Love this song! Matt, your accent is the best 🤣.

The King of Tiny Accidents

“One precious Jew” is up there with “bad human material” for “stealing a moniker from Zionist propaganda”

Nailah Wolf

Hellooooooo good people!!

Nailah Wolf

For Palestinians from Upper Galilee before ‘48 half hour by donkey to Lebanon. Many Pals owned land in Palestine and Lebanon consider themselves Lebanese now . Vacations in Lebanon was an easy lovely thing to do for Palestinians . Many Pals escaped to Lebanon in ‘48. Those who didn’t would smuggle things to them waiting in Beirut, hoping to return. So many stories of survival and perseverance.

Ray

great job! also im nearly 50 and i could have sat for a bit longer

Aman

Why is the "starting soon" track such a banger??

Caroline

Is the refusal to heal because they are worried about being victimized again? Or is it because the trauma serves as a justification for all of their crimes, both to outsiders and to themselves?

Shazia Ahmad

Honestly, Matt, Daniel and Producer Adam, this episode was amazing. Noura Erakat is wonderful and your conversation with her was just what I needed to hear on this rather depressing day.

Penny M ?

Dazzlingly brilliant guest ❤️🔥

phhhh

Omg this song

Ibrahim Khatib

I put up some spare change. Hope it helps

What the haters of that holocaust museum fail to realize is that the only reason any non-Jews care about Jewish victims of the holocaust is out of human empathy. The zionists want to pull all of the other humanity blocks out of the jenga tower and just leave Jewish exceptionalism and think that Jenga tower of empathy can stand for them without the rest of the human blocks. Their selfishness undermines why the rest of humanity should care about them as well as everyone else. You see this with how pissed off they get when any of Hitler's victims that are not Jewish get mentioned.

NB

I Need to know which song its spoofing!! I can’t remember and it’s driving me crazy

Jay Ronimo

I strongly disagree with the equation between racism and sexism first of all. Also, I disagree that womanhood is being used to impede the progress of transgender issues. There are perfectly valid questions to be asked around the issue of transgender without being categorised as reactionary.

“Blurry face” like twenty one pilots

Polandine Patti Podcast

I grew up in Qatar, which is an Arab and Sunni supremacist society that treats its Asian and African labor force very poorly. Palestinians in Qatar benefit from that societal framework and feed into it even if they will never get citizenship. For most of my family who have experienced a great deal of anti-Indian prejudice in the Gulf Arab states, the last two years has been reconciling that Palestinians do not need to be perfect to be worthy of our compassion. Certainly, the people in Gaza have done nothing to warrant our taxes going to murdering them. To Noura's point about a future with power, there are places in the world where Palestinians have some power over others. They are not perfect. I do not expect a Palestinian state to be perfect but I do expect the Palestinian people to be able to choose their future.

Ibrahim Khatib

Wait Matt were you trying to say astagfir Allah? That would mean God forgive me

Dimatadore

You guys shat so hard on Ska 🥺 Adam I am with you. Ska is awesome!!

Dimatadore

Oh God, I used to see these ads on pbs or whatever it was when I was in college. It was so awkward I couldn’t believe people might fall for that manipulation.

Dimatadore

This was amazing, thanks Noura !!

Ibrahim Khatib

I hate to say it but, a Palestinian being super late.. oh man it's so true

Johnny H.

Yes please I NEED that song!

Johnny H.

Holy shit that WAS Matt? I had a feeling. But also I was like…. this song is legit af. I knew Matt brought the fire, but didn’t know he could burn down entire settlements.

Johnny H.

Just starting the episode, so I’m sorry to go so off topic AND as be the cringiest music nerd ever, but: The studio album of The Breeder’s - Pod actually has a male drummer (his solitary appearance in The Breeders) by the name Britt Walford, more famously know as the drummer of legendary indie-darlings, Slint.

Johnny H.

And Daniel, before you rush to check the album sleeve credits, he went under the secret name ‘Mike Hunt’, a “joke” that has unfortunately followed me my entire life. Most likely was Steve Albini’s idea. (rip)

Shazia Ahmad

I mean, I think it was Matt? That was my first thought hearing his British accent as he sang. Okay, I’ll say I am 99% sure it was Matt (had to be).

Ashlee

You’re right that it was Matt!

Ashlee

If you haven’t already heard his version of Love by Kendrick but called Laundry about Netanyahu, you should check it out. I had been wanting to re-listen so I went and found it: episode 42 around the 47:00 minute mark

Shazia Ahmad

Love is one of my favourite songs but to hear Matt’s rendition during that episode was 😘. So, so good!

Caro

Which are these valid questions?

Jay Ronimo

It is perfectly valid to question whether any biological man can request that the rest of society regard them in all situations as a woman. It is perfectly valid to question whether teenagers should be able to take hormones in order to change sex. Those are two examples.

Alex

I don't think it's necessarily letting off our own community when we come after Christian Zionists as well because they outnumber every single Jewish Zionist internationally and they also hold a lot of power and influence in DC. Jewish Zionists of any influence in the imperial core are playing along with them because day regard any support as good. The fact that Christian Zionism supported the 19th century bourgeois Jewish nationalist movement is one of many reasons why it was such a marginal position to hold within the Jewish community. Some might say we have a bit of a three way fight.

Alex

Also please boychiks, Ska goes back to at least the 1960s (see Trojan Records and Island Records), bands like Reel Big Fish, Sublime, Mighty Might Bosstones are Third Wave/Two Tone. And while yes, Daniel mentioned the great Desmond Dekker, there are soo many more amazing Ska artists and bands from that period like Prince Buster, Symarip, Alton Ellis, Toots & The Maytals, Laurel Aitken, Bunny Lee All Stars, The Pioneers, Dave & Ansell Collins, Harry J Allstars, Cimarons, The Upsetters etc.

Ibrahim Khatib

Noura REALLY got me with What is at stake? What is this incredibly racist edifice is Protecting materially for the ruling elite, that we can't chip away at it? That's the question I've had forever. I can't understand WHY the ruling elite of the entire world so ADAMANTLY NEEDS the mass extermination of Palestinians
