Good grief! After 2 years of being begged by our Canadian listeners to talk about the tragic downfall of their favorite (favourite?) podcast Canadaland, we decided to gift you all an extra long episode all about Jesse Brown. Our guest is Canadian journalist Rachel Gilmore, one of the many journalists who Jesse has attacked for reporting on the pro-Israel blinders of the Canadian political and media class.

WE WILL SEE YOU IN 2026!!!

A beloved holiday/ Jesus track: Hiss Golden Messenger’s “Jesus Shot Me in the Head.” Incredible stripped down version on the album Bad Debt. Happy hols.

The excitement I feel each week when Bad Hasbara drops is what I used to feel three or four times a week when CNDLND was good.

I have been a listener of Canadaland for about a year now. After listening to "that" episode with Noor and Jesse, of course I listened to the series Jesse did because I wanted to see what he learned. It left me with a lot of confusing thoughts. I felt disappointed in Canadaland, sad for Noor, and other so many other things. No one online was talking about it afterwards and I'm glad y'all are. I'm about to dive into this BH episode, thank you for talking about it!

Matt - Canadian Bad Hasbara fan here. As much as Canadaland was, at one point, a go-to listen for me - nothing compares to Bad Hasbaraaaaa <3

If you want to dive deeply into the claims of “94%” of Canadian Jews supporting Zionism here’s the report of a 2-wave study of this by a self-avowed “progressive Zionist”. https://cjs.journals.yorku.ca/index.php/cjs/article/view/40487/36736 Short story is that it’s complicated. It’s correct that from the survey 94% support Israel as a Jewish state, but also nearly half do not identify as Zionist, and about half of the non-Zionists did not agree that Zionism allows equal rights for non-Jewish Israelis. The author’s claim that basically most non-Zionists are bullied out of identification by nasty coverage of Israel isn’t very convincing. Surveys in the UK and Australia (where I’m from) show about a third of Jews in both don’t identify as Zionists.

The tonation of how this guy Jesse Brown talks reminds me of Bari Weiss. So weird.

Cory

It feels like NPR voice.

Like I CERTAINLY wouldn't hope the increase in antisemitism across the globe currently should be interpreted as "Well maybe antisemitism is good actually"???? It's not like group consensus DOESN'T matter. Sometimes it's reason to re-think your stance but if 94+% of non-Jewish Americans or non-Jewish Europeans or non-Jewish people globally said that it was very important to their feeling of safety to drive jews from their countries and/or worse then I'd say that's still evil cry-bully DARVO baby shit that should never EVER be taken as valid opinion that they should never be able to escape even a second of shame for holding.

Listening to this makes me glad I left Canada. Jesus Christ. Though I’m glad people like Rachel exist. A fellow Carleton alum. Good for her.

Chad Walter

Listening to this episode and I just passed a Palestine flag wave in MLK and Fremont here in Portland 🖤🤍❤️💚

Enjoyed this guest!

That’s good info, but I concur with Matt on this one: 100% could support Israel unconditionally, it’s still wrong; it’s not about percentages.
