fight for it. Though it was a bit exaggerated, you didn’t mind. “My alphas would do anything for me…” You say, feeling as though you were repeating the same conversation you had with Six. It was sad that this was a recurring topic... “…A true alpha should not treat you like objects… your opinions… and feelings should be just as important as theirs. They should want to please you and make you happy. Of course, we still have our hardships, that will come with any pack…but being able to understand and listen to each other helps a lot…” As you spoke, you noticed that their eyes seemed to sparkle in awe, as if you were a celebrity giving words of wisdom to your entourage.
“Wow… I hope I can find an alpha like that…”
“I hope my next pack doesn’t sell me…” Someone else spoke solemnly.
You turned to look at the older beta. Their name was Tal, and due to them being older, their people had felt they had run out of their use… therefore selling them… You give them a pained expression, “Tal…I’m so sorry that happened…but that doesn’t sound like a pack at all. Your pack should do everything they can for each other…and no one should get left behind... or mistreated. You should care for one another and treat each other with the same love and respect as you would want for yourself. I will speak to my alphas, and I’ll see if we can find a place for you.”
“Uh- would there be room for me as well?” Kanjé questioned. “I know I’m just an omega, but… I can try to be useful!”
This comment soon had others wondering if they, too, could be placed in a similar space. You were surprised to find that even the ones who had just been talking about their homes would rather leave. The situation in this world was terrible.
“I will see what we can do.” That was all you could say for now, but that filled them with hope.
You weren’t sure how it would be possible to house all the omegas and betas. You thought perhaps you could send them to Mei Mei, but then that meant she’d try to sell them off. You didn’t want that for any of them. Mei Mei didn’t even have the best interest of the prime omegas, so you doubt she’d care much about people she deemed worthless. She’d ship them off for money, not caring who took them.
The holy palace was also a hell no.
You didn't want them there when you were ready to slaughter the crusty, dusty priests.
Even if you didn't have that plan, you wouldn't want the omegas to be treated so lowly. Even though they most likely wouldn’t mind considering where they come from, you still didn’t want that for them.
They deserve better.
You just didn’t know exactly how to give them that. You can't take them with you to Kobeq, there were too many of them to watch out for. However, you can't take them home because you don't have enough time to do so.
You listened to the others' chatter as you pondered this decision.
Walking into camp, you found Uraume and a few others setting up to cook.
Gojo and Getou were telling a story loud enough for everyone in the camp to hear. They all listened in their own spots, but the ones that really wanted to hear the tale were front and center, sitting before your alphas as they put on a mini show. By what you caught, it sounded like they were reenacting Star Wars.
Your dadager walked around with a leather book, going to each person as he marked them down.
You didn’t see Sukuna and Toji, but you could only assume they were hunting.
Yuta sat by Choso, listening to the story with his chin in his hands. He looked adorable while listening.
Just as you looked at the boy at the corner of your eye, you caught Choso looking at you. The sudden connection made you drop your gaze.
You weren’t ready for him… not yet.
You had gone through so much mentally that you didn’t even know if you had the energy to have a productive conversation. You had to be sharp with what you said and critical of anything that he would say to you. Most importantly, you had to decide on how you were going to approach him.
Shall you pretend that your alphas wanted to capture him due to his scent in the room? Or perhaps it was by coincidence that Yuta got him-no- then that would leave open the idea of why Yuta was with your pack.
It was clear that you all were working together.
Maybe you can say it was you who begged them not to kill him- which wouldn’t be far from the truth. You liked going for lies that were woven with truth, it helped everything blend. He didn’t need to know that it was you personally who wanted him captured.
He didn’t need to know you were the head of the operation.
You were just a sweet, innocent omega who had lost her memories…
Nothing suspicious at all…
"Sweetheart?" You looked up to see Nanami before you, writing in his book. "Did you enjoy your bath?" When he finished speaking, he didn’t look up from what he was doing.
"Yes, I did...They did a wonderful job." You turned to give an appreciative bow to your companions as they bowed and began to merge into the camp with the others.
"Let us know if you need anything else!"
"Yes, anything you need prime omega!"
You could hear the sincerity in their voices; their appreciation for you was nothing they feared to show.
"Of course." You said, but you knew you weren't going to bother them. They weren't servants, and you weren't going to treat them as such. You only allowed them to bathe you because it seemed it was something they really wanted to do.
You noticed Nanami was still writing in the book, it would appear he did not hear what you had said, too deep into what he was doing. "It was good." You repeat again as you get a bit closer to look into the pages, but Nanami shifts, closing the book before you can see inside.
"That's good." He continued smoothly, like he wasn't hiding the contents. "I have spoken to the others...some would like to return home, the others don't seem to have a home or want to go back." As he spoke, he slid his free hand upon your hip while bringing you under the shade where your nest was set out with the cover drawn back so you could sit comfortably in your spot but still see everything.
You knew Nanami was hiding something from you, but you didn't point it out, "Yes…I was going to ask you about that…well, I'm not sure what we can do about the ones that have nowhere to go...I was hoping we could get them to a safe place...I know most people would normally seek shelter within the holy tower...But I don’t want to do that, and we can’t send them to Mei Mei or anyone who would just see them as a profit…”
Nanami nodded, "I've already considered that and came up with a solution. For the time being, they can stay in the guest palace until we can find a home for them."
"The guest palace?" You questioned almost in surprise. Usually, that was a place for royalties who come to visit the city to spend top dollar...it was an expensive ass palace…of course, you knew about it but you didn't truly think about it as a solution. "You would allow them to stay there?"
Nanami released a low chuckle, "We should have no one special visiting until September…during this time, they can stay while we look for other solutions. I’ve already sent word to the guards back at home. They will be traveling this way to escort them back so we can focus on our other mission.”
"Wow..." You smiled, feeling as though your blonde had just lifted every weight on your shoulders. "That-that’s perfect…thank you so much, Nanami."
You noticed how Nanami seemed to be drawn by your smile, his eyes seemingly brightening up.
You felt a bit shy of the attention, especially since it seemed to cause your alpha to fall mute for a second.
You brushed nonexistent hair out of your face as you said, "Is there something wrong, my alpha?"
You knew there wasn't, and you knew what it was, but that was what you said because you didn't know what else to say. And now you might feel a little silly for asking a question you already knew the answer to.
"No." Nanami shook his head, "Not at all. I just didn't realize how much I love your smile..." He said it in such a way that made you tingle. He sounded as if he were appreciating your smile even more. Like he was afraid he’d never see it again in all its beauty.
These damn obsessive alphas always find a way to make you feel so cherished in the wildest ways. They actually loved to see you happy, and that was something that surprised you. Because it was so…raw and genuine. Your happiness made them happy, and your sadness caused them pain. Even though they did everything they could… and didn’t do anything wrong…they would not let this event rest. That’s what you loved about them. They didn't completely understand the situation, but they still hurt because you hurt.
Your romantic kink was coming back in full swing, hitting you right in the stomach.
A giggle fell from your lips as you placed your hand upon your alpha's chest, dragging it upward to cup his chin. “You really are the best alpha…”
A soft pur left Nanami’s chest as he pulled you close and captured your lips. The kiss was much more than a peck- it was needy and sweet at the same time. Your eyes were closed, and you had forgotten about the world, wrapping your arms around your alpha's neck as you let a moan slip from you.
That’s when you heard a few giggles and a- “You think we will get that show we were promised?”
You gasped, pulling away from Nanami, “Sorry.” You uttered out without even thinking. What the fuck were you sorry for?
“Don’t be sorry…” Nanami cleared his throat as he tried to secretly readjust himself. “…You and I both know I would be more than pleased to take you right here and now.”
“I know, you dang fiend.” You joke playfully.
Nanami paused before he let out a little snort as if he had just thought of something funny.
“What?” You question with a little smile, wondering what it was.
“Nothing, my darling, I must return to my task, though. Please…” He picked up your hand and then kissed it like a gentleman, “…Sit. Relax. Enjoy the show…and the food will be ready soon. I’ll take care of everything else.”
You liked the sound of that.
“Yes, sir.” With your hand still within his, you sit in your cozy half-nest. You released a contented sigh as you watched your blonde go. You could only admire him as you leaned into the pillows, watching him move with such grace. He was such an alpha. A real one. Not a stupid alpha that spews nonsense, but the kind of alpha you’d follow without question because you knew he knew what he was doing. And he was doing a damn good job. While you ogled your handsome man, you realized why he closed the book before you could see it. He was probably doing it so you didn't see how many lives have truly died down there over the years. Given how gigantic the book is, there was no way the people you saved here even took up a quarter of it. That damn man always trying to protect you.
All of them tried in any way they could.
Even your silly alphas, who were entertaining everyone, and your other alphas, who were seeking to feed the flock.
Damn, you were so lucky to have them. You started tearing up at the idea, but then you looked toward Gojo and Getou, who were fighting each other with things that looked like makeshift lightsabers. You raised a brow as they moved like they were pirates. One arm was up in the air while the other stabbed and swung. What the hell were they doing? That is not how a Jedi fights, but you supposed you never really showed them when you told the story.
“Ah~!” Gojo yelled as he fell to the floor with his hand looking like it was ‘cut off’
“LUCAS! Join me and you can find out what happened to your father!” Getou spoke with a black cloak around him and a mask on.
Who the hell was Lucas?!
“I know what happened to my father! You killed him!”
“No- I am your father!”
The crowd gasped in shock.
“NOOOOOO~!” Gojo yelled.
You laughed to yourself, finding them to be funny, but everyone else watched in all seriousness. Their acting skills were top-tier. You just don’t know how they got Luke and Lucas's names mixed up, but the show must go on, and there was no point in correcting them now.
Toji and Sukuna returned to camp once the sun had fully gone down.
They too look good strutting in with meat hanging from their shoulders and under their arms. Sukuna in his true form so he could carry more.
Toji slid his hand under his shirt so that he could use it to wipe his face real quick, his abs looking quite delicious within the flick of the flames.
Sukuna’s muscles were just out and about.
You didn’t know who to look at.
Even Gojo and Getou were somehow making you squirmy.
You just love it when your alphas do things for you, even if it's for other people, which is them still doing it for you.
The whole thing made you surprisingly warm between the thighs.
‘Damn girl calm your horny- oh shite-‘ You closed your legs tight, pulling your knees to your chest as Toji and Sukuna came toward you.
“Hey, baby.” Toji flashes you a smile as he jumps down next to you, and Sukuna falls on your other side, returning to his normal form.
“Hey, daddy.” You smile sweetly when he kisses your cheek. "Sukuna." You greet the other alpha as he flicks his chin at Gojo and Getou.
“Which one are they on?”
“Uh~ They just got done with Empire Strikes Back…” You inhaled and then you held it because both of your alphas were giving off a lot of their musk. It was something they did when they surrounded the area, pushing out their fragrance so other beasts and alphas would be too afraid to come this way. It was great for protection, but right now it was not helping your horny situation.
“Oh-I missed the good part.” Toji sighed as he leaned back on a pillow with his arms behind his head.
The three of you continued to watch the show while you hoped the smell of food would cover up your unholy scent.
Toji clicked his tongue, “Hey?” He looked toward you with a furrow of his brow, as if he had just realized something.
“Hm- what?” You bite your cheek hard, TOJI YOU SNITCH-
“I thought the guy's name was Luke?”
“Hm-“ You looked surprised by his question, blinking swiftly when you realized it wasn't what you thought he was going to say, “Oh- haha yeah it is.”
“I told you Sukuna.” Toji chuckled while the other alpha rolled his eyes.
“What? I thought you said Lucas.”
“No-I said Luke- like where the hell did you guys get Lucas from?” You giggled.
“Nah, I heard Lucas- Nanami.” Sukuna said the blonde's name as he approached you.
“Hm?” Nanami knelt upon the blanket, the book now stashed away in the inventory worm.
“Didn’t she say the guy's name was Lucas?” Sukuna asked with a sense of irritation.
“No? Why do you and the other two think that? Were you even paying attention?”
“See?” You flick your brows in a way to say ‘told you so’.
"Bullshit. I swear you said Lucas." Sukuna shook his head, not at all ready to admit defeat.
"Look, you are on Gojo and Getou's side, so what does that tell you?" You saw the realization hit his face as his nose wrinkled up in disgust. You grinned, knowing you won this argument. "Ahuh."
"Maybe I heard the idiots mix it up too many times." The alpha sniffed, trying to do damage control.
Oh Sukuna you silly silly alpha.
“May I lie within your lap?” Nanami questioned as he turned to sit before you, but he didn’t fully commit to lying down just yet, awaiting your approval.
“Oh-ah yeah.. yeah sure.” What the fuck were you going to say no? Your blonde wanted to rest his weary head dammit! He deserves this- you will just have to deal with the consequences because ain’t no way he wasn’t going to smell what you have been hiding. But truthfully you didn’t really care anymore- fuck it. You felt like you were about to open a bag of treats.
Nanami lay back just as you made room for him, he slid his arm under one of your legs, and slotted himself between your thighs. Lying his head in your lap, he sighed, feeling content in his position.
You played with his hair as you looked straight ahead, acting as cool as a cucumber.

Nanami took a breath that was much too deep for just oxygen. And then his chest began to rumble as he released a growl like purr.
Welp.

Chef Note: Guys I know when the next smut chapter is cumming...
⋆⁺I try to make up very uncommon names, so I'm so sorry if any of them are yours, and it may ruin it for you Q_Q. I also try not to name too many people because of this, too. But I hope you enjoyed the meal nonetheless.
