With Matt on assignment, Daniel is joined by Producer Adam and brother of the pod, journalist Aaron Maté to survey mysteriously shrouded Israeli weapons demonstrations, the purported expertise of the New York Times Editorial Board, and fittingly for an episode with 100% more Canadians than normal: a thorough investigation of things you can’t do on television (if hasbarists are watching).

I can't wait for the video

Ian Weniger

Adam brings it! Was there ever any doubt

Josie

Am I the only one who thinks Aaron's voice sounds a lot like Matt's? 🤔

Miss Lizzi

What's local 972 mean? Lol forgive me, im from down under

Ian Weniger

Hello comrade... Labour unions in North America call their constituent branches "locals." Most locals are numbered but some are numbered and named by region. "972" is the country code for telephone calls to Palestine. Hope that helps!

Not sure what it is, but this episode was way better than usual. Keep it up Matt and Daniel.

As an American Catholic, I’ve always assumed phrases like “Allahu Akbar” or “Inshallah” were basically the same thing as us using phrases like “Jesus Christ!” when surprised, stressed, etc. or “Thank God” when we’re thankful, regardless of your religion. I could be way off and would def wanna be corrected if so, but it’s always just felt like islamophobic fear mongering whenever these news conglomerates show videos of Arabs/Muslims in general just… speaking Arabic.

I’m seeing double here, four Matés!

Speaking of Love and Mercy, any chance of getting John Cusack on?

Elspeth Brown

Pretty close, except (as a half Irish woman learning Arabic and married to a Palestinian) it tends to be less taking God's name in vainy. With the exception of "inshallah", which is regularly used to mean "that's very unlikely/ never gonna happen".

Hey hey hey 👋 Mate gang

The AI voices are pretty funny but do we really need to be using AI? There's just so much info out there about how bad it is for everyone, the planet, etc. Feels unnecessary.
