House of Alphas Chapter 108: Apart (Patreon)

“Kaboom!- The house exploded, wooden pieces flying everywhere! Smoke spreads across the junkyard…As the kids cough and look around, they don’t see anyone else… but- within the smoke…the older man can be seen dancing with his wife's spirit one last time… Her soul was finally free from the house as she said her final goodbyes…floating happily away.” You breathed a sigh for a dramatic pause. “…And for Halloween night, the cranky-mean- grumpy- old man…could be seen smiling and laughing gleefully as he returned all the lost toys to the children…a side of him the neighborhood had never seen before...” You paused again but before you could continue Mimiko popped up with wide eyes-

“And what happened to the people the house ate?”

“Did they die?” While leaning forward, Gojo questioned, intrigued by the story just like Mimiko.

“They-“

“Dead.” Sukuna snorted like it was obvious.

“Noooo~” You wag your finger at the alpha, “They crawled out of the wreckage, safe and sound.”

“Aw man…” Mimiko pouted.

You let out a snort, “Did you want them to die?”

“I mean…” Mimiko shrugged, “The bully was mean and the cops were stupid… serves them right.”

“I like this kid.” Sukuna nodded.

“Let’s keep him far away from Mimiko…” Getou whispered to you as you nodded your head.

Mimiko shifted in her spot, “Can you tell me more about Halloween?”

“Well, it’s a spooky night where everyone would dress up and have a fun time getting scared and eating candy.”

“That. Sounds. Amazing.” Mimiko gushed.

You smiled, happy that she was smiling. “Really?”

“Yeah-I love scary things and candy!”

“I love candy… but the scary part you can take that part.” Gojo waved.

Mimiko looked shocked, “The scary part is the best part!”

Sukuna chuckled and then slapped his leg, “I bet you want to hear something real scary.” The fiend grinned.

“Yeah!” Mimiko nodded excitedly.

You could see the fire flicker in Sukuna’s eyes as he said, “Alright this is the story about cute little animatronics that come to life at night and eat pups-“

“Noooo that one is too scary!” Gojo shivered at the thought, “Reminds me of that creepy mechamaru guy- that shit can be in our future!”

“Don’t be a wimp-“ Sukuna countered but you had to cut him off.

“Sukuna no, that story might be a little too scary.”

“Yes robots and mechanical creatures do give me the creeps…” Even Nanami agreed.

“AW~ I’m not scared Raven I'm a big girl!”

Though you were excited to see Mimiko be so involved in your pack and show so much character, you were afraid such a story could give her nightmares. Sometimes kids do not know what they are asking for. “I might have another story that’s not too scary…”

Sukuna rolled his eyes, “Come on just because Gojo had nightmares doesn’t mean she will.”

“I did not have nightmares!”

“You did-“

“Not-“

“You did!”

You released a laugh as you glanced at the tree Toji was hiding in. He was keeping his scent discreet so the pup wouldn’t smell him. You knew he was there, behind the leaves as he listened to you tell your story. You only caught a glimpse of him now and again. You searched for him, hoping to meet his gaze. So he knows that you are thinking about him even when he’s not right here.

Getou’s words cut into your mind, “You thought that one doll story was scary too.”

Gojo shook his head in disbelief- like he couldn’t believe they didn’t think it was scary, “Dolls coming to life is very creepy what do you mean!”

Sukuna let out a laugh, “I thought it was supposed to be a comedy?”

“A story about a doll coming to life?” Mimiko questioned as she looked at her own mangled toy.

See this is why you had to be careful with what stories you tell!

“Alright settle down guys.“ You wave your hands to calm your alphas.

Nanami then perked up as he looked over the fire, “Ryoumen did you never give Toji his food?”

“Oh-“ Sukuna looked down realizing he had eaten both bowls.

“Sukuna!” You look at him in shock. Now you felt even worse! Your poor alpha was forgotten!

“I forgot- my bad.” The alpha sat up to fill the bowl but you took it from him.

“Let me see-I will go give it to him.” You shook your head, upset that Toji was waiting for his food. He was already by himself and now this? It made you truly sad. As you went you heard Gojo say…

“Way to go asskuna-“

“Fuck you-“

“Hey!” You called while walking past the bushes, “No cursing in front of the pups!”

“Sorry!”

You stepped over some sticks, carrying the food out into the darkening shadows. You hated how isolated your alpha was. It didn’t make you feel good by any means. You hated this. Hated this separation. Once you've gotten far enough away, you call out, “Toji?”

“Hey, baby.”

You looked up to see your alpha sitting in a tree, his arm resting on his propped-up knee.

You offer him a smile, “Hi my alpha, I brought you something to eat, I’m sure you are hungry…sorry Sukuna must have gotten lost in the story more than the pup.” You let out a chuckle as your alpha released one as well.

“It’s fine sweetheart…you can set the food on the stump.” He nodded his head making you look to where he was gesturing.

Your smile slowly fell as you realized he hadn’t come down to embrace you, and he wanted you to place his food down like you were DoorDash just here to deliver it and leave. “Alpha? Why won’t you come down here?” You looked up at him with a lean to your head, “I won’t bite?” You teased lightly.

Toji grinned, “That’s not what I’ve heard.”

“Oh~ did Getou say something?” You played along hoping that Toji would finally decide to come to you.

But he didn’t.

“It’s been the word around the pack. Our princess is getting a little feisty huh?” He laughed lightly as he repositioned himself upon his branch. He looked pretty intent on staying away from you.

You wanted to hug and kiss him. You missed his presence greatly so why is he acting distant?

“Feisty”?” You fix your lips into a pout as you move to place his food down upon the stump. You then set your glare, “Well you better come down here before your princess shows you feisty.”

Toji seemed surprised by your statement, standing up on his branch as he sputtered, “What? Ah baby you are getting the wrong idea-I do want to come down there, I just don’t want my scent on you. It’ll make the pups upset.”

Your expression morphed into a frown, you released a small, “Oh…” now understanding why he was keeping his space- that made a lot of sense.

Your hurt look seemed to pain the alpha, but he tried to disguise it with a soft smile, “You miss me?”

You walked toward the tree resting your palm on the bark as you looked up at him, “I do…do you miss me?”

“…Every second…”

“…” You felt pain in your heart but then hope had you breathing again, “…Hey- I got an idea…do we still have fish from Kobeq?”

“Yeah, why? You want seafood?”

“No no! I can rub fish on me afterwards! It’s what Gojo did when he tried to get rid of Tigress' scent. Even though he smelled stinky it still masked it.”

“Ugh princess no way, I’m not gonna let you stink yourself up-“

“Don’t care! Now get down here and hug me before I chop this tree down!”

Toji made a face looking around as if looking for help- if the others were here he’d try to get them to convince you otherwise. While he was trying to think of a different way there was a big THWAK that caught his attention. He looked down to see you hacking at the tree with your sword, dark energy formed around it as you giggled.

THWAK!

That one shook the tree making him stumble,

“Alright alright, I’m coming down!” He jumped, leaves rushing with him. Before he could even straighten up you had thrown yourself at him nuzzling him sweetly.

“I missed you so much…” You purred softly as he returned your hug.

“I missed you too…it does suck being away from you, but I’m happy you are getting closer to the pups…well one of them…”

“Yeah…it’s a work in progress…come you need to eat!” You kissed him swiftly before dragging him over to his food.

You picked up Toji’s food so he could sit down on the stump. Handing him the bowl you were surprised he didn’t grab it, but instead had pulled you into his lap.

“Sorry, I’m going to enjoy your presence as much as I can before you go back.”

“No need to apologize.” You got comfortable upon his leg, his arm wrapped around your waist. You held the bowl up for him, and he took the spoon with his other hand.

You watched him intently, transfixed by him as he ate.

“What?” He questioned after swallowing his food down.

“Nothing…” You shook your head, “…Just enjoying you as much as I can before I go back.” You finished with a smile, but swiftly you threw a joke in to make light of the situation. “-and of course, before I rub fish on myself.”

That got your alpha laughing as he scooped up more food to eat. “I’m sure the others are going to love that… you better tell them I tried to stop you.”

“Like they will believe that.”

Toji sputtered, ”I did!”

“Not hard enough but that’s because you can’t tell me no~.”

Toji pinched your side, “Don’t make me call Sukuna.”

You released a little giggle, knowing the threat was empty. Silence fell upon you for like five seconds- your time with Toji felt limited. Curiosity finally got control of your tongue. “The…pups’ father…” You began slowly. You noticed how Toji hesitated for a second before dipping his spoon into the bowl again.

“I don’t know…honestly... I haven’t a clue who their father could be.” He stated softly. “I’ve thought about it but…the faces of my past are all a blur…I killed…a lot of people…most of them witches…it could have just been someone unlucky to cross my path…or someone stupid enough to try me...”

You nodded slowly, “Yeah…that’s what I had thought…” It was actually exactly what you thought.

Toji rested the spoon in the bowl, he paused thinking about something. Before you could ask him he looked at you with a tinge of fear. “Does that upset you?”

You gave him a flabbergasted look, “Are you serious? Toji no! I would never be upset with you. What happened was tragic but that’s not who you are.”

His gaze shifted away from you, “But it is. If something were to happen to you I would burn this entire world to the ground. Doesn’t matter, friend or foe.”

“No you wouldn’t.” You snorted shaking your head.

Toji looked at you with his brows furrowed, his expression almost upset, “Yes I would-“

“You wouldn’t.” You shook your head firmly.

“You may think- I’m some sweet guy but I’m not, really. I’m fucking selfish and all I have to live for right now is you and before that, it was nothing not even my...”

His son. Not even his son could give him a reason to live.

You slowly nodded your head, placing a hand upon his cheek. “I know…But I think you would know I would be up there with Tengen pissed as fuck if you hurt our pack…our family and our friends...”

Toji seemed taken aback by your words, dropping his eyes. Then he whispered, “…Then Tengen better send you back to stop me.”

You knew your alphas were obsessed with you and you knew that they would watch the world burn if it meant you would even blow a kiss at them. They were in fact crazy.

Luckily you used your pussy powers for good.

You didn’t have to.

Your alphas wouldn’t bat an eye at you but…

You don’t know why but it made you feel good to help others.

To have so much power to make a change.

You were in control and you got to decide where to sic your demon dogs.

The world was the oyster your alphas brought to you.

And you loved them for that. Loved that they loved you so much. But if you looked at this from another angle this could be terrifying.

You picked up the spoon that Toji had forgotten, scooping up some food as you offered him a bite. “Come on Alpha, let’s not speak about these what-ifs…I have a strong pack of alphas that will protect me…and I’m pretty feisty myself... “ You smile once Toji took the spoon from you.

“…You can be…” He settled down, eating his food. “Seeing you in your shadow form was…something.”

You had gone silent for a bit, thinking back to your first kill which was a fucking multi-kill. “I know…and what if there’s someone down the line that will hate me for what I did? I had a moment of anger…it was a mistake…What I did…and if I could go back I would think of a different way…but I can’t … what happened happened…and I must learn from it and many other mistakes that I will eventually make, because I’m not perfect and neither are you…no one is…but even so… I’d like to believe our worst moments…don’t define us…”

Toji slid his other arm around you, bowl dropping on the ground as he held you to his chest. He rests his lips upon your crown, murmuring, “…What if our worst moments are too much to forgive…”

“…” You sat there for a while, hugging your alpha and falling into silence.

His words made you realize that maybe you could be wrong in your views.

You knew Toji regretted some of his killings in the past just as you regretted wiping out the Chi Village. But that’s what made you different from monsters right? You didn’t enjoy what you did and neither did Toji.

The thought of it all had you a little dizzy but soon you had to return to camp so that you could rest.

“Alright give me the fish bath.” You sighed, throwing your hands out to the side so that your alpha may slather you with slimy fish.

Toji made a face as he worked, “You sure you can handle this?”

“I’ll be fine, I’ll use some of that stuff Getou drops in his nose.” You released a little laugh but then almost gagged as the smell hit you.

Toji gave you one last kiss before he finished up, “Alright…you smell…”

“Not great.” You sighed placing your hands upon your hips, “-but it was worth it to spend some time with you.” You added making your alpha smile a bit.

“Our next stop is Yoko, so you will be able to take a nice bath when we get there.”

“It will be the first thing I do.” You bowed your head to Toji then blew him a kiss, “Have a good night my alpha.”

“Goodnight princess.”

You felt pain leaving Toji alone, but you were going to ask one of your alphas to keep him company. Getting into camp you felt happy seeing Mimiko sitting beside Nanami listening to him as he showed her his drawing book-

HIS BOOK THAT WAS PERHAPS FULL OF NAKED PICTURES OF YOU!

“Nanami!” You rushed over as both Nanami and Mimiko looked behind their shoulder with questioning eyebrows.

“What’s wrong sweetheart?” Nanami questioned as you looked to see the picture he was showing Mimiko was of the beach in Kobeq. It was beautiful how he captured the scene making it look picture perfect.

“Oh…” You laughed awkwardly. “…Sorry I just-“

“My word-“ Getou made a face, plugging his nose. “Darling is that you?”

“What? What are you talking about?” You feigned ignorance. “Mimiko do I smell?” You ask her as you move your arm to her nose.

“Ew~” she giggled covering her face and leaning far away from you.

“You smell beautiful my queen~!” Gojo hugged you but then he weezed falling backwards in a comical fashion.

Sukuna stood as he backed away from you, “I’m gonna go check on Toji.”

“Sukuna come give me some sugar~!”

“I don’t want your freaking sugar-“

“Sukuna give her some sugar don’t be rude!”

“You give her some sugar!”

You chased Sukuna around the camp making Mimiko laugh. Her cute giggles are what spurred you on as you ran around like some duck duck goose chase. You could tell Sukuna was also playing along to make the pup laugh.

But the laughter died abruptly.

Your laughter trailed off as you stopped chasing Sukuna to see why everyone had gone quiet. You looked over to see Nanako standing behind your pack with a glare…

“N-nanako…” Mimiko seemed nervous about her sister's presence. “…Raven and Getou made our f-favorite…” She picked up the basket of cookies, offering the treats to her twin.

SMACK!

The basket hit the ground, cookies tumbling out.

You were shocked that the girl had knocked the cookies out of her sister’s hands. You thought at most she would have just denied them but this was unacceptable. Before you could say anything

Nanako stomped her foot in anger, “Why are you pretending that everything is okay! These people are not our friends!”

Mimiko rubbed at her hand, “But they-“

“Made you cookies! Is that all it takes for you to forget what their alpha did!”

“That’s enough Nanako.” You stepped up, all the earlier humour dropped from your tone. “My alpha has been keeping his distance so you can feel comfortable. He knows what he has done is wrong and he can’t change what has happened but he is no threat to you. He has only chosen to protect you as best as he can and you can hate him all you want he will still choose to protect you. So isolate yourself- stay in your nest this entire trip but that is what you choose. You decide that for yourself. But you will not force Mimiko to her nest!” As you spoke, Mimiko scooted behind you.

You stood between the girls, the blonde girl’s wavering gaze going from you to the other pup but you blocked her view.

She then puffed up, balling her fist, “W-well fine! I don’t care!” She stomped to her nest and then growled at her sister, “You aren’t my sister anymore!”

Your eyes widen as you look at Mimiko. Her face scrunching up as her eyes burst with tears.

That made you very upset- “Nanako do not be cruel to your sister- Go to your nest right now!”

“I’m already in my nest!” With that Nanako shut her tent with a harsh yank.

You heard her release a scream as you muted your little frustrated scream of your own. Trying to hold it in so no one hears you.

You then turned around to see your alphas looking at you with wide eyes.

“What are you guys looking at?”

Swiftly everyone acted as if they were doing something else-

“So how about the moon huh looks great-“

“Toji’s gonna need another bowl-“

“Nanami can you look at this mole above my butt-“

“Getou for the last time Casar doesn’t exist in this world-“

You released a breath, calming your nerves. Your alphas busying themselves with whatever. Bending down in front of Mimiko you rest your arms upon your knees. She was a bit speechless, the ground having her focus.

“Hey…” You began with a soft voice.

“I’m…mm…” she pressed her lips together, trying to fight for words.

“Shh… It’s okay Mimiko…I hope you understand that you do not deserve to be spoken to that way. I know a lot is going on right now but we all sort things out differently…do whatever makes you feel better okay?”

The girl nodded her head, shoulders relaxing a bit, “S-sorry…about your cookies…they were really good…”

You looked to see that the pup was looking at the treats this whole time. “Oh haha~ that? Don’t worry about it…Getou and I can make some more and next time you can help us…and maybe we can see if we can get Nanako out of her tent too…”

“Oh…” Finally, she looked up at you, curiosity within her eyes. “And…your alpha…is he mad at… me?”

“Wh-“ you were about to ask who but it clicked a second late. “…No…no he just wants you guys to feel comfortable…”

“…He looks like the scary man…but he doesn’t act scary…m-maybe it’s not him..?”

It pained you to know that she and her sister had probably witnessed such a traumatizing event.

You didn’t know how to explain to the pup that the monster that killed her father was the same man. In her mind, she is trying to separate the two despite them looking exactly alike. You’d like to believe the two people were not the same but Toji seemed to believe otherwise.

You now understand that the scary monster was dormant and only you kept it there.

“Let’s get you to bed… we will be leaving in a couple of hours…”

Chef Note: I think Coraline is a great spooky children's movie but perhaps not a good one to tell at the moment since the pup had lost her mother and father v-v.

I don’t know if anyone watches Regurlar Show but the give me some sugar part is from that lmao XD. That show was like a feverish dream tbh. Of course there are other references in here too lmao, I’m sure you probably noticed some XD
