House of Alphas Chapter 94: Bad Blood (Patreon)

You listened to the alphas talk, allowing them to take charge of the conversation.

You were busy soaking in the environment.

Miguel’s home was a massive hut surrounded by other medium-sized huts that sat out in the water.

Before crossing the bridge you all dismounted and gave your horses to the guards like some valet service.

You peered at the calm waves that slapped into the sturdy beams.

In the game, the alphas’ home is attacked by sea spirits. They caused the home to collapse into the water. Looking at the bridge it seemed pretty strong but with the knowledge you had of their shortcomings, you wondered why they thought it was a good idea to build it like this.

“Here we are!” Miguel spoke proudly as he threw open the front doors.

The main house had a large open living space right in the middle. There was a dip that had a circle of pillows and blankets around it, perfect for relaxing right before the open sea. The kitchen, where two blonde betas were cooking, and the dining room also took up the open space, with no walls separating them. Everything was just so open, and it gave you this fresh breeze. You could see the balcony out back that had stairs that led to the water. The walkway also led to the other huts that you wanted to explore but you kept your lips sealed trying to be polite and respectful.

Now that you could see the magnificent blue view with hints of palm tree leaves…you understood how someone could build their home right over waters- especially if they had no idea they were going to be attacked by sea ghosts.

You felt like you were in a fancy ass resort.

You just wanted to curl up on the couch and sip mimosas as you read your book in peace.

Toji breathed deeply, “Smells good in here!” He said in a bit of exaggerated fashion.

Perhaps earlier when he spoke about you eating he was trying to get you to stop because he was hungry. You wish he had said so. You would have told him to stop while you continued…but then again he wouldn’t like that either…well now you felt a bit bad for pushing him on. And who knows if the others were just as hungry?

“Hungry big guy?” Gojo teased and just like that Toji’s stomach made its presence known.

“Ah, perhaps…” he answered with a light blush. “I mean I could eat.”

Miguel was ecstatic, “Well you are in luck! We make the best seafood right here in Kobeq. It doesn’t get any better than this.” The alpha stated proudly, and by how it was smelling you didn’t doubt his words. “Akari, Arata, how much longer?”

“Give us about five minutes alpha!” The siblings answered together like they were in Chef Ramsey’s kitchen.

“Did you remember my special seasoning?” Miguel tried to whisper while looking over their shoulder.

“Yes alpha-“

“And how long did you cook this?” Miguel went to grab something but Akira hissed at him.

“Go alpha! We know how to cook!”

“We are perfectionists alpha, don’t worry we will blow your guest away.” Arata added while pushing the micro managing man out of the way.

“I was just checking!” Miguel exclaimed, not at all phased by how they were treating him in such an ‘informal’ manner.

You were surprised to see how laid back the alpha was with his betas. You inwardly nodded your head in approval. You loved an alpha that harboured a wholesome pack.

Akira smiled over their shoulder, “He only gets like this when he wants to impress someone so take it as a compliment.”

“Is it a crime to want the best for the prime alphas!” Miguel tried to defend himself with playfulness.

Nanami tried to ease the man’s worry, “Please don’t sweat too much. Whatever you cook is fine, however, don’t be offended by Getou, as you know he doesn’t like the food that the sea has to offer.”

Getou humphed while turning his nose up, “It’s the smell!”

“What do you mean? It smells delicious!” Toji almost sounded offended like he was the one cooking.

Getou shook his head, “It just doesn’t smell clean!”

Sukuna looked confused, “How does food smell clean?”

“Do you want them to spray it with cleaning products?” It was funny how Gojo was actually serious.

Miguel huffed, “You must get over such silliness, your palate is missing out!”

Getou finally released a frustrated growl, “You brutes just wouldn’t understand the delicacy that is me!”

“A smell person hm?” Akira took his statement as a challenge, “Ah~ I got something for you don’t worry your pretty long hair!”

“We shall see…” Getou stated while playing with his hair like a diva. He didn’t sound too convinced that he would be pleased with anything containing sea creatures.

Getou and Gojo were your pickier eaters. Getou was a fragrance and appearance person. If it looked or smelled bad he didn’t want it. While Gojo was about candy. The sweeter something was the better. If it didn’t taste like the food bathed in sugar he didn’t want it. Your other three were fine with anything, but they all could do without vegetables…except Nanami.

He was the only one who liked his veggies.

Maybe it’s a good thing they lived in a world where the pyramid food chart wasn’t as important as in yours. They would for sure perish. And Sukuna would definitely go to jail for cannibalism…

You laughed a bit with everyone else but you weren’t as talkative as usual. You were content with observing the others as they engaged socially.

Nanami had hugged you to his side so he could massage your arm gently in a comforting manner. You were sure he and your other alphas were aware of your quiet demeanor. It was easy to pinpoint when someone like you wasn’t 100%.

It wasn’t that you weren't enjoying the company…it was the fact that you felt you couldn't enjoy it.

Miguel was always a nice alpha, even within the game when you save his town from the attack… he still carried himself in good nature. But now you can see his game character was pale in comparison to who he really was. He was charismatic…smiling and laughing so much more.

But could you really be surprised by the difference? Especially considering what happened to his beta Arata?

Akari Nitta and her brother Arata Nitta were beta siblings who were a part of Miguel’s pack. Sadly Arata Nitta fell in the battle, protecting his sister. The situation was a bit brushed by, showing Akari was in tears but she thanked your team for their aid, and gave them a healing necklace that belonged to her brother and that was pretty much it. For such a small character in the story that you see maybe for one or two frames, you couldn’t help but feel sorry for her.

Especially now, seeing everyone converse so cheerfully and energetically.

They were such a happy family.

You hated how the game didn’t really dive into side characters much, but to be fair there were so many people and no way to really get into everyone’s life. By this snippet, you felt like you were well aware of who these people are, and losing such an important member could not have been easy for them.

That’s why you couldn’t settle down… Like you were just waiting for a bomb to go off…any minute now…

You would breathe deeply, trying to smell past the yummy food so you could scent out anything dangerous. At times your eyes would skitter around and then you would drag them back with a little smile as if you were still engaged in the moment.

You don’t know what you did to stop the attack from occurring, but this happiness can be wiped out within a flash.

It was just a matter of when.

You had to be ready…

You almost felt like you were watching a movie scene, with a happy reunion and happy smiling faces…all while the villains are setting up an awful surprise attack.

Where is it… the tragic explosion…when will it happen…

What are they waiting for?!

“Could I offer you some wine, Raven?”

You blinked as Miguel turned his attention to you with a more direct question. That seemed to stop the chatter.

You realized with all the soft eyes on you now, everyone must have noticed that you were feeling tense. The betas grabbed glasses with a gentle kind of movement, setting them down without much of a clink as if afraid to startle you.

You took a second too long as Nanami repeated the statement for you with a little more oomph to his arm rubbing, “Do you want some princess?”

You let out a little laugh as you looked at everyone, “I guess you guys can tell I’m still a little jittery…” you released a deep sigh as you say with a heavy tone, “…we were attacked by a Gyron on the way here…so sorry for my exhaustion.” You smile as Miguel seems to take your half-lie excuse.

“Ahh… a Gyron…that could be a scary encounter.” Miguel nodded while pouring a few glasses of Grata. “I’ll make sure to pour you double.”

“She actually fought it with us.” Nanami added with a little smile.

“Really?” Miguel sounded impressed.

“She handled it well.” Sukuna interjected.

“Yeah!” Gojo grabbed your cup and passed it to you, “Our omega is really strong, this was her second time fighting one too.”

Alright alright- you were acting shy now fighting a smile. They just loved to talk about you and your achievements. You felt like a kid when your parents would boast to the guests about you while you stood there awkwardly not knowing what to say.

“I-I couldn’t have done it without my alphas. They give me the strength that I need.” You gave a warm smile feeling a bit mushy about your words.

Miguel shook his head, “Don’t downplay your strengths, you have a strong spirit. The way your pack moves tells me that you are what holds them together.”

You were surprised by how he was able to sense such a thing with your group for just the small amount of time you had spent with him.

“She does.” Your alphas all expressed their agreement with the statement.

Stuff like this was such a compliment but it was also your stressor at the same time. A double-edged sword if you will. You were the backbone of this pack, an important functioning piece. If you go down or make a wrong decision then that’s it! The whole ship is done for. So you had to take your job very seriously.

“I thank you for keeping this one out of trouble too.” Miguel grinned while gesturing to Getou.

“He gets me into trouble.” You joke sending your alpha a little wink before taking a sip of your drink.

“It takes two to tango darling.” Getou countered, the two of you referring to your lovely night that ended in rounds of sex and an unhappy Nanami who thought you would behave.

Your moment of joking helped break the ice a bit, having everyone in a laughing fit.

“Hey…” A calm voice called, interrupting the moment. It was barely over a whisper and you wouldn’t even have known you heard it until Miguel made notice of the newcomer.

“Toshihisa! Come meet everyone! And where’s our girl?” Miguel was in happy chatter as he waved the other alpha over.

You looked to see Negi coming in with a white blouse and loose pants, his outfit matched his partner's. You noticed how the alpha didn’t have a bandage on his left eye like in the game, but he just wore the white band around his head. He had yet to get hurt in the attack, but you could still see a deep scar over his eye from overuse of his magic. Unfortunately, it hurt him when he used it too often like he had a Sharigan situation going on.

“Tigress should be here soon, she’s finishing up her makeup.” Just as he was about to step into the living room Negi looked back and offered his hand to someone. “There she is.” He smiled as he grabbed Tigress’ hand.

She was dressed in a pretty flowing beach dress that split on the sides to show off her toned legs.

It took you by surprise seeing how the omega no longer looked like her dainty self back at the omega house. You could see she was a hard worker and did not sit back while watching her alphas do all the work.

“Alpha.” The omega greeted Negi with a kiss.

“Baby,” Miguel reached for her as she walked in with grace. “Come say hi to the prime alphas and their omega.“

The omega had a smile on her lips but as her eyes scanned her guest her lips morphed into a frown. The frown came when her gaze finally landed on you… and then silence filled the air along with an uncomfortable feeling…as if the air had become humid.

This all happened within a long minute.

Not even your pitiful awkward smile could save you. Daggers were being thrown at you at rapid speed. You could feel that fuzzy feeling you’d get when you are about to be attacked.

Aw shit…

Miguel reacted fast, “Tigress!” He caught her with an arm around her waist.

Your alphas went to step in front of you but you put your hands up to keep them from going on the defense.

“What is she doing here!?” Tigress growled looking you up and down with pure disdain.

Well, you give her props for not giving a fuck about your alphas.

“Watch your tone.” Sukuna growled at the omega in a threatening way, but that in return had Miguel growling at him.

“Don’t growl at my omega!”

“Then control your omega!”

Tigress scoffed at Sukuna’s words, “Control? My alphas don’t control me, I am the one that controls this home and I want you to take your omega and get out of my fucking house.”

Oh damn… well could you really be surprised?

The betas seemed nervous as they tried to push out calming pheromones, “The food is done. Is everyone ready to eat?” Arata questioned while inching his way between everyone.

“Yes, let us eat, we don't want all this good food to go to waste.” Getou smiled trying to disengage the situation.

“…”

“We are just passing by, after we eat we will be out of your nest.” Nanami added.

Miguel rubbed Tigress’ back as she hissed looking away.

Everyone was standing still, awaiting the omega to make the choice. You could now see what people saw in your pack, Negi and Miguel would do anything Tigress says even if it meant fighting five powerful alphas.

Win or lose they’d do it for her.

”Tigress, sweetie.” Negi spoke sweetly to his omega, rubbing her cheek gently.

“Fine.” Was her final statement as she walked to the table.

“Perfect- you guys are gonna love this!” Miguel was back in his excitement, helping the betas move the food to the table.

You sat as far away from Tigress but the omega decided to move from her seat so she could sit right across from you.

Well, this is just going to be a lovely feast.

“Negi, can you get me some wine please?” Tigress asked but the alpha was already on it. He placed a cup in front of her and then kissed the top of her head.

“I got you, my dear.”

The sweet smile Tigress gave her alpha was fleeting before she dropped it to glare at you.

You didn't even know where to begin to speak with the woman. She had every right to hate Raven but YOU didn't do anything. However, how the hell do you explain that without giving away too much information?

You opt for silence as everyone sat at the table and began to eat including the betas.

You voiced your thoughts, trying to say it as a compliment, “Your betas have a seat at the table as well? I can say I'm happy to see a pack treat everyone with respect.”

Miguel nodded, “They are-“

“Not everyone is a raging bitch.” Tigress scoffed in her cup as she took a long drink.

“Yes…” Nanami coughed nervously, “…Our betas join us for dinner as well, it was actually Raven who pushed for this occurrence during our travels.”

“It was Tigress who demanded that they have a place at the table,” Miguel added proudly. “It seems they have something in common.”

“Yeah our omega -hm- HATES when anyone is treated- like shit.” Gojo threw in chewing with his mouth full.

“Unless it’s her treating them like shit.” Tigress spoke under her breath.

“What was that sweetie?” Negi questioned.

You shook your head, eating the passive-aggressive comments as much as you could. If she was going to say it then why won’t she say it with her chest! You inwardly growled…It was starting to get hard to breathe, Tigress was pushing her scent out trying to claim her home like some macho alpha. It was making you dizzy. Most omegas would want to escape the suffocating fragrance, but for you it was pissing you off. You didn’t like how it was starting to stick to your alphas. She was trying to make you uncomfortable. So you would leave.

“Can I get some more wine please?” This was about to be a long meal.

“Of course.” Akari got up to grab the bottle but Tigress downed her drink swiftly and then held her cup up as soon as the beta came around.

The beta hesitated before pouring her omega’s cup first and then yours.

You could see the smugness within Tigress' gaze as she takes a drink. Like she was Queen Heather.

You took a drink of your wine trying to continue on your righteous path and ignore her, but just drinking your wine somehow turned into a secret battle. You would drink then she would and then it bounced back and forth and one of the alphas would give you more.

She was challenging you and mama didn’t raise no bitch!

By the fourth cup, both of you set your cups down at the same time and said-

“May I have more wine please!”

That resulted in little glares and growls.

“Perhaps we should slow down on the wine…” Nanami stated, looking at everyone else for help.

“Yes, the day is still young no need for-“ Negi began but Tigress put her hand up.

“You know what, I’ll get it myself.”

Nanami had given you a little squeeze to your thigh but you didn’t care. You weren’t even doing anything! You were trying to be quiet and to yourself but SHE chose to sit across from you and be petty as all hell! The only thing stopping you from flipping the table was the fact that you knew your character bullied her, you just don’t know to what extent.

If Dove could forgive you then she certainly should be able to. Dove got the worst of it! You expected this behavior from Dove so what was her deal?

Tigress stood and snatched the bottle from the middle pouring her cup first and then reaching over to pour yours. “Say when.” She spoke with a mischievous flare.

Alright, you played these games before. “No no, I got it let me-“

“You are my guest I got it. Just say when dear. You can do that it’s simple.” She began to pour the drink and as soon as she started you said-

“When.”

“Oh sweetie that’s nearly not enough you need more~!” Tigress soon dumped the bottle into your cup causing it to slosh over.

But like you thought, you played these games before so you scooted back before any of the wine could spill on you.

“Oops, how clumsy of me~!” She giggled evilly with a hand to her lips, but then she realized none got on you making her scowl.

“Oh, no worries I knew you would do that.” You said with a little smirk and glare like you were Daenerys from Game of Thrones.

“Huh oh did you now? What is that supposed to mean?”

“So!” Miguel shouted over the two of you, “Did you know that Raven had saved a group of enslaved omegas and betas from the underworld?”

“Good for her.” Tigress rolled her eyes and then glared at her alpha. “Why the fuck you on her cock?”

“No- I was just saying-“

“Yeah yeah, I heard! She saved Aika! She did this she did that! She’s such a fucking hero!”

“Ok-“ you finally stand up. Peace was never an option. “Tigress, if you want to talk we can talk. There is no need to act like pups.”

“Oh fuck you bitch. I know the real you! All these things you are doing I bet they are all lies that your alphas are putting out there. Trying to make you look better than you are! Money is a powerful thing isn’t it?”

“We didn’t do anything.” Nanami stated in anger.

“Her achievements are her own.” Toji added wiping his mouth with a napkin- his plate was already cleaned off.

Tigress shook her head, tears glossing over her eyes but she blinked them away, “How-how could you invite them here knowing she was with them? How could you do this to me alpha?”

Miguel’s expression morphed into a sorrowful frown, “I didn’t mean to offend you kitten, I only wanted to see why Getou would choose her…or if it were a mistake.”

Getou seemed surprised by this revelation, “My omega is no mistake….Tigress she is not the same woman who harassed you in the omega house, she has changed.”

“Oh-“ Tigress scoffed with a little laugh, “so you all know your omega is nothing but a disgusting bitch?” She stated with words laced in venom.

Your alphas were about to fly in, chairs scraping the floor but you threw your hands outward making them sit back down, “Enough you guys, I can handle this.” With that, you set your stern gaze toward Tigress. You didn’t want to start a fight, you understand why she was angry. If Mahito just walked into your house all fine and dandy you might have flipped out just the same.

You needed to find a way to explain yourself.

You were not her bully!

Tigress pursed her lips, “Oh you think you can handle me huh? I may have been weak in the omega house but I have gotten much stronger.”

“I don’t want to fight you, just listen Tigress… I’m going to tell you something very important…you can believe me or not, but I have no recollection of the omega home. My memory has been-“

*SPLASH!*

You gasped in shock feeling your face drip with wine. You put your hands out like you couldn’t believe what had occurred.

Neither could anyone else.

They all looked in silent surprise.

“How’s that for talking bitch?”

You scoffed, and maybe if you didn’t have so much alcohol in your system you would have been able to reel yourself back in but instead you said, “You dumb fucking bitch- I’m gonna fuck you up!”

“Bring it on whore!”

The two of you flung across the table at each other, and glass, food, and drinks went flying everywhere.

“Hey-!”

“What the fuck-!”

Your alphas shouted but you were in the zone. You didn’t know what was up or what was down, the adrenaline pumped in your veins while you were scratching and clawing at each other like wild animals.

“Enough you two!”

“Guys!”

Your alphas tried to step in but the two of you paused with a handful of hair and clothes in your hands as you both growled out,” “STAY OUT OF THIS!”

Then you were back to scratching and wrestling each other.

The two of you fumbled off the table and then started to really fight. Tigress picked up a knife and threw it like a tomahawk, it twirled in the air as you backbend to dodge it.

You released a growl as you picked up the wine bottle and tried to crack it on her head but she too was fast. The bottle smashed against the table and then you charged the woman as she tried to scurry backward. You tackled her over the side as the two of you fell onto the couch and bounced off it to roll on the floor.

“I always hated you!”

“I don’t even remember what happened!”

Words could barely get out while the fighting continued.

“Kick her ass!” Gojo cheered you on.

“Go for her eyes!” Miguel shouted in protest.

Nanami and Negi looked at each other, not liking this one bit, “Should we… stop the fight?”

“No, let them claw it out- DON’T LET HER UP WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT PUNCH!?” Sukuna growled.

“I can’t watch this.” Toji hissed while covering his eyes.

You were able to twist around Tigress, throwing your arm around her neck as you got her in a chokehold. She grabbed your arm and stood up with you on her back, and right when she was about to jump backward, you quickly let go and pushed back.

That would have fucking hurt!

Tigress spun around getting into a sort of taekwondo stance. Her fighting style was all within her legs, and they were quite strong. You didn’t necessarily have a fighting style that you practiced, most of your work was with your magic. Your physical stats weren’t zero but it was a skill that you lacked. If you just busted out a shadow ball this fight would have been over, but you chose not to.

“Come on then, don’t Taka out just yet!” You taunted her making her charge at you like a bull.

“I would never!” She jumped into the air with a flying kick but you stepped swiftly to the side. As she tried to regain herself you ran at her with a punch. Tigress twirled around and tried to get you with a backward kick.

You were able to dodge that attack and followed up with your own attack.

That’s how it went on.

The two of you twisted around each other throwing kicks and punches and falling into a fighting dance.

Your audience continued to cheer and shout but their noises were just within the background.

You were focused on your opponent. Going back and forth. You didn’t even realize you were on the bridge. You only noticed because you almost fell off once or twice.

Some jabs were thrown in- physical and mental- it was the only conversation the two of you had.

This was a personal vendetta that you could see needed to be handled between the two of you, so if it was a fight she wanted it will be a fight you would give her.

Tigress tried to do another spinning kick but you were quicker this time. You ducked under and caught her foot with a sweeping kick.

“Ah!” The woman lost her balance as she tried to regain herself but that led to her tip-toeing on the edge.

“Watch out!” You grabbed for her hand but the momentum was too much for you to pull her back. Both of you let out a shriek as you fell and crashed into the water below.

“Baby!” Miguel was running for the water, ripping his shirt off.

“Wait!” Getou caught the man as they all came onto the deck to see where you guys were.

“She can’t swim!” Negi was going to dive in as well but Getou shook his head.

“My omega won’t let her drown, that’s not the type of person she is.”

“You don’t understand, she’s afraid-“ Miguel paused as he watched you break the surface with Tigress in your arms.

“H-help me!” Tigress cried in distress while waving her arms wildly.

“I got you calm down!” You held the omega up using a spell to make you both float. A little white ring pulsed around both of you like invisible life rings. “I used a spell you are fine Tigress.”

But the woman was still frightened. “Can’t can’t’ swim- can’t-I can’t-“

She was gasping having an inner meltdown. You knew Tigress hated water but you didn’t know it was to this extent.

“Alright alright!” You grabbed her and swam towards the stairs, her grip on you hurt. She was hanging on you for dear life. As soon as you got to the stairs she scrambled up them like a cat that had just touched the bathtub.

“Baby, are you okay?” Miguel encased her in his arms as she shivered.

Negi came by with a blanket from the living room, “Come on let’s get you to your nest.”

As her alphas tended to her yours came down the steps to help you out of the water.

“Well, that was eventful.” Gojo joked.

“It was something.” You chuckled.

Sukuna wrinkled his nose, “I need to teach you better hand-to-hand combat.”

“Our princess did well.” Toji defended you.

Getou raised a brow. “I’m surprised you even saw anything behind your hands.”

“Were you covering your eyes?” You questioned Toji as he got flustered.

“It was hard to watch! I know you wanted me to stay out of it but you know how I get when someone tries to hurt my baby.”

“I think I was more worried about Toji passing out then anything actually happening to our sexy commander.” Gojo chuckled.

“Heh, well I’m glad someone had faith in me to handle it.”

“I had faith.” Nanami spoke with a gentle hand upon his chest, “I just didn’t want such violence to occur and ruin our relationship with the people we were trying to save.”

You frown at the thought, “Yeah… I’m sure Tigress won’t want to see us ever again. Sorry, Getou.”

“Don’t worry dear, I’m sure you wowed her with your kick to her stomach.”

“Oh, really you think I gave her butterflies?”

“Yes, should we count this as five on the harem list?”

“I don’t know what kind of magic you think I have but I don’t think anyone would fall in love with someone who just fought them…Gojo put your hand down.”

“Sorry~.”

“I would, it would show how strong my omega is. But let’s face it you wouldn’t be able to really beat me.” Sukuna spoke all high and mighty.

“Uh didn’t she beat you in the training ring?” Nanami pointed out.

“Yeah until he cheated!” You add.

“No I didn’t tap out and you got distracted so technically I won.”

“Booo~!”

“Booo Sukuna sucks booo!”

“Don’t boo me I’m right!”

You released a laugh at your silly alphas, falling into your usual bickering pattern.

Within the back of your mind, you thought maybe someday Tigress could forgive you…maybe if she saw that Dove forgave you…she could too…

Maybe someday you could be friends.
