Matt and Daniel welcome Yugo, JT and Hakim from The Deprogram for a swing through Shaiel Ben-Ephraim's sudden awakening to actual reality, followed by his immediate ejection from establishment zionist circles, and to discover whether an Israel-Palestine peace accord can be induced by an art form that's historically caused so much pain: boy band music.

Sorry, Adam: SIX

I adore "Passion." A great album from Gabriel, and a truly vital aspect of the film. I was lucky enough to see "The Last Temptation" on opening night on the old Seattle Cinerama's massive screen. Got the album as soon as I could. I bought "America: Why I Love Her" as a joke gift for my dad years ago. He loved it, so the joke was on me. 😂

Should have leveled Yugo down a bit... He's a yeller

Regarding young Israelis being lied to: any white person that lives in a colonial state (I'm Australian) was also lied to about the origins of our countries. Particularly in relation to the way indigenous cultures and people were treated. But I'm not sad about the lie bring a lie. I'M FUCKING ANGRY.

on a lighter note, this episode can only be described as homoerotic core

1:33:40 They call it "milieu control" in the cult psychology literature. Since they can't hermetically seal off their cult members Fr mnthe rest of society they train them to avoid disconfirming truths by disregarding them as blasphemy and wicked lies, and aggressively ostracise those who digress. Ostracism is a powerful tool of social control with a social psych subliterature genre all it's own worth diving into. Kipling Williams is the big muckety muck reseacher in that "space" 😂

I think it was Robert Jay Lifton who coined "milieu control" in the book Thought Reform and the Psychology of Totalism

Liberal Zionists are really the best way to understand many people in cults. They truly think they are part of something unique and special, and then do checks on themselves to make sure that, yes they are good people and so what they are a part of is good. It's not easy to get out of a cult, especially if you have been indoctrinated for years, but it is possible and letting people know they have a lifeline is important.

God I’ve been seeing the ads for the boy band for so long I was waiting for yall to get your meaty claws on them

It’s not that wild that genocide admitters can remain Zionists. You always say that right wing sociopathic Zionazis are the most honest about what is needed to fulfill Zionism’s promise. So it makes sense that on the other end, liberal Zionists who know Israel is committing genocide, their belief is the most ethereal, holding onto their label because they believe in a make belief Israel that has never and will never exist.
