Matt and Daniel are joined by historian and journalist Samira Mohyeddin to discuss “crisis vultures,” whether the Obama oratory can sell a Kamala Harris pro-Israel candidacy, and to decide whether Ta-Nehisi Coates or Elica Le Bon has a better grasp of the Palestinian plight.

I sense Daniel is fully post duopoly compared with Matt who sounds like he has his Democrat party wife in his ear.

Richelle Topping

Holy crap Giuliani sounds like T-Bird from The Crow (94 - I hate that I have to specify now)

“I love you, you love me, from the river to the sea, with a great big hug and maybe also bombs 💣 Israel was ethnic cleansing all along”

I have to say I'm impressed with the intro to this episode! You found your rhythm 🪘🪘🪘 also great great episode

Mixed marriages are hard. I say that jokingly but you can't reduce all of this to interpersonal disagreements on a tactical level that won't ultimately impact anything. I don't know what's going on there and neither do you. It's time to give some grace. (LOL I can't figure out how to phrase this comment without being offensive to everybody involved ) It's not productive to invoke the intimate relationships of our podcast hosts. The people I am closest to, by birth and by choice, are some of the people I disagree with most strenuously.

Britz Man

I think relatives are fair game if they’re influencing the otherwise great politics of this show.

Scott Grabel

So if we go by 23andMe, Manchester is a more legitimate identity than Palestine.

You'll find a lot of the same "hating Palestinians as rebellion against Islamic societies" on r/exmuslim, since supporting Palestine has been such a celebrated cause among Muslims for so long

Cory

I struggle with these thoughts as well.

I made a comment on Taibbi's substack, overwhelmingly thought as beyond the pale, referencing his wife's work as a pediatrician and her insight into the medical issues he was discussing as a journalist. Yeah it's fair game but it's still a low blow.

I’m not even sure what OPs comment means. I’m not anti-duopoly in what sense? We pretty much only talk about how democrats are genocidal. Take that weird parasocial shit to tumblr.

Cory

I think he's inputing your wife's seemingly more normie beliefs onto you. Or somehow accusing you for her opinions. Which he may be misinterpreting. You're right parasocial bullshit.
