I will never defend the Australian govt or the Australian media because both are abhorrent- but I must defend Chris Sidoti. Matt and Daniel suggested his press club address would have been weak/ soft. It wasn’t anything of the sort. Chris Sidoti is the UN Commissioner who authored the report calling Israel’s actions a genocide. He (and Ben Saul) was scathing about the Australian media, the government’s complicity, the shipment of F35 parts, Israel and the western world’s support of Israel. In fact Chris Sidoti would be an amazing guest for the show. He is so unequivocal, so experienced and knowledgeable on Palestine and international human rights law, and also delivers killer one-liners. It baffles me that he doesn’t get more press coverage.

Chris Sidoti is one of the 2 Australian UN officials that restore some pride foe me in Australia. Sidoti doesn't mince his words at all, in calling out the complicity with Israel and the disgraceful coverage of the whole of Palestine in the media. (The other UN Australian who makes me proud is James Elder of UNICEF.)
